Another tournament? What now... ((Woofie and Sunday))

This is the continuation of YYH, taking some of the main characters and putting them in our own situations. Because it's fun!

Name: Aya
Age: unknown
Race: kitsune, black variety
Appearance: Olive/bronze skin tone, about 5'5", normally wears a loose tank top and loose pants. She has bright blue eyes, black hair, and a set of black fox ears and tail.
Powers: Some plant manipulation, also has some elemental control (but only some).

Sunday Roast 12-31-2011 04:10 AM

Name: Lux
Age: Appears to be in her teenagers.
Race: Thunder Demon.
Appearance: Pale skin, tall and of average build. Blonde hair and shocking blue eyes. Always wears a set of headphones over her ears, something of her own creation, and she's able to change music without having to touch it. Clothing wise, she'll wear whatever she feels like at the time, generally something with a punk feel or something she threw on at the last minute.
Powers: Anything to do with Electricity and Thunder. She doesn't eat and sleep as most need to, she can simply absorb nearby sources of electricity and it'll nourish her. Computer whiz, though has a bad habit of blowing them up when carried away.

Aya yawned briefly, sharp little canines showing briefly in her mouth before she smacked her lips together and wiggled her nose. She glanced over at her current companion, a thunder demon by the name of Lux. They hadn't talked much, but Aya didn't think they really needed to. Not yet, anyway. So far they hadn't been assigned any major tasks.

Aya herself was there to see if she could sneak into one of the teams, or at least work security for the tournament. She'd been paired with Lux only on a temporary basis, to keep an eye on things.

But once all the teams arrived, it was every demon for him or herself trying to get in. And Aya was determined to get in. She needed to win the tournament, and she wasn't leaving without her prize.

Kurama glanced over at Hiei, raising one eyebrow. They hadn't spoken much, not since everyone had gone off on their own after the last tournament. But he was glad to see the little fire koormie again.

Sunday Roast 12-31-2011 03:05 PM

Lux had always wanted to go to one of the tournaments, but something always seemed to creep up days before and she was unable to attend. This year, however, was different as she'd been partnered up with another demon and sent straight to the tournament with her. What they'd be doing though, had yet to be decided. There was only two of them, so they couldn't enter as a team. Sitting in the crowd and watching was something she'd always wanted to do, though Aya seemed to have ideas of her own about what she'd be doing.

With music blaring from her headphones, the thunder demon's bright blue eyes watched the crowds around them. So many demons had turned up with the hopes of competing, but how many of them would fall at the first hurdle? Lux quirked a brow, the music from her headphones seemed to turn itself down and she looked to Aya. "So, what's the plan?"

Hiei didn't say much, then again, he rarely did. Though it was nice to see his red haired friend again, it had been far too long since they'd last had chance to meet like this. Relaxed in his friends company, the short demon looked through the crowds, awaiting the arrival of their two late team mates. What could possibly be keeping Yusuke and the idiot? "Hn. Have they gotten lost?"

Woofie267 12-31-2011 07:03 PM

"Well, I don't know about you, but I want to compete. Once every team checks in, they all get an exam to make sure they're able to compete. If they're not, they get booted, and I slip in." Aya beamed, her black tail swishing behind her.

Then she looked at the thunder demon. "Although, to be honest, I'd like to find a team with two slots. I may not have known you for long, but I'd rather not fight against you." So she was a little nicer than most demons. So what? She still made a living.

Kurama chuckled quietly at Hiei's impatience. "Yusuke is rarely on time," he murmured, his eyes bright. "As for Kuwabara, I am unsure. Perhaps he is simply training at the last minute?" It had happened before, and it wouldn't surprise the red-head. Kuwabara had always challenged himself to keep up with the rest of the team.

Sunday Roast 12-31-2011 08:17 PM

That was a rather good plan, sweep in at the last minute to fill the empty slot. Lux cocked her head and looked to the fox once more. "Do you think there will be a team with two missing members?" She'd only known Aya for a short amount of time, but to have her say something like that brought a smile to her lips. "I'd like to fight alongside you too, it isn't every day you come across a demon without an attitude problem."

Hiei scoffed and folded his arms firmly across his chest. He knew Yusuke had bad time keeping, but Kuwabara was never far behind him. If they didn't arrive soon, they wouldn't be able to enter the tournament and he didn't like the idea of having to replace them with two strange demons they don't know.

Woofie267 12-31-2011 08:38 PM

Aya grinned briefly at that. She definitely liked the thunder demon. But she did have to be honest, so she shrugged. "I don't know. I've only been to two before, when I was much younger. I wasn't trying to get on a team, so I don't know how common it is to have to replace team members."

