Ciara leaned back, "Good question... Hmmm..." She started counting in her head, "6....12....30... 35!" She said proudly.

"Name them." crane challenged.

She cleared her throat, "Trisha Tarry, Mikel Macmaster, Lashawnda Lafortune, Cris Countryman, Sharlene Si... Silberman, Elli Ellerman, Stephen Seppala, Rita Brownfield, Jerry Taplin, Fae Jean, Paul Chitty, Lue Ruano, Nerissa Cardoza, Dione Duryea, Star Paulding, (15) Jonathan Primrose, Charmaine Ocon, Mee Baker, Amee Flynn, Lenore Ober, Maile Fava, Shanon Amore, Debora Smiley, Caitlyn Crane, Janel Dupras, Marx Agostini, Jimmy Wadley, Hunter Ahmad, Kayla Solorio, Phil Commons, Tabetha Bash, Katharine Spinks, January Wanamaker, Phyliss Pinegar, Milton Custer annnnndThomasina Hubner."

"And what are each of them afraid of?" Crane questioned, "surely if you know them all as well you seem to say, then you know?"

"...ok maybe 10 then." She shifted in the seat. "Trisha Tarry is spiders, Mikel Macmaster fears clowns, Lashawnda Lafortune's is highs, Cris Countryman is the dark, Sharlene Silberman's is black cats, Elli Ellerman germs, Stephen Seppala is afraid of her teeth falling out, Rita Brownfield... snakes, Phyliss Pinegar is afraid of death and Hunter Ahmad is afraid of chickens." She gulped, trying to keep her throat moist, " Dr. Crane... May I have a glass of water, please?"

"Normally I would have no problem with that, however considering your particular abilities I'm afraid that will have to wait." Crane replied, "Now tell me about your other friends. Just how well do you know them?"

"...If I wanted to use my powers, do you think I would have already done so?" She pointed out before sitting back in the chair and sighing. "Well, most of them are afraid of losing me... I'm sorry what's the point in this?" She asked curious also not very happy that her throat was dry.

Crane made a gesture towards the camera in the room and a few minutes later someone came in with a cup of water and a straw, holding it so she could drink.
"The point, Ms.McCoy, is to further my research. Every single individual has different fears, different thought processes and while some can be compared to one another no one is exactly the same. You present another source of information for me to learn from."

Ciara eyes almost lit up as the glass came closer, she wrapped her lips around the straw and drank every last drop. "Thank you." She said happily, sitting back in the chair, feeling a little better. "I see. Hmmm... where were we?.. Oh yes. Lets see... Kurt's afraid of mods, Storm is small spaces, Daddy's is letting the Beast take over control,..." She continue to list the rest of her friends and family's fears.

By this point she'd almost completely forgotten about the needles hanging from the ceiling, probably all the photos of her friends and family keep her distracted.

Crane just sat back and listened, letting her talk and distract herself. "What about Logan?" he asked curiously, "the man of endless life and fury."

"Ah-... Well he's... He afraid of..." She felt the sinking feeling return, "Well... He... I don't..." Out of all the people she knew, the one she didn't know their fear was, in fact, the man she was dating. The sinking feeling began to get bigger as her calmed, relaxed expression became that of a more worried and unsure face. "He... He just not much of a talker that's all. A tough man. I suppose he's afraid of showing much emotion, getting too attached to any..anyone..." She said slowly, feeling the hole in in stomach now more like a crater.

"So... the man you are dating, doesn't like to get attached to people?" Crane asked slowly

Ciara's eyes widened slightly as she started off into space, "Yes. No...I mean I don't..." The pit inside her seemed to just become bottomless. She looked away from Crane, "Can we take a break, please?" She asked.

"But we're only getting started" Crane argued gently, "How long have you been dating? By your point of view and by his? How many times have you disappeared on him? What sort of man is always there waiting for a girl who's constantly disappearing with another man?"

Ciara felt her her palms getting sweaty and her breathing started to pick up as he continued his questions. She cut him off on the last question, "IT'S NOT LIKE THAT! Horatio's his fucking son!" She yelled. Crane had hit a nerve. Her fear of her relationship status. Fear that it was over.

"Well that makes it all the more interesting," Crane smiled, "you're running off with your boyfriend's son. From what I've seen, half the time you're about the same age."

She sighed, leaning her head back and looking at the ceiling, "It's complicated. He ages twice as slow as he appears. So when he appears to be 20 he's actually 40... I won't lie. I had a crush on him when he first showed up. But he never took the next step... And I couldn't be with someone who never stayed around for more than a few hours... Hell, whenever he's in my time and others are around, he ignores them. Stays quiet. And then just.. leaves. So I moved on. The feelings linger but who's doesn't remember a crush and remember how that made them feel?

But I can't tell Logan that... I can't tell him any of it... Cause Horatio won't let me... Cause it's 'Not time' or something stupid like that."

"Fear of loss, fear of commitment. Why do you keep falling for men who will never be there for you? It's simple really, you're not ready to settle for one man whom you don't really love."

"You're wrong! I do love him! I love Logan! I love him..." She yelled, and each time the word love came out of her mouth, she broke down more and more till she was crying. "You're wrong. It isn't true! It isn't!" It... isn't..." She looked down at her lap and let the tears flow.

Crane leaned forward, touching her tears with a handkerchief from his pocket, "My dear Ms. McCoy, if it wasn't true, it wouldn't upset you so."

"Shut up! You're just twisting facts. It's not true. None of it. LIAR!" She screamed, wrestling with the resistants even tho it was clear she was going to lose at breaking free. After a few mins of trying to get free and calmed down on her own. Her hair a bit more wild then before. She slowly looked back up at Dr. Crane, a lost saddened look on her face, "...Can I have another glass please?"

"Now now, I have something better" he gingerly picked up a needle from the table, "This ought to help" Crane whispered as he touched the needle to her arm.

Ciara turned her head away, her eyes slammed close, whimpering lightly and trembling or at least trying not to but she didn't yell like she usually did when someone came at her like a needle. She was much more submissive even though it frighten her.

"Just a touch I think" he grinned as he gave her a small dose of the toxin. "Just think about how much you love Logan, and home, and all those people you think you know so well..."

The trip down the rabbit hole was much grimmer than last. Which is hard to believe as Crane's toxin made your worst fears come alive. Force you to live with them. But this time... This time was worst.

It was far worst than any nightmare. Images of her friends and family treating her like dirt, attacking her, even Logan stabbing her with his claws and whispering, "With Jeannie gone, I had to find some kind of replacement... But now you're no use to me anymore."

She felt everything fall apart, her home gone... Her family disowned her... her friends now her enemies... The X squad handing her over to Sinister cause they couldn't be bother to keep her.

In the real world, she tossed and turned, screaming things that the top of her lungs. Tears flowing till there wasn't enough water to make anymore...
