History: After the death of her father, she's always been able to see the ghosts of those who've passed- along with the massive, black monsters ( as she calls the hollows ) that accompany them. She tells no one of it, but lately it seems that they're popping up more often.

Takao Isobe, sixth seat of division 7 was patrolling the area for Hollows . The Soul Society had been concerned that more had been breaking through more often than usual . He had been assigned soon after he got the promotion to sixth seat and was to investigate why they were more active. This was his first time here in the Living World and had only been here a few hours before he had to fight hollows. Takao hoped he could find out what was going on.

Sweat beaded along the forehead of Aysel, her heart beating quickly in her chest as her feet swung forward with as much force as she'd ever put into them. She ran as fast as she could, pushing her limits as the figure behind her persisted. One of those monsters she'd been spotting all around town lately had again decided to follow her, this one more aggressive than any others she'd ever met. It towered over her easily, swinging its limbs recklessly as her and hitting random things, such as garbage cans, along the way. Those around her didn't see it, as she'd found out they weren't able to when she was little, so all to be seen really was a girl running while things behind her flew astray. Taking a quick turn, hoping to gain some time, Aysel stood wide-eyed, looking up at the dead end of an alleyway. She was trapped.

Takao sensed a hollow near his location and shupoed there . He saw the Hollow in an alley, not sure if it was a plus soul that was cornered. He sent out pulse of reiatsu to distract the Hollow and unsheathed his zanpaktou. He blocked a claw strike and jumped up in the air , where it would be safer to battle .

Aysel stared up at the hollow in fear, thinking that perhaps she was done for. However, as she saw another figure near, she soon realized that she might have a chance. She'd never seen a man of the sort before, carrying a sword and dressed oddly. His actions in distracting the black mass of monster surprised her, leading her to gasp as she stared up into the air, where he now seemed to almost float.

Takao dodged a tail swipe and fought the hollow with all his strength, bringing down his zanpaktou on the hollow's mask. He landed on the ground feeling a little unnerved by why the hollows were attacking. Takao saw that what he thought was a Plus soul , was really a Human. He would have to keep an eye on her and shunpoed out of sight, but not too far where he couldn't sense her.

Aysel watched in awe as the odd man fought the hollow, her back pressed to the cool brick of the building behind her as she watched the two curiously. It was perhaps the weirdest of things shed ever witnessed, and the most frightening by far. As the fight ended, she let out a sigh of relief. Her gaze then moved to look at him, confused, before he seemed to simply disappear. She stayed still for a moment later before sighing and leaving the alley, making herr way home quickly now.

Takao followed her spirit pressure as she walked. If she was the one that the hollows were targeting, he didn't want her to get hurt. There had to be a reason that they were targeting her. He wasn't sure if she could see him, hoping she couldn't .He didn't want to make his presence known.

She jogged the rest of her way home, slipping in through the front door of her antique shop before then locking the door and moving upstairs to her actual living quarters. She sighed softly as she went about making herself dinner, she open window to her apartment catching her eyes a few times. Finally, she went to go look out it, then shaking her head a bit and frowning slightly. "Dead people, black and white creatures, and now a samurai guy..." she spoke softly to herself, letting out a soft sigh. It was then that she had an inkling, slight if anything. When she was around dead souls, and just now when she saw the man and that creature, she felt an odd pressure. She now felt it again, which was odd because she was supposedly alone. Sighing she decided to do something that might seem foolish, "Are you... Out here? Anything?" she asked hesitantly in no direction in particular.

Takao heard her ask if someone was out there. He was near her apartment and guessed if she was asking if someone was there she could see him. He debated on whether to reply , but decided not to, at least for now. He wanted to be somewhere out of the open, so she wouldn't seem crazy to the other humans.

She sighed softly to herself, shaking her head a bit before closing the window. Maybe she was just imagining the whole thing. After all, who else saw invisible samurai who slayed massive beasts? It all was very odd, so she went back to cooking her dinner in peace. After a few hours she slipped into bed, falling fast asleep. It was three in the morning when another few hollows would enter the area, rather clear to her apartment, making her wake up. It didn't take long for her to see a black claw at her window, making her gasp as she scrambled out of bed. What she didn't expect was what came next, a hollow entering her apartment forcefully through the window, leaving her to simply further back into her apartment.

Takao saw the hollow enter the woman's apartment and sent a pulse of reiatsu to distract it. He had to keep that woman safe. He had entered he apartment and had dodged a claw strike before striking down on the mask. He could see she was terrified and had to gain her trust. " Are you alright ? " He asked in a kind voice.

