"Oh." She wasn't expecting him to do that, that and the fact she felt another small shock going through her hand when he kissed it.

She pushed the button to resume the elevator, "If you like we could talk more about the subject over tea in the dinning room." She'd been surrounded by teenagers for the past 3 days, she needed to talk to someone who wasn't obsessing over sparkling vampires or Good Witch Ceres.

"I would enjoy that greatly" Eric replied, "If it isn't too much trouble, I have a few questions."

She shook her head, "Not at all. To tell you the truth I could use a decent conversation that didn't involve the latest teen drama."

He chuckled, "I suppose that could be a draw back"

They made their way down to the dinning room. They ordered a pot of tea and a few things to munch on. "So, what do you want to know about?"

"Everything really" Eric shrugged, "I've never seen homo-sapiens and homo-superior working so well together before. All I've ever seen is hate and foolishness on both sides. How can you possibly get anyone to see around that?"

"Well, it was rough at first. What with the US and their crazy intense views on mutants and anyone who wasn't considered normal. They'd been trying to open up the Academy for at least 10 years. But things like equality and freedom of speech go a long way in Canada. The younger generations started campaigns, parades etc, for equality. Saying they'd had enough of all the blood shed and ridiculousness the older people were having over the subject.

There's even a viral video campaign on Youtube that started about 3 years ago. Where someone stands infront of the camera and says "Who cares..." And continues to describe how they don't care that mutants are different then them... That we're all just people in the end."

"A... viral video?" Eric cocked his head to the side, not quite understanding.

She couldn't help but chuckle, "You remind me of my Grandfather. Here." She pulled out her tablet from her purse and loaded a complication of them.

"Who cares if she's 6.7 feet tall and can jump over small houses, I'm still taking her to prom."
"Who cares that he can fly, you're just mad cause he won't pay your ridiculous prices for air travel."
"Who cares if you're black, white, yellow or purple. It's what's on the inside that counts."
"Who cares if they're mutants. You're just a hipcit and need to come out of that cave you've been living in."
"Who cares if they have super powers. Just means they're better at things. You going to discriminate against me for being good at sports?"
"Who cares if they're amazing at things. You just need to man up and realize that hate you have for them... is cause you're Jealous."
"Who cares if there are mutants among us, HELLO it's 2013 we have Gay marriage for crying out loud."

The video went on for about 25 mins. Different people of all different backgrounds appeared on the video. Even a bunch of mutants and super heroes including Spider man and Captain America.

"Intriguing... and... people watch this?" Eric asked, once it was over.

"Eeeyup." She scrolled down a bit to show him how many hits it had gotten "This one has over 4 million views so far. It's this type of thing that's really helped the equality for mutants. " She said happily.

"So... where excalty are you from that you hadn't heard about this? Have you been living in a cave for the last 10 years?"

"Four million people have watched this?" Eric blinked, "huh... I'm from Genosha" he replied honestly, "There's so much focus on expanding the island and getting it self sufficient that we don't get much worldly news unless it's pretty big. Even so, we hear more about Africa than North America since it's closer"

"Oooooh. That would explain a few things. I hear it really nice on the island and from the footage Gordan filmed, it sounds like a paradise." She sighed thinking about it. "Wish they'd open their borders a bit more. It just seems a bit odd from the outside point of view, that people can't go visit the island. I'm sure the ecomdiy would thrive from tourism but I guess you have to be careful with those sort of things... So are you a mutant?" She asked rather casually.

"Genosha thrives off a delicate balance, tourism brings in a whole new aspect that they aren't prepared for." Eric shook his head, "besides, it's been difficult enough to adjust to the new additions of homo-sapiens..." he gazed into the half full tea cup in his hands, "... I used to be a mutant."

Miss Ambrose shook her hands, "Oh I wasn't judging your ways there. I'm sure it hasn't been easy at all.... You use to?" She put a hand on his, "I've never heard of a mutant losing their powers before. Did something happen? If. you don't mind me asking."

"Luther corps" Eric sighed, "they developed a serum, a... 'cure' for mutants. I happened to have gotten in the way of the wrong man."

"Oh my..." She grew quite for a moment. "I'm sorry for what happened to you... I pray no one else suffers such a fate... It must be like losing a part of yourself. If they were to weaponise such a thing.." The thought of her students being attacked in the streets, it was simply horrifing. "Do you know if the X-squad know of this? "

"They are quite aware of the situation," Eric assured her, "all the same, there is no known cure for this... 'cure', so I suppose I'm stuck like this for the rest of my life. A whole new way to learn to live after a lifetime of fighting to openly be a mutant" he sighed, "it is not a simple task"

"No, I imagine it's not... They... They didn't kick you out of Genosha did they?" She asked, not really sure how to ask.

"Absolutely not" Eric laughed at that, "They were practically begging me to stay actually. Genosha is steadily becoming more welcoming of homo-sapiens as of late. Though there is a lot of debate about it still, considering the experiences that the majority of mutants have with them. Most mutants come to Genosha to get away from homo-sapiens completely, they're quite upset about the recent inclusions of non-mutant family members."

"Oh good." She sighed in relief. "I can see why people wouldn't like it... But I think it's great Genosha is letting non-mutant family members in... If it was just mutants isolated from the rest of the world, they'd never learn to heal from the wounds humans gave them... Because if they keep that hate inside them... then they'll be no better than the humans who don't like them. Hate doesn't defeat hate. Only through trust and understanding can we all get through this in one piece. At least, that's what I believe.

I'm sorry. I'm sure you don't want to listen to me ramble on about such matters I don't fully understand myself." She picked up her tea.

"I had a friend that shares your point of view" Eric commented, "I've heard him say a thousand times I'm sure, but somehow it's more refreshing coming from you. Or perhaps, I'm finally ready to hear it." he also sipped at his tea, "Yet the wounds that homo-sapiens have cut into mutantkind are deep and not so easily healed. How can anyone expect a mutant, who spent all their life being hunted and hated, to give their abusers a second chance to do it again?"

"No one should give their abusers another chance. But it's not the entire human race that doesn't like mutants. You can't punish an entire race of people based on the actions of the few. Those those actions should be punished of course. It's through the people, the good ones, that the healing can begin..." she munched on some of the food.

"No one said it would be easy. Or quick but I believe the world is heading in the right direction for the most part..." She stated.

"Hmm" Eric thought about it a moment, "... I have a request, if it isn't too much trouble. Might I return to the Academy with you? I would very much like to see it all for myself"

"Hmmm... There are a couple of seats left on the bus... I'll have to clear it with the school but I don't think that'll be a problem." She smiled warmly.