She did hope, though, that they'd find a team. Hopefully.

Kurama stayed quiet for a few minutes, looking out at the other demons he could see. There wasn't much going on yet, but he doubted that would last for too long.

As time approached for the teams to check in, though, he began to get a little anxious as well. "I hope they arrive soon."

Sunday Roast 12-31-2011 09:06 PM

"Oh." Lux looked around at the demons massing towards the check in desks, now she was hoping that there would be a team needing members. Sitting in the crowd just wouldn't cut it now.

Hiei frowned and tapped his foot impatiently.

Botan soon appeared, rushing towards them through the crowd. "Guys! Hey, guys!" She called, arms waving as she moved. Skidding to a halt before them, she haunched over, hands on her knees as she attempted to catch her breath. "Yusuke.. and.. Kuwabara.. aren't.. gonna make it." She said, finally standing up straight. "We've not heard from for days now."

Woofie267 12-31-2011 09:17 PM

"We'll see, though. There are always ways to make a team need an extra person." Aya grinned briefly. She always had ways of making things work to her advantage. Even if she had hoped to avoid the killing before the tournament. Although maiming would work...

Kurama frowned, looking concerned. "Perhaps we should leave, then," he said, glancing at Hiei. "If you haven't heard from them, we should go look for them."

It was unusual to have not heard from the former Spirit Detective. He kept in contact, especially when he was needed. To simply go silent like this... It was very unusual, which made Kurama worried and wary.

Sunday Roast 12-31-2011 09:37 PM

Was Aya talking about 'removing' another team member to make room for them? "I like the way you think." Lux smirked and shook her head, that was certainly an idea to keep in mind, though she hoped it wouldn't be needed.

Botan shook her head. "Koenma received a letter this morning, it hinted towards the writer having the two of them captive in an attempt to pull the team from the tournament. He wants you to carry on as planned, see what happens."

Woofie267 12-31-2011 11:22 PM

Aya grinned briefly before cocking her head to the side, her ears flickering. "Last call for teams to check in, one hour remaining." She grinned at her new friend. "And then we get to worm our way in."

Kurama sighed. He had hoped to do this with Kuwabara and Yusuke. Without those two, their chances of winning went down. With two new demons assigned to them, likely lower-class demons, who had probably never worked together or never even been to a tournament before, their chances went down even further.

"I do hope Koenma realizes this may not turn out as planned. Our chances of winning this tournament seem to have just fallen quite a bit." He glanced at Hiei, clearly expecting the two of them to pull all the weight.

Sunday Roast 12-31-2011 11:55 PM

Only an hour to go before they could try and get themselves onto a team, she couldn't wait! Competing in the tournament was going to be far more enjoyable than sitting in the stands watching from a distance. "I can't wait." She said, a grin creeping onto her lips.

Botan shook her head and looked to Kurama. "We have no leads and no clues, looking blindly for them will take forever! If you enter the tournament as planned, we're going to keep an eye out and hopefully the kidnapper will slip up or we'll receive another letter with more to go on."

Woofie267 01-01-2012 12:00 AM

"Come on, let's head back to the check in tent, just in case someone needs an extra team member." Grinning broadly, the fox turned and headed back for the entrance to the stadium.

Kurama inclined his head to show he understood, even if he was rather worried now. He exchanged looks with Hiei before he sighed. "Well then, I suppose we should go check in and see who is assigned to our team."

Sunday Roast 01-01-2012 12:25 AM

"Sounds good." Lux shoved her hands into the pockets of her jeans and followed her Kitsune companion towards the tent at the stadium entrance. The queue had died down considerably now and many of the accepted teams were stood around talking.

"I'll be sure to keep you guys updated!" Botan said before excusing herself and heading back into the crowds, she soon vanished from sight.

Hiei could only let out an irritated sigh. So Yusuke and the idiot had gone and gotten themselves kidnapped? Pathetic. "Hn." Was his simple responce to Kurama as he followed along side him. He really didn't like the idea of having new people on the team.

Woofie267 01-01-2012 01:59 AM

Aya didn't go straight up to the tent, but she did stick close by it, watching the teams coming and going. She did pause when she spotted two people walking up to the tent.

Kurama was not pleased with this turn of events either, but he didn't say anything about it. Instead, he walked over to the check in tent, looking displeased.

"Your team?" the demon behind the table demanded.

"Urameshi. Two of our teammates are unable to compete." Kurama grimaced.

"You need to find replacements or they will be assigned to you." The demon looked bored, crossing off the two names and looking at Kurama again.

Aya grinned and moved forward, making sure Lux was with her. "We might be able to help with that."