She stared in shock and awe as the man from earlier again came to her rescue. Just who was this man? She hesitantly answered with a nod, running a hand through her somewhat messy hair, as she tried to collect herself. After just waking up, she was still a bit disoriented even after being startled like so. "Yes, thank you..." she replied slowly, hesitantly as she looked him over, unsure if he should really be trusted either. "Are you... One of the departed?" she finally asked after a few moments of being quiet and keeping her thoughts to herself.

" You could say that I am. I'm a Soul Reaper. My duty is to kill hollows and to help the departed pass on to the next life. My name is Takao Isobe." He said hoping to gain her trust. He knew he would have to find out why the Hollows wanted he so badly.

She looked at hm hesitantly for a moment longer before relaxing a bit. She sighed softly, grinning a bit towards him as she tried to take in that information. She'd never once seen a soul reaper aside from him, so int was hard to add to her growing list of paranormal things. "Nice to meet you. My name is Ai Atsuki," she replied oddly, finding it a bit weird to be meeting someone in her pajamas. Then, still confused, she asked, "Hollows are those large... Creatures, then, right?" She then paused, having forgotten her manners, "Thank you for helping me out earlier."

" It is nice to meet you Ai. Yes . Hollows are those large creatures. And you are welcome. I hope I am able to find why the hollows are after you. " He said , knowing he would have to repair her wall. He had to figure a way to be here and prevent her from getting hurt.

Her eyebrows furrowed together slightly at the trout of them being after her for some reason, but she decided there were other things to worry about. She still had what seemed like a million questions for the man. And then there was the problem of the fresh hole in her hall. Sighing softly, she grinned towards him, "Well, are you staying in a hotel in town, or...?" she was still rather confused when it came to how a soul reaper would live, if they werew alive for that matter, and why he was helping her out. Then looking to her window, she murmured, "I can probably hang a sheet over that for now..."

" I'm not staying anywhere at the moment . Don't worry about the hole. I can fix it before morning. " He would have to get a Gigai before he stayed here any longer. He wanted to be able to blend in while he investigated this further.

Her eyes widened in surprise with him, both because of his lack of a hotel room and his words about the hole. Fixed by morning? And where had he Ben in the middle of the night without a hotel room? Still, him being what she associated as a spirit of sorts, she let out a soft sigh and accepted what he had said. "I have a guest bedroom?" she offered somewhat awkwardly, unsure of it he Ben required sleep. For all she knew, he still looked like a human, and there didn't seem to be any harm in her inviting him to her apartment being that he was a spirit in a sense.

" That would be nice. " He said with a smile, glad that he would be able to keep a better eye on her. He knew a kido spell that could repair the hole, glad for once that he had been in squad 4 when he first graduated from the acadamy.

She would would return his smile with one of her own, then nodding and letting out a small yawn. She walked over to a linen closet beside her bedroom door, taking out a set of sheets and pillows, then opened up the door to the room bnedt to her bedroom. The guest room was of a decent size, with little to no decoration, but the walls were at least painted a pleasant blue color. As she adjusted the sheets and pillows to make the bed up for him, she would then stretch her arms out, rubbing her eyes sleepily, "I'll have to say goodnight now, or I'm afraid I'd keep you up asking questions all night," she laughs softly. "Let me know if you need anything else," she then spoke, sending him a short wave before going into her own bedroom for the night again.

" Goodnight ." Takao said with a smile as he waved back. He went to fix the hole before he went to sleep, making a mental note of the things he would need to do tomorrow. He was glad he found out what the Hollows were targeting , but wondered why they would target Ai. He could sense she had high spiritual pressure, but found that unusual for some reason. He finished repairing the hole and went to get some sleep in the guest room.

She grinned in reply, nodding before slipping back into her bedroom. Laying down straight away, exhausted from the strange events of the day, she fell asleep within minutes. She slept deeply, and in past the time she was normally awake. When she awoke, she awoke with a yawn, then stretching her arms out before rubbing her eyes and getting out of bed slowly. She figured she would leave the shop closed for the day, with her wall busted open and all, and her peculiar visitor. However, when she stepped out into the hallway she was happily surprised to see the hole in her wall was gone.

Takao slept deeply in the comfortable bed and felt rested. He got out of the bed and streched, making a mental list of the things he needed to do today. He knew he needed a Gigai and would have to leave Ai by herself for a little bit.
