Polly shrugged "Don't get mad at me when Miss Turner yells at you." Polly lead him to the other side of the room and into a curtained area. CoCo was resting on Celeste's tummy and looked up when they came in.
"It's alright CoCo. It's just us." Polly stated. Coco was being very protective.

Max's eyes softened as soon as he saw her laying there and he pulled up a chair next to her bed. "Celeste... I'm so sorry" he whispered to her, "this is all my fault..."

"Your fault? Cause you're a mutant?" Polly sat down on the other side, the grey cat hoping down and cuddling with CoCo, "You had no idea what would happen when you took Celeste out the other night? Nor did you have any idea what they'd do once they discovered what she really was." Polly sat back, "Normally Fury would have a yelling lecture about telling people this sort of stuff but after reviewing the tapes. She had little choice but to tell them...." Polly brushed a pink hair out of Ceres' face.

"I should never have convinced her to leave with me" Max shook his head, "This is the second damned time I've put her in here."

"They keep her almost like a prisoner at times... You shouldn't bet yourself up so badly... Besides, she's gonna need all the support she can get when she comes too.."

Max took Celeste's hand and sighed, "I just... wanted her to be happy..."

Polly sat backward on her chair, "...You've got it hard don't you?" She smirked a little. "Someone has a crush on my little sis."

Max startled a little at the comment, "Excuse me?" he sat upright.

"You heard me." She crossed her arms behind her head, "Long walks, Ice-cream, tickle fights... CoCo was right."

"That is simply..." He turned his head away, "We are friends are we not? You are reading too much into it." he gave CoCo a look, "Come now, really?"

CoCo made a faint meow.

"He's right. You did go straight for her hand when you sat down." Polly grinned.

"I believe it is called good bedside manner" Eric responded stiffly.

Polly couldn't help but laugh lightly, "It's alright. I won't tell Ceres. It'll be our little secret." She retorted. "I'm glad she has such a caring friend. She didn't have a lot when she was little."

"Magneto's got a giiirrrlllfriend" Toad sang as he hopped away from Ceres' bed and towards the others, "Magneto's got a-" he yelped as suddenly he was seized by metal rods that broke up through the floor.

Max brought Toad face to face with him, a deadly look in his eyes, "Excuse me?" he spoke in a deep voice, the one that could narrate nightmares.

Toad gulped, "h-hello sir.... yo...."

"Huh. So I guess the casefile was right..." Polly thought out loud.

"D'awwww." Came Ciara's voice. Apparently she was in the bed next to them

Max looked like he was going to say something else but the throbbing in the back of his head was unbearable and suddenly he wavered, grabbing the curtain which in no way could have held him up. He went crashing to the ground, tearing the curtain off with him and Dropping Toad who quickly proceeded to take off.

"Dad! Sheesh" Pietro sped over to help him up, "You seriously need to watch it."

Polly rush over, "You alright?"

It was the curtain dividing Ciara and Cere's beds that fell down.

Ciara turned her head, "You shouldn't push yourself..." She yawned, finally be allowed to go to sleep.

Pietro helped his father up and dragged him back to bed, "You have to be more careful"

"I'm fine" Max waved his hand to put the pole back but his head throbbed again and he accidentally sent the metal flying, "... maybe... a little rest..."

Miss Turner came marching down. She'd left for 5 mins to return soup bowls and learned Max was doing silly things.

She got up in his face, "Bad boy. Eat your soup, pills then sleep." Her expression softened as she pulled out an ice pack for the back of his head. She turned to find some of the brotherhood looking away innocently. "And you. Stop encouraging him. Or I won't make you yummy foods."

"I've been through worse" Max sighed, though was happy for the ice pack.

"Yeah yeah, you're a big tough man and we all respect you" Pietro assured him, "Now do as she says or I won't give you the new outfit I've been working on for three days straight."

Max raised a brow, "it doesn't take you three days to make anything"

"Exactly" Pietro smirked, "it's just that good."

"I know." Miss Turner nodded before heading out.

"It does when you have 3 babies to take care for- Ow." Ciara called, having moved her head too far.

Pietro went back to Ciara, "Hey, you need to relax a bit to. I can't believe he smashed your head in like that"

"To save her life" Max added.

"You couldn't have gone a little easier on her?" Pietro frowned.

"They wouldn't have bought it if it wasn't a real concussion" Max shrugged.

"SERIOUSLY?!" Pietro was starting to look pissed.

"Pietro. Stop it." Ciara called, "He did what he had too...I'm alright."

Pietro sighed and turned back to Ciara, taking her hand and kissing her forehead, "alright, I'm just... worried about you"

"Sometimes there aren't easy choices. I'm alive and I don't seem to have any long term damage... Please don't fight." She smiled lightly at Pietro, cupping his cheek, "I...I didn't think I'd be here...if he hadn't done that..."
