Sesshomaru chuckled quietly and smoothed one hand down the pup's head. He was so small, but then, Inuyasha had been too. Fortunately Sesshomaru remembered that, so he wasn't so worried about the pup.

Plus she'd taken well to mothering, so that helped, too.

Kris smiled and kissed the side of his neck once, nestling against him.

"Well that sounds entertaining. Anything new happen, or just the general bustle?"

The pup stirred slightly when he was touched, but didn't wake. Clearly, he was safe; his mother was holding him, and the scent he'd imprinted as 'father' was nearby, so all was well. Aura cuddled the newborn gently as he slept.

"I doubt 'entertaining' is the right word for it," Hisoka replied as he held her. He kissed her head, and then murmured in her ear, "Aura was in labor all night, and gave birth early this morning. The new pup's name is Katsuro."

Sesshomaru smiled again and stayed there, just watching over them. He was very content with life.

Kris smiled and stayed there. "I'll have to go visit soon," she murmured. She was looking forward to that. Aura hadn't really gotten to know the new little one, Alex, very well yet either. The little half-cat hanyou was still young.

"We can go whenever you like," Hisoka replied. He wouldn't mind a chance to see the new pup; he hadn't gotten to, yet, since it was more of an 'immediate family only' thing right now. He doubted even Inutaishou had gotten more than a quick glance at the newborn.

"After the cookies are ready. Alex should be up by then." Kris didn't try to move away from Hisoka yet, though. She was quite content to stay there.

The only thing that would be better would be if she could have children by him, but so far it hadn't worked.

"Alright," Hisoka replied. He reached up and rubbed her ears gently. "I take it both of them are napping?" Shippou had taken to the idea of having an adopted sibling well, and he and Alex got along easily. Although Hisoka did think that it helped to have a 'parent' of each species for the children to take after.

Kris shivered and relaxed against him, nodding. "Yeah. They're asleep." She yawned briefly. "If you're not careful you're going to put me to sleep too."

"Would that be a bad thing?" Hisoka asked as he kept rubbing her ears. "I can keep an eye on things if you want to take a quick nap yourself."

"Mmm." Kris smiled a little. "After the cookies come out of the oven," she mumbled. "Then I'll go relax." She shifted to get more comfortable.

"I can keep an eye on the oven," Hisoka replied gently. "You wanted to go visit Aura once the cookies are done, remember?" He nuzzled her briefly. "Go on upstairs and nap for a bit. I can take care of this."

Kris nodded after a moment, although she still made no move away from him. She was comfortable and happy right where she was. She purred quietly and nestled against him.

Hisoka held her close, purring softly as well. He had never regretted making her his mate, and always did everything he could to take care of her.

Kris finally pulled herself away so she could go curl around the two little ones and take a nap. She was sure Hisoka knew enough to at least not burn the house down or let the cookies burn.

Hisoka watched her go, and then went to settle himself at the counter with a book. He could keep an eye on the oven from there and make sure nothing burned.

Kris got up a little while later, carrying Alex with Shippou racing ahead of her to go try and steal a cookie. She set Alex down on the counter and went to nestle herself against Hisoka again. She was feeling cuddly today. Really not her fault.

Hisoka caught Shippou just before the kit could steal a cookie from the tray.

"Let them cool," he admonished gently. Then he turned and slid his arms around Kris's waist as she cuddled up to him again. "How was your nap?" he asked her softly.

"Very nice." Kris smiled and stayed there, relaxing. She still had another week before her next human period, so she figured she was good for the moment.

Alex looked at Shippou before grinning and sneaking towards the cookie tray again. She figured that she might succeed where Shippou had bounded in too quickly.

Hisoka glanced at the little hanyou, raising an eyebrow. He knew that trick; he'd had plenty of siblings try that exact tactic.

"I think, perhaps, we should head out," he said, though he didn't let go of Kris yet. "His lordship might finally be letting the rest of the family meet the new pup."

"Oh, good." Kris moved after a few moments and plucked Alex off the counter top easily, ignoring the little hanyou's whine. She just looked at Shippou.

"You want to come too kid?"

Shippou nodded eagerly. He was curious too.

Hisoka nodded and gestured to the door.

"Let's go, then," he said.

Meanwhile, at the mansion, Aura's long night was finally catching up to her, so she was curled up on the bed, asleep. She let Sesshoumaru look after Katsuro for a while (reluctantly; she hadn't wanted to hand him off to anyone yet), and was asleep almost before the bedroom door had closed.

Kris nodded and led the way outside and towards the mansion, taking her time. She figured there was no rush. The pup would still be there in an extra few minutes.

Sesshomaru carried the pup around carefully, cradling him and walking him around that wing of the house. He didn't go into Hisoka's room, but he did go into the room that would be the pup's once he got old enough.

The trip to the mansion wasn't long, even walking at an easy pace, and Hisoka was soon opening the doors so Kris and the children could go inside. Everything was quiet again inside, much moreso than it had been earlier when he'd left.

Kris carried Alex up to the bedroom Aura had moved into, looking around for Sesshomaru.

He slipped out of the pup's new room and looked at them, still holding his son carefully. He raised an eyebrow at Hisoka.

"Aura's asleep," he said quietly.

"We probably won't be long," Kris said quietly. "Just wanted to check on her and see the new little one."

"It's good she's resting," Hisoka said to Sesshoumaru. "How is your son?"

"Healthy." Sesshomaru moved over closer to Hisoka so the cat could see first. He figured Kris could wait another minute, especially since she had a little one of her own there.
