Sokka had Suki, Azula had herself (lol), Mai had Ty Lee, and now Toph and Aang was a couple. Being tired of being the only one besides Momo and Appa without a date, she figured she would take a big step and try something else. But, how could she make Aang jealous? It was nearing Valentine's Day, and yet again Zuko was with out a date. He lets out a sigh at the thought. It seemed that everybody around him had somebody special, even his uncle had met someone. It just wasn't fair. He heads out, needing to get away from it all. |
(no, but, that was the picture I found that had both pairings in it lol and don't worry zuko aint there yet, it just for effect to draw others in)
Katara found a lake outside the village they were staying in, she would rather work on her water bending than do anything else right now, it was surely more enjoyable than being lovey dovey with someone. She was lying to herself, but, bending was her favorite thing in the world to do. Especially alone or during free time, though, everytime someone walked by and asked her where her boyfriend was she almost iced them. Katara slowly moved the water around her, the best way to bend was to not move, but, that was the most difficult thing to possibly do. "One...two...three..." Katara counted to keep the pace as she stood in the water, she figured she could learn walking on water later while she worked on the design, it didn't have to be a bloody war all the time. |
(An AU one would be fun sometime though.)
Unbeknown to either of them, Zuko had been staying in the same town. He heads to the near by lake, for some peace. As he nears the lake he hears the counting. All of a sudden he realizes, it's her. His heart catches in his throat as he watches her waterbend from behind a tree. She was gorgeous. |
(We could still turn this into an AU, was this supposed to be AU? I lost track trying to make all four at once. Oh wait I misread that, we could do this one modern setting, I'm sorry I thought you were if it was already modern, we could say its the weekend and they are on vacation if you wish for modern)
To Katara bending was all the same, not everyone had it, but, most did and that wasn't a good thing either, well not most of the time. "One...two...three..." Katara bended the water but her judgement and mind was clouded, so her water bending wasn't working, she was actually almost boiling the water. So she stopped, cleared her mind as much as possible and tried to feel as light as the air did. She felt herself rise a little, but, barely and when she opened her eyes she was standing on the water surface. She took a step and made sure it was true, it was, and her blue eyes brightened as she ran and danced along the surface until she slipped falling towards some rocks on the side of the lake near the little woods. |

Zuko spots her walking on the water and he lets out a small gasp. He had never seen anybody do that before. It was amazing to see. He is totally mesmerized by the sight. He just can't take his eyes off of her. She was gorgeous and perfect and, if he's totally honest with himself, way out of his league. Besides her brother would kill him if he made any moves on her. Hell she'd probably kill him herself. |
(lets keep a somewhat modern theme, then it would be a bit more interesting)
Katara was caught by Aang who came flying down from Appa, he had been taking Appa for a flight and Toph was up there waiting for their date to continue. Though Katara knew who it was and pushed him away as the water circled around her "I don't need you of all people to save me Aang, yeesh, I come out here to practice and can't even protect myself because of you" she was giving any reason to yell at him. He frowned and went back into the air up to Appa and left. Katara let the water fall and sat in the water, she watched him just three days ago flirt with her, and later that day she saw him making out with Toph. 'Tch stupid Air bender' Katara thought as she felt the water around her, but, felt as if she was being watched "Whoever is out there, I know you're there" though she felt like she was talking to herself. |
~Shit.~ Zuko thinks to himself. Of course she would have felt him watching. He backs up a twig snapping under his foot. ~Shit.~ He thinks again. This just wasn't his day. He was very unsure of what to do. He hadn't even wanted to come to this town but Uncle had insisted that a vacation would be good for him. Like bloody hell it was good for hinm.

Katara jumped up and used the water to throw it at the spot to where she heard the noise and it caught someone. When she forced the water behind them to push them forward she dropped her water. 'Zuko? Wait, was? How long Was he? Was he watching me?' Katara thought to herself, the water went back into the lake as she stood now closer to him "Why were you watching me and how long?" Katara demanded to know.

Zuko gasps taken by surprise when the water forced him out into the open, he falls to his knees.. This wasn't good. He heard the demand in her voice. Why? Oh he couldn't answer that. No, she would kill him for sure if she knew why he had been watching, hell and he'd wouldn't blame her. He had a crush on her, but he knows deep down she'll never feel the same way. He had done to many bad things to her and her friends. He uses his powers to dry himself off.

Katara's expression didn't change "What are you doing here Zuko?" she changed the direction of the question waiting for his answer, the water still rising around her now in defense in case for some reason she would need it. Though he really wasn't doing anything against her, however, he did betray her and her friends before so this could just be another way to capture her to lure aang to him. "If you really want to capture us again or try killing us, Aang is up on Appa, go kidnap his girlfriend" she dropped the water and went back into the lake practicing, or trying to.

"Not hear for that." He mumbles. It was like a punch in the gut when she had said that. He had just about to tell her that he thought she was amazing when he saw her walking on the water. But a fat lot of good it would do him. She hated his guts. And as much as it killed him he knows he deserves it. He turns to head back to town. "I saw you walking on water, it was pretty amazing." He says pulling the hood of his hoodie up and heading back towards town.