Sunday Roast 01-01-2012 02:24 AM

Hiei didn't like this at all. If they didn't find two replacements, two would be assigned to them. If they could find two themselves, atleast they'd have some say in the matter, otherwise they could be paired up with just about anyone. Hearing the voices behind then, the short demon looked over his shoulder to look at the one that spoke. A kitsune and a blonde thing? Hiei frowned and turned to face them properly. "A fox and a girl?"

Noticing Aya moving, Lux followed close behind, curious as to what she was doing. Ah. Two demons lacking two team mates. "I'm as much a girl as you are fairy princess." Which was true, looks could be deceiving after all, especially in the cases of demons.

Woofie267 01-01-2012 03:25 AM

"Better than two of them." Aya pointed towards the entrance, where mostly lower-level demons waited to see if they could worm their way into a team. The two girls really were the best options there.

She had a point, even if Kurama didn't like it. So he sighed and looked at Hiei again. "She is correct. It would seem that these two are currently our best option."

Sunday Roast 01-01-2012 03:36 AM

Hiei looked over both girls, while they did seem to be stronger than the lower level demons hanging around, he still didn't like it. But they had to get the other two back and if the only way to do it was by teaming with these two.. Hiei looked upto Kurama and sighed. "..fine."

Things were starting to look up, the two males seemed to have accepted that they were the best of the rest. Oh she couldn't wait! She'd certainly have to try her best to make sure she didn't let the others down.

Woofie267 01-01-2012 03:41 AM

Aya grinned broadly and skipped back over to go tell the demon their names so they'd be listed under the correct team. Then she bounced back. "Excellent! Do you two know your way around?"

"Not yet. We have not had time to explore this island yet," Kurama answered hesitantly. He'd known many, many demons in his time, but he had to say, this was the first demon he'd ever met that could pull off bouncy and hyper.

"Alrighty then. We'll show you around, at least briefly, and tomorrow we'll see what team we're fighting first." Aya grinned, now very excited.

Sunday Roast 01-01-2012 03:50 AM

They'd been stood waiting for the other two and hadn't had chance to explore the island yet. Hiei watched the fox bounce off and return with a bounce still in her step. A hyperactive kitsune? Now wasn't this going to be fun?

"As islands go, this ones pretty easy to get around on." Lux said with an idle shrug of her shoulder. "Though I've not found a proper food source.. "Which may lead to problems, but she was sure she'd find something when she had chance to look properly.

Woofie267 01-01-2012 04:00 AM

"Stadium's directly that way, and the hotel the teams are staying at is up that hill." Aya pointed up the only hill on the island, providing a nice view of everything else from the top of it.

Kurama nodded his understanding. "I see. Anything else?"

"Not much. Woods here, a little cleared training area on the other side of the hotel. That's pretty much it."

Sunday Roast 01-01-2012 04:14 AM

As each area was pointed out, Hiei looked towards it and took a mental note. Once they were in the hotel he'd be able to get a better view of the island, but this would do for now. Turning, the male started towards the hotel.

Lux looked up to the hotel on the hill and cocked her head. "What's our room number?"She asked, looking from Aya to Kurama.

Woofie267 01-01-2012 04:16 AM

"510. We'll be up on the fifth floor." Kurama started after Hiei, giving his friend some room. He knew his friend was not pleased with the situation, and it was generally a good idea not to push him too far. "I believe there are two bedrooms in the suite."

Aya shrugged. She didn't care either way, but Lux might. She wasn't quite sure yet. She glanced over at Lux before heading for the hotel. "Well, we can always call rooms when we get there and see what it looks like."

Sunday Roast 01-01-2012 04:32 AM

510? Right up on the fifth floor? Slipping in and out as he pleased shouldn't be much of a problem, he'd jumped from higher platforms before. There were only two bedrooms? No way he was sharing with one of those two. Not only because he didn't know them, but they were females and assumed they'd rather have a room to themselves.

"I'm fine with whatever." The bedroom arrangements didn't bother her, all she needed was somewhere to wash and change, while sleep wasn't something she needed, it was often easier than spending so much time awake with nothing to do. Upon reaching the hotel, she headed inside and looked around. This place was nicer than she'd thought it would be.

Woofie267 01-01-2012 04:35 AM

Aya whistled quietly. They'd done some renovations on this place, she could tell. Everything looked fancy and shiny and new. Probably because of the really rich humans and demons that often stayed here during the competitions.

She didn't stick around to admire for long, though. She went straight for the stairs, heading up to the fifth floor and waiting patiently to be let in, listening to everything around them.

Kurama opened the door using the only key he'd gotten, motioning for the two females to enter first. He was a gentleman, and it was easier to let them go first in case there was some kind of trap, which he doubted seriously, but one could never be sure.
