He finished eating, then slowly approached and nuzzled his head into her hand.

"Hm? Oh." She was rather surprised to see the fox approach her but she smiled warmly at the fox. She gently and slowly brushed the fur on his head. "You're most welcome little guy. You're rather big for a fox... thought I suppose I'm not exactly an expert on foxes... are you a spirit fox by chance?" She asked curiously. Thought she won't be surprised if the fox didn't respond, it was possible it was just a plain old fox.

"Not exactly" Loki's voice replied from the fox's mouth as he nuzzled into her hand. He'd never admit it, but there were certain pleasures to being pet as an animal.

Celeste's hand almost froze in mid stroke, and she blinked, "Lo-Loki?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.

"Oh come my dear, just a little more behind the ears" he coaxed.

"Huh? Oh alright." She started to do as he asked, not really registering quite yet. "Wait, no." She pulled her hand away and crawled backward a few feet, "What do you want? Why are you following me! I warn you, I'll scream." And if she did, Thor would come running. He'd already busted into her room once when she banged her toe and yelled in pain. Her poor door.

Loki sighed, his form growing until he stood there as his regular self, "Calm down would you? There's no need to drag the buffoon into this. Quite honestly I came here to apologize-but Thor's been tailing you everywhere so I haven't had the chance to come forward."

"Apologize?..." She blinked and got up, "I...umm... you don't seem the type to apologize for one's actions... no offence."

"Not when it's below me, that's true" he admitted truthfully, "however in your case, I made an error. I didn't realize who you were and that... this place" he glanced around, "meant something special to you. I only saw a neatly pieced together dome of magic protection that I had hoped would through my brother off my trail. Had I known differently, I would have steered clear. Our little tiffs tend to get a tad destructive after all."

Celeste had her arms closed and her mouth into a pout, not quite buying this, "...a Tad destructive is an under statement. Thought not as bad as some of the events we've had to deal with... I umm... guess Apology accepted?"

"Thank you" he gave a small bow of his head, "Now, I suppose I should leave before my brother comes barging in for another round" he sighed, looking rather tired of it all, "I did enjoy the peace and quiet here while it lasted"

"Well, if you stayed in your fox form, I don't think he'd notice." She pointed out. "As from the stories I've heard of you from him, a fox is not a form you usually take."

Loki shrugged and resumed the form of the fox, strolling around her, "And what has that misinformed thug been telling you about me then?"

Celeste turned as he walked around her, not wanting to take her eyes off him, "Well... let's see.." She thought, "He mentioned several preferred forms you like to take and let him know if I saw any... That you're a bit of a trouble maker... That he wishes you would come back home..."

Loki rolled his eyes, "so that he could squash me back into place? No thank you. I was born to be more than just his little brother on the sidelines and he just can't accept that."

"If you want to be more than you were... Why are you causing mischive here on earth? What will that accopli-Gah!" Celeste's legs crossed as she continued to turn as Loki walked around her and caused herself to trip.

In an instant Loki was in human form and had caught Celeste moments from touching the ground. "Are you alright?" he asked, his voice smooth as satin.

Celeste stiffened up like a board, her arms held firmly to her chest, her eyes slammed shut waiting for the impact... When that didn't happen, she opened her eyes and instantly turned red, not expecting to have him caught her.

"Um-Yeah. I.I.I.I... I'm just a little clumsy sometimes. yeah." she stated nervously, starting to get up.

He helped her to her feet with grace and a gentle touch. For an Azgardian of such power he new well how to hold it back appropriately, "You should be more careful" he smiled charmingly.

Ok, who was this person and what had they done with the real Loki? He wasn't acting anywhere near what the stories said he was suppose to act. But here he was, a gentle hand, a charming smile.

Celeste stared for a moment, her hand still in his. Realizing she was staring, she shook her head and pulled her hand out of his, "Ahem. Yes well... Just some of the quirks with having a vessel, I suppose... Why... why are you being so nice to me?" She asked taking a precautious step backward. Not a large one, just a baby step.

"Would you prefer I didn't?" Loki raised a brow

"What? No. No. I much prefer this over the other... I just... you seem different from the way others describe you." She took another baby step back.

Loki sighed, "Because I am not the man that they think I am." he stated irritably, "my entire life has been in the shadow of Thor, on the sidelines. Nothing I did seemed to hold a candle to the mighty flame of Thor, so I can't really be surprised that none of them know anything about who I am. No one gives heed to second place."

"That's too bad... Well it's they're lost. After all, you tend to learn more by failure rather than victory-" She paused and then started waving her hands panicly, "Notthatyou'reafailure or anything like that. I mean, it must be hard to be the younger brother because the oldest always get picked first and.and..." She had taken another step backward and bumped into the side of the house.

Loki stepped forward, his face inches from hers as she had nowhere left to back up to. He grinned and lightly tapped the gem in her chest, "You are adorable"