Katara felt bad about what she said after he complimented her, watching him walk away, she smirked using the water to create a bubble of water and made it splash on his head "Hey, I'm training, why not train with me, or should I tell everyone a girl just whipped you?" Katara was playing, she hadn't had too many to talk to after everyone began to get someone else. |
Zuko gasps as the water lands on his head. He hadn't been expecting that. "Wouldn't be the first time they found out a girl whipped me." He says turning back. Katara had beaten him on more then one occasion, but if he was honest with himself it didn't bother him. He heads back to the lake though. He wouldn't mind training with her. "You know Aang and Sokka won't like it much, you spending time with me."

"Forget them, they're too busy snogging their girlfriends" Though Katara didn't hate the other girls, nor her brother, but, she didn't like Aang pretty much cheating on her. She never even confronted him, she didn't want to see clingy, and right now, she didn't care at all what anyone thought. "Come on, spar with me, we can get stronger by fighting eachother. It's good to learn your enemies weaknesses even when they are your opposite" thought Katara didn't realize how similar they were. She was great at water and controlling it, graceful, smooth, and goes with the flow. Zuko was hot headed, his soul burned with the flame, and his passion as strong as the color goes. But on similar notes, they were stubborn, strong willed, and today unlike others, they didn't have anyone. Katara picked up the water around her "What do you say, a little fun?" Katara asked sounding like a child again.

"Sure." Zuko says slipping off his hoodey and t-shirt to show a wife beater underneath. "This could be fun." He grins. He takes his stance. He knows he'll have to do his best to control himself. Though a part of his mind hopes his uncle won't worry he quickly pushes that thought away.

Katara was in her normal outfit, dark blue jeans, and a elbow length blue turtleneck. She pulled off her turtle neck and had a dark red sports top underneath on. It was 78 degrees today, quite warmer than usual for winter to be almost over with, but, here it was pretty much normal and the water was usually cold until summer came around. Katara pulled the water from around her as she turned using force to push it and throw it at Zuko while at the last minute turning it to ice.

Zuko sends a stream of fire at the ice ball and melts it. "Is that all you got." He says. Though he is very impressed. Before she can say anything he shoots a ball of fire her way.
(oh and owuldn't that be bad if one of the others saw this and thought he was attacking her like aang or something |
(Aang could easily get mad, i thought about Sokka but he is a goofball lol, maybe Aang would be best okay)
Katara brings up the water engulfing the flame and dragging it below the water putting it out. "I should be asking you the same thing" Katara runs over to him, her advantage of running on water was a good thing now and she was quite good at it, though when she tried bending water after throwing some water balls at him following a wave of water, she hadn't thought about what would happen if the water would hit her first. Forgetting about the wave for a mere second was her downfall as she crashed into him and the water followed as she thought she would've pinned him to the ground, they were thrown off balance onto the land and then she wound up on bottom. (if you want to control aang to have him see this, then go ahead) |
Zuko is taken by surprise. His arms go around her as she comes towards him. He lets out an oomph as he hits the ground. At least she wouldn't get as hurt. Aang had seen them fighting and had come back to investigate. He sees Zuko with his arms around Katara. "HEY GET AWAY FROM HER!" Zuko was in the process of helping her up. Aang sends a strong wind and knocks Zuko down. Zuko lands on his arm feeling it crack. He doesn't cry out though.

Katara jumped up to her feet with the help of Zuko, before she knew it she had heard Aang yell, Zuko go flying, and cracking sound. Her mind went into panic mode as she ran over to Zuko "oh no, are you okay?" Katara asked, then realization hit her, Aang started this, he did this to Zuko just like he had the nerve to say and did what he did earlier. "Don't move" Katara spoke as she stood up and ran towards Aang "You are so going to pay for this" Katara pulled the water that was bubbling from the lake and whipped it out towards Aang, she used more force against him than she did with Zuko. Not giving him much of time to react she turned the water into ice throwing spears at her, luckily her water bending teacher, Pakku had given her extra lessons.

"He was attacking you!" He cried defending himself. Zuko stands wincing. This was just all to much. Leaving his clothes he heads back up the path to the town. He would go see a doctor back in town, but for now he had to just leave.

Katara's eyes darted back to Zuko who was leaving "Aang, you idiot, he wasn't attacking me. I asked him to train with me, he's trustworthy unlike you" Katara dropped the water going after his hoodie and hers. She put hers on and ran to catch up with him "Zuko wait, please wait up" Katara yelled out and finally caught up with him

"Trustworthy? How many times has he tried to get me?!" He yells after her. Zuko just wishes she wouldn't bother with him. He really wasn't worth it. He knew that deep down. Yes Uncle always said he was worth it, but if he had been really worth it he wouldn't be an exiled prince.

"Zuko I'm coming with you, the least I can do is make sure you get the help you need for your arm" Katara spoke, her voice showing her stubbornness. It was Aang's fault that he had gotten hurt and oh she would make sure he would pay for that later. "Do you think it's broken or a sprain maybe?" she thought if it was a sprain she could use water to heal it, just like she was taught in the water village, not hers, but Master Pakku's.
