Jolene took that moment's distraction that the Yeti had with Sara to get up. Clinging to her sword, she focused and gathered the water she had collected earlier around her. This wouldn't be enough, but anything would help. She created a vortex of water so that it was spiraling around her. The wind it created was a buffer zone against the Yeti. The she took thousands of small droplets of water and combined them into daggers. His cold wind would only help them not to melt. She grinned and with her eyes slightly glowing, sent them all spiraling in one united masterpiece at the Yeti right shoulder.

Lisanna crawled to her sword when the wind changed direction. Picking it up, she struggled to stand. She saw Sara knocked down and tried to move into a defense position between the her and the Yeti. She hadn't stumbled far when the wind ceased as a howl of agony split the air. She stood panting in pain, her eyes turning to look at the angry but wounded Yeti.

Sara had been able to get out when the wind stopped and saw the Yeti was injured." Are you alright?" She asked Lisanna, hoping her friend was alright . She hoped they could defeat the Yeti together.

Lisanna knodded, her left hand grasping her side while her right hand held the sword out in front of her. Her ribs really hurt where she had landed hard earlier. Also she had not quite regained all the magical energy she had used the day before. She could kick herself for not using magic for several years. That vacation away from Fairy Tail was costing her now. "I'll be fine. How about you?" They had just become friends. They hadn't had enough time to build memories together for it all to end now. She would live and protect Sara too.

The Yeti swung on Jolene. Sending his cold wind in one furious blast at her, she braced her mind and body. Her body shuddered when the blast hit her buffer zone the water spirals created with their vortex. The wind attack was deflected off to the side. The Yeti tried again, not in a single wind blast but a continuous push. The icy fingers of wind poked, prodded, and shoved at the vortex spiraling around Jolene. She frowned and lifted her sword. It was crafted for those who used the water element. She pulled energy out of it and into her water spirals, expanding the vortex zone.

" I'm alright." Sara said feeling sore where she fell. She kept her eye on Jolene , hoping her friend would be alright. She knew she needed to be ready to fight the Yeti just in case.

Jolene now faced off with the Yeti. He put all his energy, reserves, and focus into his wind pushing against her vortex. She likewise put all her energy and focus into her water tornado. She couldn't even be seen anymore. Just her shape and glowing eyes inside her water twister. Both Jolene and the Yeti were draining their magic power in this all out attack.

Lisanna saw her opportunity. Turning to Sara she whispered, "I'm heading in the cave. I'll be right back with that darn artifact." She sprinted around the battle and into the cool, black darkness.

Sara nodded and keeping her eye on where Lisanna went . She wanted to be able to protect her friend when they needed her and help fight the Yeti, though it seemed he was getting exhausted from the fighting he was doing.

Jolene felt her magic energy reaching it draining point. The cold wind gave out just seconds after her vortex died. She watched the water collapse around her. She stood there a moment before dropping the sword and falling to her knees. Her limbs had betrayed her with weariness. Sitting there, she gasped for breathe after that intense battle. The Yeti paused for just a moment. He switched tactics to physical and charged at her.

Sara jumped up and used a strong barrier to block the Yeti, not sure if it would be strong enough to keep him away . She would use her fire magic if she had to.

Jolene gratefully looked at the barrier in front of her. It was well-timed. She needed a breather. "Good job Sara... she gasped. Leaning forward, she closed her eyes and tried to center what energy she had left. Instead she felt dizzy. Realizing her magic was pretty much depleted, she slowly reached out and gasped her sword. Pulling it to her, she used it to stand back up. Leaning on it like a crutch, she knew she could only only attack physically now. At least the Yeti also was tired and unable to use his wind magic anymore.

"What would you like me to do to help?" Sara asked as she felt her barrier weaken.

She groaned out, "Light the dude's fur on fire." Suddenly the Yeti collapsed in a heap. He wasn't moving or breathing. A light beam shot out of the side of the mountain into the sky. She jerked back in surprise and stared in disbelief at the light. What the heck?

Sara was getting ready to use her fire spell, but stopped when she saw the beam of light. What had happened while Lisanna was in the cave? Sara hoped things were going to be alright.

Jolene blinked and then relaxed. Whatever was happening, she gladly took the break. Laying backwards on the ground, she looked up into the sky where the beam traveled and then closed her eyes.

Lisanna came out of the building grinning. "Found the artifact. And a letter. This was all a test. Fairy Tail was the guild selected to send members to test a new training style. The students was the bodyguards... and they failed. The Yeti is mechanical and not actually alive. The artifact was the big red button that stops everything and let's the school that teaches this art come back in to assess."

