"She's alive" Beast nodded, "But it's not looking good. She's in an isolation chamber to avoid spreading whatever diseases she has on her. Only Logan can go in unprotected. She's dying... I don't really understand what's killing her, so many things at once... I'm sorry."

She shook her head, putting a hand on his, "It's not your fault... At least they have more time together. A little time is better than none..." She lay back and closed her eyes, "Did you know Logan proposed to me as I tried to break up with him?"

"WHAT?!" Beast exclaimed in a rather loud growl as he leaped to his feet.

"Oop. Is Daddy gonna go have another round with Logan?" She asked, her arm resting above her head as she opened one eye to look at him.

Beast's eye twitched and he forced himself to pick up the chair and sit back down, "Not... not right now...."

"Good" Horatio stated as he appeared in the doorway, "because he needs time alone right now." he turned to Ciara, "how are you doing?"

"Look Time Bug, all patched up." She teased, lifting her shirt to show there was no hole anymore... Even though he clearly couldn't see.

"Don't worry Daddy. I don't think I can be in a relationship right now anyways... So many things, I never have time to stop and smell the roses..."

"I can help with that" Horatio quipped, "although roses don't have much of a smell while time is stopped"

Beast took a deep breath and ran a hand through his fur, "You near gave me a heart attack droplet."

"Ciara" Horatio spoke softly, "I came to thank you, and apologize."

"Sorry Daddy... Don't worry about the wound. Accidents happen... But why are you thanking me?"

"Today has been the best day of my life" Horatio explained, a smile on his face, "I realize how strange that must sound. I nearly died with Max, Gotham was destroyed, my mother is dying and you've been hurt but..." he paused, searching for a way to explain, "I finally feel like I'm free of that man. I understand why Gotham's always bothered me, I got to meet my mother!" he actually laughed, "and the strangest, perhaps greatest part of it all, is that I didn't know any of it was going to happen. My whole life I have known things were coming for me, perhaps not intricate details but I knew when something like this was going to happen. Today however... Today has been an adventure I never saw coming. It's been a thrill like no other and I can't say I've ever been happier."

Ciara smiled, "Fear of the unknown." Horatio had always known a great deal of events to come. Much like a person who has been put to a schedule most of their life... Like a lawyer. Always moving, never having a chance for something random to happen. And Gotham was the one place in the world that Horatio couldn't foresee events. "You should go talk to Daddy P. He had the same kinda of eureka moment a month ago or so." She reached out and took his hand, patting it. "Now you know what the rest of us none all knowing people go through every day. I'm so happy you've gotten to experience it for yourself. Perhaps you should visit Gotham more often. I know Oracle would LOVE to have a chat with you.. No spoilers of course." She chuckled, glad to see such a smile on his face.

Horatio chuckled, "if only I could. To be honest, Gotham makes me feel sick. I may have actually hurled when you weren't looking" he scratched the back of his head awkwardly, "I'm not sure what would happen with too much exposure to that environment, but I don't think I should test it." he let out a sigh and walked to the window, feeling the sun shine in on his face he breathed in deeply. A thoughtful look crossed his happy features, "come to think of it, I haven't heard news from myself in-"
The window shattered, Horatio's eyes widened in shock as a small arrow-shaped device drove straight through his chest. It send out a sudden and powerful electrical shock and Horatio screamed in pain as he collapsed to the ground.

"Horatio!" Ciara instantly dropped to the floor, trained what to do with snipers and crawled across the floor to him. "Horatio. Speak to me. We need help in here! Someone! Help!" She yelled. Pulling Horatio's head into her lap, moving him out of sight of the window.

Horatio coughed, blood coming from his mouth as he did so. The bolt had gone straight through a lung and he was choking on his own blood. "C-Ciara McCoy" he gasped, reaching up to touch her face. His fingers brushed her cheek and his eyes attempted to flare gold but they faultered and faded as he fell limp.

Hank was crouching behind the bed, peering up and out the window to try and catch sight of who it was, "I don't see anyone" he stated as he ducked down again and moved over to check on Horatio. He looked for a pulse but there was none. "Ciara, go get the doctor" he ordered as he started CPR, "And stay low!"

Ciara moved as fast as she could, her heart pounding in her ears as panic arose in her. "H-HELP! WE NEED HELP IN HERE!" She screamed rushing down the hall to the Nurse station down the hall. "HURRY PLEASE!" She stumbled forward a few steps, bloody finger prints on her cheek.

