Kris nodded. "Yeah. That's normal, though. At least he doesn't seem too upset at the moment."

"He was earlier, when Sess left," Aura replied. She cuddled her son. "He was not a happy pup at the time."

"Yeah." Kris started rubbing one of Aiko's ears gently. "The giant annoyance will be back soon, though. And until then he'll be distracted by my lot, I'm sure."

"I'm sure," Aura agreed. She held Katsuro as the pup worked on the teether. His ears flicked back and forth as he tracked sound in the room, though, so she knew he was paying attention to things.

Kris looked over at the kitchen briefly when she heard a timer go off. "Guess dinner's ready. Or just about."

"It is," Hisoka said, getting up to turn the stove off. "It was decided that you should have a break from cooking."

"Thanks." Kris smiled, pleased, and picked up Aiko to go put her in her high chair before picking up her other kids to settle them in for dinner too.

Aura got up and took care of her own son, taking his teether away from him for the moment and settling him on her lap. That way, she could pay closer attention to what he tried to stuff in his mouth during dinner.

Kris put down plates and things before letting people dig in, sitting between Alex and Hisoka. Dinner was nice and quiet and there was no food fight. Which was good.

Aura made sure that her son got the softest pieces of stew from her bowl and then gave him back his teether to chew on for a while. That kept him content enough to behave so she could finish eating.

Kris was content to let the little ones settle down for a bit after dinner, making tea for herself and Hisoka. "Tea?" She looked over at Aura.

"Sure," Aura replied. She was curled up in a corner of the couch with Katsuro in her lap. The pup looked drowsy and was very nearly asleep already, and Aura was content to let him drift off.

Kris nodded and made tea for the three of them, taking a mug over to Aura and settling herself in a chair with her own mug. Things were winding down for the night, which was always a nice time to just sit and relax for a bit.

"Thanks," Aura said softly as she took the mug. She sipped the tea quietly, enjoying the relaxation time. She didn't even mind that she had a sleeping pup in her lap; it was actually pretty typical. He would fall asleep in her lap first, and then she would take him into his room. She was spoiling him, yes, but she couldn't help it.

Kris stayed there for a while before she went to go put the kids to bed, carrying them upstairs to their rooms and settling them down. Then she went back down to Aura.

"Whenever you're ready, there's a seperate room for Katsuro if you want. Or he can stay with you."

"I think I'll keep him with me," Aura replied, gathering her son into her arms. "If I put him into the other room, I won't be able to hear him if he wakes up and gets upset." That was always something she had to take into account; Sess was usually the one to hear the pup, and he woke her so she could take care of him.

Kris nodded. "Okay. Well we have air mattresses if you want, so in case he rolls off the bed he'll just roll onto the floor." She'd had that happen a few times with Alex, and so now she was prepared.

"Good call," Aura replied. She hadn't had that problem yet with Katsuro, but the potential was always there. Especially since Aura herself had had a habit of rolling out of bed as a child.

Kris nodded. "I'll go set it up so you don't have to worry about it later. Need any extra pillows or things?"

"Nothing more than what I used to have," Aura replied, holding her son close as he slept. She grinned a bit. "Really, I haven't changed."

"I know. But I also know that your room at his house is not the same as your room here." Kris shrugged. It made sense to her to fuss over Aura.

"Of course not," Aura agreed easily. She grinned a bit. "He sleeps with me there." She couldn't resist that little tease.

Kris snorted. "If he ever spends the night here and sleeps I will be amazed." Still shaking her head, she went to go set up the air mattress in Aura's room for the pup.

"He's just a bit cautious, that's all," Aura replied as she followed her friend. "You know that better than I do."

"Oh do I," Kris grumbled. "Oh well. I haven't slept there either. So I suppose we're even. For the moment." She pulled the air mattress out of a linen closet and set up the pump to fill it up.