" A test?" Sara said in amazement. She was glad it wasn't anything to serious, and glad she had the opportunism to help others learn how to use a new technique. She was also glad she had learned something new also and was looking forward to her next mission.

Already in the distance the sound of approaching people was heard. One of Fairy Tail's mages, the air dragon slayer, was with them. She came over to them while the strangers took care of starting clean up and analyzing. She started using her healing abilities until their injuries had been cured. "Did you enjoy the job? I hear the payment for taking it on is high. So you will have enough each to pay rent easily for awhile."

Jolene groaned, she liked it better thinking she was saving the town of Magnolia. Oh well. At least they gained skills and experience. She looked over at Sara and Lisanna. She had made two good friends while here too. Lisanna saw her looking at her and winked. It had been worth it. Though knowing the master was in on this didn't help much with the shock. Jolene spoke up, "We will need to go break down camp too. We left it up in case we would need a place to stay tonight."

Sara was shocked as well , knowing that the master was in on this . She was glad though she would have some money to be able to pay for rent and maybe a small sword. She wished that her father's didn't go missing shortly after he did. "I'm ready to help break down camp if you guys are." She said to Lisanna and Jolene.

Jolene knodded. Standing, she turned and joined Sara. Lisanna walked over as well. She grinned, "Good thing I went for the cave, the yeti almost was too much." They started walking down the crumbled and broken road towards the clearing where they had made their camp. It would be a welcome sight after the hard work of today.

Sara nodded in agreement. She knew that her barrier then was in danger of collapsing. She was glad this mission was over, but was looking forward to the next one.

When they reached camp, they set about getting everything cleaned up. There were their things to pack and there was the camp site to return to a natural setup. Jolene got started on the tent. Getting the tarp taken off the top and then the poles pulled down took a few minutes. She supposed they would all be wanting to rest when they got back.

(no but I read the manga. I didn't know there was an anime. )

(the anime is pretty sweet. I started the manga and they almost identical... I just watching over reading... okay my idea for this is where another guild decides that they want to own Magnolia. When they move to town and start bullying people and making businesses pay "protection" fees, Fairy Tail comes to the rescue. You know the characters and their personalities, so you can use some of the cannon characters to help out like I did with Lisanna.)

How does the character feel, what does she see, what is happening and how is she reacting to that. Maybe describe something nearby or "remember" a past memory. I use some of those in this post so you can see. Ask if you have questions or don't know what to do. I'm willing to help. It is just hard to carry a story without some help)

Jolene stretched as she woke up. Her headache from her last mission had finally gone away. Slowly sitting up and looking around her apartment, she sighed. There was no way out of it. She needed to go grocery shopping. She climbed out of bed and walked over to the kitchen. She had some fruit but was otherwise out of food. The brought up some childhood memories. One summer her family hit a low point and had been unable to buy very much food for several weeks. It hadn't been fun but they had survived. Luckily she had a choice. Munching on an apple, she got ready for the day. Grabbing her shopping bag, she headed out the door.

Walking down the street, she let the early morning breeze play with her hair. The soft sunlight that lit up the town was warm to the skin. She felt relaxed and happy with the joy that every new day brought her. It was a chance to start fresh. She grinned in happiness. She reached the market and paused. Maybe people liked sleeping in on such a beautiful day because there was hardly anyone about. Where there was normally a bustling crowd was instead an empty square lot. She surveyed the scene before her with narrowed eyes. There were only a few tables and stalls set up. The people here were few and acting wary.

She turned slowly and walked away. That was a most nerve wracking seen. It made her feel uneasy. She headed instead to the supermarket store. Walking in, she looked up with a beaming smile at the cashier. It went away at his white face. He stammered, "Sorry ma'am, we don't serve Fairy Tail members no more. You gonna have to leave." Her jaw dropped and she asked, "What happened? What's going on?" He shook his head and pointed at the door. She backed out and stood there baffled. A young boy run up from an alley and took her hand. She let herself be led back into the alley. Perhaps he could explain what was going on.

As soon as they were out of sight, she demanded, "What is going on? Why are there so few businesses open? Where is all the customers? Why is everyone scared?" The boy looked up at her pleadingly, "You gotta help us. Some guild moved into town over the weekend. They have been walking around bullying people. Worst is that if we talk to anyone from Fairy Tail or help you out then we get fined and taught a lesson. You have got to make them go away." His eyes were tearing up now. She snapped her open mouth shut and patted his head. "I'll let Fairy Tail know what is going on. Don't worry, we will think of something. You have always been there for us. Time for us to return the favor."
