"No, not very far," Sesshomaru said. "Depending, of course, on how much you want to walk."
"We'll see," Aura replied. "I'm alright for now. I'll let you know if that changes."
Sesshomaru nodded and led on.
It took a few days for the rumors to really start circulating, and Sesshomaru largely ignored them. Largely. There were a few about his choice of mate that actually got him angry. |
Aura could tell that the whispers were upsetting him.
"Hey," she said softly. "Talk to me. What are they saying that's got you so riled up?" |
"They're making comments about you unbecoming of anyone in public," Sesshomaru said, his eyes narrowed and his frame tense.
Aura put a hand on his arm gently. She could feel his youki flaring, and apparently the pup could as well, because it started to squirm and kick.
"It's alright," she said softly. "Ignore them for now, until you get the chance to make an example of someone." Because she knew he was probably going to anyways. |
Sesshomaru nodded once, though he did glare impressively at a group of three younger canines. They all scattered.
Aura saw it happen, but didn't say anything about it. She did, however, smile when their son scampered over to them with Inuyasha in tow.
Sesshomaru huffed and let the two kids walk with them. Or rather run ahead, circle back to them, and repeat the process.
Aura smiled, watching the boys have fun.
"Just think," she murmured to Sess, "soon there will be a third one running around with them." |
"Indeed," Sesshomaru murmured with a little grin. "That will be interesting."
"Yes it will," Aura replied, grinning. "Especially if this little one turns out to be a daughter."
"Mmm." Sesshomaru smirked. "If not this one, then perhaps the next one, in a few more years," he said.
"We'll see what happens," Aura agreed. She smiled a bit. "Who knows, we may want another one later on regardless."
"We'll see," Sesshomaru agreed, because at this point he certainly wouldn't say no to a third little one.
Aura grinned at that.
"I doubt anyone would have thought you'd want a big family," she teased gently. "You might end up even giving Hisoka a run for his money." |
Sesshomaru snorted. "We've a ways to go yet before that," he said reasonably. "Especially since I believe he will want another little one of his own once we have ours."
"I'd be surprised if they aren't trying already," Aura admitted. "Kris told me they were thinking about it."
Sesshomaru snorted quietly. "Well, they do have to be a bit more prepared," he murmured. "And I doubt Hisoka will ever turn down more children."
"That's true," Aura replied. She smiled a bit. "Anyways, I'm just glad Katsuro is accepting the fact he's going to have a sibling. I was worried he wouldn't."
"He grew up with the others," Sesshomaru pointed out. "Even though they are not his siblings, he is already used to sharing."
"Still, there was that chance," Aura replied. "But I'm glad he's taking it well so far."
Sesshomaru nodded and didn't say anything when the kids finally actually had to stop and see where they were going first.
Aura smiled and nudged Sesshoumaru a little.
"Go on and take them," she murmured. "I'll find a place to settle and watch the festival. Tonight's the full moon, and it'll be dark soon, so I want to make sure I have a good spot to watch from." |
"I know a good spot," Sesshomaru said. "I'll take you there and then escort them into the festival." Because it was important, but it was important that she got to see as well.
