"I won't try to convince you to do otherwise," Aura said as she sat down on the edge of the bed. "I know a lost cause when I see one."

Kris just snickered and waited until the bed was inflated before she screwed the top shut and patted the bed. "There we go. Baby proofed bed."

"Thanks," Aura replied. "It wouldn't surprise me if he did roll off the bed... I used to, as a child. Of course, I was a little older, but I still used to fall out of bed once a night or so."

Kris shrugged. "It's hard to roll out of bed when the ground is already bed." She got up again to go put things away. "Anyway, you know where everything is, so go ahead and make yourself comfortable. We'll probably be headed upstairs in a little while."

"Alright," Aura replied, settling in with her son. "Good night, then."

"Night. Yell if you need anything." Kris hesitated for a moment before she went over and hugged Aura.

Aura returned the hug and settled back in, letting her son snuggle close to her.

"I still remember where everything is if I need something," she replied. "Go on and relax, I'll be just fine."

"Alright." Kris let go after a few moments and headed upstairs to bed. The little ones were all put down for the night, she knew Aura would be fine, and she got time with her mate. Good night.

Aura slept in until her son woke her the next morning. Once she was a bit more awake than just sitting up, she gathered Katsuro in her arms and made her way downstairs to see if anyone else was awake yet.

Kris was already up, shushing Aiko gently and rocking the little one. Hisoka was still upstairs with the other two kids.

"It was worse with the two-AM feedings," Aura teased softly as she went into the room Kris was in and saw her friend with the little hanyou. "Sess usually had to wake me for those, Katsuro wasn't making sounds I could hear."

Kris chuckled quietly. "Yeah. At least these three we can hear. She wasn't sleeping well, though. I've been up with her for a while." She rubbed Aiko's back again, the little hanyou fisting her hands in her mother's shirt.

Aura nodded.

"This one has had nights like that before," she said, nodding to Katsuro. The pup was snuggled against her, dozing a little but nowhere near completely asleep. "Right now, I can only hear about half the noises he makes. It'll be easier for me once he starts talking."

"Yeah. He's already started with a few words, right? So it shouldn't be too much longer." Kris grinned and bounced Aiko a little, helping her calm down.

"He's said a few, yeah," Aura replied, cuddling her son. She rubbed one of his ears a bit and he snuggled closer.

Kris smiled as she watched the two. "Yeah, Aiko's getting there slowly. I know she knows the words in her head, but actually saying them is harder."

"I think that's how it is with all little ones," Aura replied. "I read somewhere once that little ones can understand language before they can speak it themselves."

"That would make a lot of sense." Kris shrugged a little, careful not to disturb her daughter. "It really would. But I don't mind waiting a bit. She's younger than Katsuro, so I don't expect actual words for a little while yet."

"She isn't that much younger," Aura pointed out. "It may be obvious now, but it'll be negligible once they're older. For all intents and purposes, they're the same age." She knew that much, at least. Once the little ones got into the double and triple digits, a difference of a handful of months would be next to nothing.

"Oh I know. As soon as she starts running it really won't make a difference how old they are. Then we'll have five little monsters all running around." Kris looked briefly almost horrified at that.

"Counting Inuyasha, yeah," Aura agreed, nodding. She grinned slightly. "I keep pointing out to Sess how we usually end up taking care of two, but only one is actually ours." She paused for a moment. "Although I'm sure that will change if he has his way. I think he's been thinking about another."

Kris snorted. "Well the other one is half-yours because you both took care of him for so long before this all happened."

"True," Aura replied. "He's more like a little brother than a son, though, which is how it should be." She looked down at her son for a moment. "Although I think Sess wants a daughter, eventually."

"I'm not surprised. Hisoka loves the girls. I'm pretty sure once they're a little older he's going to be doting on them, perhaps a little more than Shippou. Luckily Shippou doesn't mind." Kris grinned briefly when Aiko shifted and resettled herself to get comfortable.

Aura grinned.

"I remember him saying he comes from a big family," she said. "You may have to reign him in from wanting a family just as big."
