Horatio was holding a very confused baby Max before him, "Come on Max! Get over here! Talk to me!" he shook the child a little-not to hurt him but just in mild frustration, "MAX!"

"Where did Max- Horatio!" Ciara said in a very stern motherly voice, hands on her hips. "I just put him down for his nap. " She turned to her father, "YOU KNOW he gets cranky if he doesn't get his full nap in."

"He's insisting that it's the only way for him to get a hold of the adult Max he knows" Beast gave an odd look, "I did not condone this."

"I need to contact him!" Horatio insisted, "Max! Come on! I know you can hear me! Come here now!" little Max started crying.

"HORATIO!" Ciara boomed in the most intimidating motherly voice known to man. "You stop this nonsense, this instance." She pulled Little Max from his arms, trying to calm him down. "You need to calm down and get some rest. We can start figuring things out after that. Now, let my Dad take a look at you."

"No!" Horatio complained, particularly as Beast touched his arm. Horatio pulled away and stumbled, falling back on the floor with a yelp of pain and surprise, "don't touch me... just... just leave me alone" he pulled his legs towards himself and hugged them.

Ciara handed Max to Hank. "Can you give us a min, Big Blue?"

Ciara walked over and sat down besides him, "Hey. I know you're probably scared out of your mind right now but I want to let you know that you don't have to be... You're among friends here. You've saved my live so many times, Time Bug. Now it's time to let me help you... Max will show up sooner or later. I'll make sure to tell him when he's older and can actually remember to come and get you. But for now, can you please just settle down and trust me? I would never let anything bad happen to you... You know that. And we may been able to give you some of your eye sight back well... until your powers come back I'd imagine..."

She wrapped her arms around him, "Ok?"

Horatio took in a deep breath and let it out slowly as he calmed himself, "o.... okay... sorry. I don't mean to freak out on you like this I just... this has never happened before. I'm used to seeing something like this coming..."

She kissed his forehead, "It's alright. It's a normal reaction to what's happening to you.. We'll take it in Baby steps, together ok?" She slipped her hand into his and squeezed it.

Horatio tried to give her a smile, "I suppose with three babies, you'd know a thing or two about that, wouldn't you?"

She kissed his cheek, "Yes, Yes I would. Though none of them are quite walking yet. Ash is a climbing wizard and Lulu seems a little more intelligent than a baby should be." She helped him up and back over to the bed, holding his hand the whole way. "Now, let's get you checked out ok? Big Blue may be big but he's as harmless as a kitten. Especially when he's Grand kids are around."

Horatio sighed and got to his feet, "alright..."

Ciara held his hand the whole time Big Blue looked him over. Hank was rather good, letting Horatio know when he was going to touch him and what exactly he was going to do next.

Little Max seemed rather grumpy, having his nap interrupted. But he seemed more than happy when Ciara placed him on her lap and started tapping his nose and going "Boop" every time. Before he finally managed to doze off against Ciara's shoulder.

Aside from a little dehydration, Beast gave Horatio a clean bill of health.

"See? That wasn't so bad. You hungry? There's still about half a pot of leek and potato soup in the kitchen... If Gambit or Sabertooth haven't gotten to it yet."

"Then we'd better hurry" Horatio grinned a little.

By the time they got down there Sabertooth had eaten the rest of it. Probably to get back at Ciara for chasing him around the house with Lulu. But Ciara whipped something else up in no time at all.

"When in doubt sushi." She said scooping rice out of the large rice maker. She'd gotten rather good at it too. She'd put Max in a baby backpack and was carrying the little sleeping wonder around which didn't seem to bother him at all.

"He seems to sleep through a hurricane... as long as he's touching someone." She picked up a walkie talkie, "Ciara to Sewing mania, I'm making some sushi, do you want some, over?"

"Definately!" Pietro replied through the walkie, "Just finishing up a few things in here, I'll be up in a few. Oh, and I think the kids are hungry to, over"

Ciara looked over at the clock, "Those two have their father's stomach. I fed them like 3 hours ago.... Make sure to bring the kids with you, over."

"Will do, over" Pietro replied and soon enough he was there with the kids.

And there they all sat, around the dining room table. Eatting sushi and breast feeding the little ones.

Horatio didn't eat much, though at least he seemed to be settling fairly well. Perhaps it was for the best that Eric had lost his powers as well, Horatio never would've been able to find himself around if the house kept changing.

Speaking of Eric, Ciara caught him packing one day.

Ciara paused as she was walking down the hall and turned around and into Eric's room. "...What are you doing?"

Eric glanced over to her, sighed a little and replied, "I'm leaving" he stated simply. He had hoped to avoid this for awhile longer.

"L-leaving?" Ciara had almost miss-stepped and fallen over when he said it. She straightened up and continued heading into the room. "I don't understand... why are you leaving?"

Eric sighed again, stopping what he was doing and sitting on the bed to face her, "The simple answer? I'm not a mutant anymore. Never have I felt as though I did not belong in my own city, until now."
