"Oh, pleasure to meet you." She took her hand and shook it. "Mchale... You won't be related to Charles McHale would you?" She asked curiously.

"I heard he took my name" Moira replied, "I'm sorry to say, but I have been following you two a bit..."

It was then that Violet noticed the the shimmering. "Whatever for?" She asked curiously.

"He's my husband" she replied simply.

Violet was taken back by this fact. "O-Oh.. I... He never mentioned that." For most people on Genosha, talking about before living on the island was hard. Filled with sorrow and hard times. She had figured Charles must have had a least one girlfriend but a wife?!

"Oh please" Moira raised her hands, "don't be alarmed about it. It was a long time ago"

Violet looked a bit confused, "Oh, I see.... but... how long ago do you mean? I mean, Charles is only in his early to late 20s..."

"He's much older than he looks" Moira replied, "and is not exactly who he says..." she hesitated, "I'm not sure it's really my place. I just wanted to meet you and... and maybe meet him again."

"Wait. What do you mean older than he looks? Those aren't his powers...Moria. What are you getting at?"

"I'm sorry, I-" Moira tried to explain but Violet's powers caused her to fade away.

"No wait-" Violet reached out but she was gone... She spent the rest of her work day puzzled over Moria's words. Charles wasn't who he said he was?... then who... and why would he keep that from her... Or the fact he had been married and was older than he appeared?

By the time she got home with Luke, she was drained mentally.

Just as it so happens, Charles stopped by that evening. He knocked on the door.

Luke was the one who answered the door, he had a box of cookies in one hand and a juice box in the other, "Oh Charlie!" He was rather happy to see him, "Fix Violet! She's letting me eat cookies out of the box and everything!"

Charles blinked, "That can't be right" he plucked the cookies from his hand took out two to give him, "here, go watch cartoons."

"Okie dokie!" He smiled, "Violet's in her room." He raced off to turn the tv on.

Violet was curled up on her bed, a blanket over top of her and the blinds closed. She had just managed to doze off.

Charles knocked lightly, "Violet?" he called

Violet shook awake, "Hm?" She looked around in a daze.

Charles nudged the door open, "oh, sorry. I didn't realize you sleeping" he aplogized quickly, "Luke let me in-I'll go now though" he closed the door.

"Oh no, it's alright. You're actually the person I wanted to talk to. Don't go." She replied quickly. Moving over a bit so Charles could sit down on her bed.

"Oh... alright" Charles stepped into the room, "Are you sure? You look a bit worn out. Long day?" he asked as he sat next to her.

"Yes, I'm sure. I'll sleep better knowing... In a way it was a long day." She sighed, "I met someone today... a ghost. I've never been lied to yet by one but... Her name was Moira... Your previous wife."

Charles froze, "... Moira?" he spoke the name softly, as though afraid to break it, "... what... what did she say?" he asked carefully.

"She wasn't able to say much before fading... She said she was your wife but that was a long time ago which didn't make sense till she said you were older than you appeared and that you weren't who you appeared to be... What did she mean by all that?" Violet asked bluntly.

"I... it's very complicated Violet" he replied hesitantly, looking at her with apologetic eyes, "I wish I could explain it, but I'm not sure it would make any sense to you."

"Then try simplifying it." She needed to hear it. It was driving her up the wall... Who was Charles really?
