Hisoka caught the look. He'd already been thinking about possible solutions to the problem, but nothing seemed feasible at the moment. They just hadn't been prepared for such a snowstorm.

Sesshomaru frowned, thinking quickly. The cold didn't bother him so much, but that wasn't going to help anything. Maybe if he could keep her wrapped up better somehow, keep her closer to his body heat...

The metaphorical little lightbulb went off, and he blinked once. A giant dog could heat up the place a lot faster and keep Aura warm better.

Hisoka could see the exact moment when Sesshoumaru got an idea. And from the looks of it, it was a good one. He sent the taiyoukai a questioning look.

Sesshomaru got up. "Move over by Kris," he told Aura. He'd take up most of the main room, but it would be better than Aura freezing. Especially since the wood wasn't going to last forever.

Aura blinked. That was random. But she did so, getting up and going to sit by her friend. It seemed like Sesshoumaru had some sort of idea, so she wanted to see where it would lead.

Sesshomaru concentrated for a moment before he shifted. A large white dog now lay in the front room, a little cramped but at least he wasn't sticking out the sides or anything. He huffed and resettled himself, getting as comfortable as he could manage.

Now Hisoka knew what the plan was, and to be honest, it was a good idea. He glanced at the girls to try to gauge their reactions.

To her credit, Aura was a bit more fascinated than anything. Oh, she'd known that he could do that, she'd just never seen it before. She opened her mouth to make some sort of comment, but closed it again. There was really nothing she could say to that.

Kris looked a little more wary. She was not comfortable with the thought of getting that close to Sesshomaru. So she stayed where she was, relaxing back against the wall. She wasn't that cold yet. She could last for a while.

Sesshomaru looked at Aura with another huff, moving one of his paws so she had a very clear place to go settle down.

Well, it didn't get much clearer than that. Getting up, Aura made her way back over to him and settled down in the space he made for her, snuggling close. It was a lot more comfortable than she'd initially thought, and much warmer.

"Thanks," she said softly.

Hisoka stayed where he was next to Kris. He wasn't cold yet, and it was clear Kris was wary of getting near Sesshoumaru, so he stayed close to her.

Sesshomaru huffed and settled down there, resting his head near her so she would be very well protected from the cold. He was happier now that he knew she'd be fine.

Kris glanced over at him, blinking. "You're fine?" she asked quietly.

"For the moment," Hisoka replied softly. He looked at her. "I could ask you the same thing." Because, while he wouldn't say it aloud, he knew she would get cold first.

Kris waved his concern off. "I'm fine," she said quietly. She wasn't going to admit she was starting to get chilly. And she knew it was only going to get worse.

But she'd manage.

Hisoka knew she wasn't telling the truth. It really wasn't hard to tell, and really, her tails were fluffing up from the cold. Gently, he wrapped an arm around her and pulled her close.

"Let me know when you get cold, then," he said softly.

Kris nodded and leaned against his side.

She lasted another two hours before she finally actually started shivering, and then she tried to squirm closer to Hisoka. Okay, now she was cold...

Hisoka noticed when she started to shiver, and pulled her a bit closer. When she snuggled closer on her own, though, he decided to take a page out of Sesshoumaru's book.

"Give me a moment," he said softly to her. Getting up, he moved away from her a bit and took a second or two to concentrate. Thankfully, his other form wasn't nearly the size of Sesshoumaru's, but he would still be able to keep Kris warm. Once he'd shifted forms, he padded back over to Kris and settled down next to her again.

Kris looked at him for a moment before she grinned. "See, I knew you were just a giant kitty," she said with a grin, settling in with him again. Okay, that was better. Definitely warmer. Her eyes slid half-closed.

Hisoka just gave her a Look and huffed slightly. But he did let her snuggle in to get warm, and he kept an eye on her to make sure she would be alright.

Kris curled up against him, letting herself doze off for a while. Okay, yeah, she could get used to this. She hummed quietly and rubbed her cheek against his side.

Hisoka let her snuggle close, and glanced out the window briefly to try to gauge the snowstorm. It had let up, some, but the snow was still coming down, so it would likely not end for a while.

Sesshomaru stayed where he was as a dog, curled around Aura until the snow had stopped falling. Then he lifted his head to look out the window. It would take a little while for the snow to get low enough so they could get out again.

With a huff, he settled around Aura again.

Aura was snuggled up to him comfortably, and only shifted around a bit when he moved. She would probably tease him later about being fluffy and snuggly, but for now she didn't. She did, however, pet him just the slightest bit. She couldn't help herself.

Sesshomaru let her, settling down again, content that she was safe and warm. In a few hours he'd be able to wade through the snow and get her back down somewhere warmer.

For the moment, Aura was perfectly content to stay where she was. She wouldn't mind snuggling in for another few hours, although she wasn't looking forward to going out in the snow later. She knew he would carry her again, but she felt bad about having him do that in snow that deep.

After a little while Sesshomaru shifted back to human again. He needed to make sure they had everything gathered up before they could go anyway. And then he'd probably shift back to dog to carry her back. It would be easier and faster.

Plus she seemed to enjoy him that way.

Aura moved over to the couch again to curl up while Sesshoumaru gathered up their things. She wanted to keep snuggling, but she knew he wanted to make sure they didn't leave anything behind. She did watch him as he went around the cabin, though.