A nurse with purple hair and skin ran back to the room with her, Beast had managed to close the blinds and pulled away from his CPR to let her at him. Her hands began to glow as the nurse placed them on Horatio but after a few minutes she shook her head and took her hands away, "It's too late" she said softly, "I'm sorry, he's gone."

Ciara's eyes widened, "No... No he can't be!" She pushed the nurse out of the way and started to pound on his chest. "Breath! Breath Damn it! You can't die, you're suppose to grow old! I've seen it. It's not your time. Horatio Horatio!" She screamed, tears streaming down from her face.

Beast grabbed Ciara's arms, pulling her away, "Ciara... look at him, he isn't exactly younge right now" he told her gently, "perhaps this is just... his time."
It was true enough, the Horatio that had come to save her in Gotham, this man was an older version of him. The watch on his wrist beeped and the numbers faded away, no doubt it had been intuned with his body somehow and now it no longer had a power source.

She trembled and just lay there for a min. "...I'll kill them...I'LL KILL THEM!" She screamed, her eyes glowing bright as she pulled herself out of her father's arms, her going wild as the water from any near by pipes burst out and ripped a large hole in the side of the room. She jumped out, forming her string ray ride. "WHERE ARE YOU?!" She boomed.

"Ciara!" Beast exclaimed, unable to keep ahold of her, "CIARA!" he called after her, "Come back here!"

People on the street startled and rushed to be sure to stay out of her way. On the roof of the building across the street stood a young man with white hair and a futuristic hand-crossbow in his grip. Max looked up at Ciara, glaring at her with loathing for a moment, he couldn't have been more than mid-teens. Unfortunately, as soon as their eyes met he was gone, swallowed up in a time jump before there was anything Ciara could do about it.

An eye for an eye... Slowly the string ray moved back into the room as she stepped back until and tripped and fell to the floor. "Pointless... It's all fucking pointless." She said covered her face with her face. "I won't do it... I won't bury you both." She coughed, another wave of tears coming on. "First Logan... now you... I'm done."

Slowly, she got to her feet. "I spoke to Eric about a memorial to the Time Reaper... Have him build it and bury him there." She said removing the hospital gown and changing into a set of clothes set aside for her. "I'm going to Atlantis."

"Droplet" Beast placed his hand on her arm, "Please, Atlantis can wait, take some time..."

Ciara batted her father's hand away. "No, I can't wait. I... I can't stay here." Ciara rushed out of the room, trying her hardest to keep the tears away. What if that had been the Friends against Humanity? Or one of the other numerous groups trying to kill them.

She went home, packed her bag, informed Eric she was leaving and if he wanted her to have an escort they'd better get their butt to the harbour. She put the dress one Pietro had made; one of the only dresses that didn't get destroyed in his hissy fit.

She placed the box beside Logan's bed with a note which simply said "I can't. I'm sorry." Logan had long since given her a key; which she left in the key bowl and left for the harbour.

She stood by the dock instructing a few men to load the cargo on boat set aside for her departure.

The trip down to Atlantis was relatively boring, nothing of interest happened-which was a bit of a relief after everything else at this point. Collosus had met her at the docks, the only one of Magneto's personal people avaliable at the moment. The man wasn't just tall and silent, he was very tall and silent and he didn't speak during the entire trip, or when they finally arrived in the underwater city.

Emma Frost was just walking up when the ship docked in Atlantis, she looked irritable, "So first I'm told I'm being replaced, and then you take your sweet little time finally getting here-but do I get an actual time set? No, I get a last minute tele-call ordering me to come and meet you." she glared down at Ciara, the woman in her high heels practically towering over the water mutant, "What do you have to say for yourself?"

Ciara looked Emma in the ear and removed her earrings, "Sorry, I was a bit busy being tortured and watching yet another one of my friends killed in front of me." She let her mind roll over the events for a moment before slipping them back on, "I was actually hoping you would stay and assist me, Miss Frost. I had no intention of 'Replacing you.' Though I believe I may be able to connect with his highness on a different level then you. From one royal to another." She turned noticing a large banging, "Please be careful with those, Collosus."

Emma crossed her arms and huffed, "You aren't royalty"

Collosus merely nodded as he followed Ciara.
