"What's the difference?" Aura asked in return. There had to be one, so she wanted to figure out what it was.
"Mine involves talking." Katashi grinned, clearly teasing. Sesshomaru just rolled his eyes. Katashi frequently teased him like that.
Aura couldn't quite suppress a few giggles at that even as she cuddled into Sesshoumaru's side a bit.
"I don't know," she said, "it could be worse. He could talk too much, and that just wouldn't work." |
"That's true," Katashi said with a brief grin. "Come on, then. I'll show you around."
Sesshomaru slipped his arm around her again, relaxing as they walked around. He knew Katashi was just poking fun. He did that with everyone. |
Aura stayed close to Sesshoumaru, cuddled into his side even as she looked around in awe at all of the dragons. She'd never seen so many before. Of course, she was only used to Ah-Un, but still.
Katashi pointed out the different dragons, giving her more general information at the same time. He didn't know how much Sesshomaru had told her, but he figured it couldn't hurt to tell her more.
Aura listened and tried to absorb what information she could. There was too much for her to learn all in one sitting, but she was sure she would learn it all eventually.
Katashi finished his tour and looked at Sesshomaru. "There's a new clutch."
That got his attention. "How many?" "Four this time. Your boys are going to have a little sibling in a few more months." |
Aura listened, interested, but didn't make any sort of comment. It sounded fascinating.
Sesshomaru waited for a nod from Katashi before he started walking towards the caves where the dragons lived. He could see the eggs from there, and he smiled faintly as he pulled Aura over so she could see the gleaming eggs too.
Aura let him pull her over, and she gasped softly when she saw the eggs.
"Oh wow," she breathed. She didn't try to get any closer, though. She knew better than that. |
Sesshomaru hummed, pleased with the look of the eggs. He didn't try to move closer, either. His fingers strayed idly over her hip.
"We'll come visit again soon," he promised. "I can convince Father and Katashi to let us attend the hatching... if you want." |
Aura nodded.
"I'd like that," she said, leaning so her head was resting on him. |
Sesshomaru nodded with a little smile. Now he was definitely going to make sure that happened. He stayed there for a little while, letting Aura decide if she wanted to go explore.
Aura did poke around a little bit, but she never ventured far from Sesshoumaru. She was enjoying herself, though. She was absolutely fascinated by what she was learning.
Sesshomaru smirked, watching her and letting her do whatever she wanted. He absently kept an eye on one of the dragons as she sidled closer, clearly curious about the not-youkai.
Aura noticed the curious dragon, but didn't move any closer for the moment. Best not to startle the creature at all, in her mind. She glanced at her mate to see what he thought.
Sesshomaru didn't quite smile, but his eyes gleamed. He beckoned the dragon forward. She ambled closer, lowering her head to look at Aura.
"Gently," Sesshomaru reminded the dragon. She huffed, doing no more than looking. |
Aura looked up at the dragon, a little nervously. She tended to have a very deep respect for any creatures bigger than she was, and even moreso for the ones with teeth the size of her hands. But she wasn't actually afraid. Just nervous.
The dragon sniffed her over carefully, puzzled, but didn't do anything more than that. Sesshomaru was quiet, unconcerned.
Aura grinned a bit at that.
"Clearly, none of them expected someone like me to show up here," she commented to Sesshoumaru. |
"Not at all. You're one of the first humans to come here. I believe there has only been one before you." Sesshomaru shrugged. "They're not used to humans." He kept his arm securely around her, though.
"That's understandable," Aura replied, cuddling closer to him. "Thanks for bringing me," she added softly.
"My pleasure." Sesshomaru was quite content with life right then. He ignored the little snickers from Katashi, too.
Aura couldn't help but grin slightly at the snickers, but she mostly ignored them, too.
"We should head back soon, I think," she said after a moment. "Or else everyone will start speculating on what's keeping us." |
