"It is possible Daichi is still alive. I will call you later." Urahara said before Renji had left.

Hikari had did some chores around the shop, while she help the customers. She liked Saturdays since they were slow and gave her a chance to relax. Tomorrow she would do some paperwork and chores that she needed to do. She didn't like being alone since her dad had died, it always had made her sad. She liked having Renji around, even though they had just met yesterday.

((That will be fine. I start my break next week xD.))

Renji nodded in response to Kisuke before he bolted out.

Renji ran into the shop and was relieved to see Hikari safe and sound. He was so worried about her. He felt happier with her around. Maybe he could get Ichigo's help sooner or later. Maybe they could get the gang back together to help solve this mystery. Renji collapsed to the ground and was breathing heavy. He smiled and chuckled. "I delivered the package." He let his head fall back and hit the wall with a soft thud. "That was fun. He is going to call later so could you tell me when he does. Our conversation was cut short." Renji was lying, kind of. It was cut short because of him worrying and storming out to see if she was okay.

Renji closed his eyes. "So do you need any help?"

" Thank you so much. I'll let you know when Urahara-san does call. Not really. It's been pretty quiet so far. " Hikari said with a smile, though wondering if something was wrong.

((I need the break! I am so stressed out.))

Renji slowly got up and sat in a seat. "Want me to go get lunch?" He didn't know what time it was but anything sounded good right about now. Renji didn't like that she was catching on slowly.

" Sure ! The convenience store down the street has excellent sandwiches. I'll give you the money you need ." Hikari said.She hoped everything was alrighy, though had a feeling something bad was going to happen.

Renji looked around for a second. "Oh no! I have some money." He pulled out a small pouch. "It is enough for some food. Trust me." Renji smiled a small smile and stood up. "So it is how far away from here?" He was worried about the distance even if it was just down the street.

" It's a few businesses down. It's not too far really. " Hikari said concerned about the worried look in Renji's eyes. She wondered if it had to do with the possibility that Hollows might get her. She felt safe as long as she stayed in the store, it was only when she went outside when she didn't.

Renji could feel that Hikari was on to him and he smiled. "Sure thing." He glanced at her again before he slipped out of the shop. Walking down the street he shielded his eyes from the sun. He knew he would have to tell you one day and that day was coming fast.

Hikari felt terrible not wanting to tell Renji what she had seen. " I don't want to lose his friendship. "She thought to herself as she went to get a few things to go with lunch. She got the Onigiri out of the fridge and the potato salad and divided the serving in half. She took the plates down to the office feeling sad, knowing too much was happening at once. " Dad what didn't you tell me? I miss you so much. "She thought sadly looking at the picture she had of him sitting on her desk.She had taken the death of her dad hard, wanting to believe he was still alive , but knew he was dead.

Renji got to the small sandwich shop and walked inside. He had neglected to ask Hikari what kind of sandwich she wanted so he just went with a simple ham and cheese. He pulled out his small coin pouch and pulled out just enough to cover the cost.
On the way back he sensed something was wrong but he couldn't put his finger on it. Well, he would bring up what Urahara had told him at lunch. Maybe it would ease up some tension. Renji just didn't want to lose their friendship in the process. It was nice having her around and he enjoyed her company.

Hikari wiped the tears from her eyes not wanting Renji to worry about her too much. She dreaded tomorrow very much ,since was going to go to the cemetery to put flowers at her dad's grave. She didn't want to go, but knew it was the respectful thing to do. Hikari had feeling Renji would be back soon and waited at the register for him.

Renji walked inside and he looked at Hikari. Renji noticed that her eyes were slightly puffy like she had been crying. It was nearing 3pm. He set down the sandwiches and stood infront of her. "What should I do...?" Renji thought for a few moments... he looked at her for a second and took her into his arms the next, bringing Hikari into an embrace. "Everything will be okay... I will protect you. Eventhough we just met I will do anything because I know how it feels to be alone and scared." Renji rubbed her back in small circles, hoping to sooth her.

Hikari just cried as Renji held her.She felt safe with him around. " I'm sorry for you seeing me like this. Thank you so much for all you have done. " She said when she had finally calmed down, and felt like a weight had been lifted. She knew she owed him for his kindness, but didn't know how she could repay him.

He held her close and kept rubbing her back in small circles as her body shook. "Hey, hey, don't worry about it." Renji spoke softly as he pulled away. He gave a reassuring smile as he wiped a stray tear from her cheek. "Lets eat." He grabbed the bag and gave it a shake. "It is getting cold." Renji was trying to lighten the mood the best he could.

Hikari smiled a bit." I'll get the plates. I hope you like potato salad and onigiri. Also what would you like to drink?" She asked. Hikari knew as the time passed it would be harder to tell Renji that she saw him fight the hollows. She didn't know what would happen if she said something, and the uncertainty was bothering her very much.

"Of course I like that stuff" Renji pulled out four sodas. "I didn't know which you would like... so... I got orange, coke, ginger ale, and Ramune original." He bought it on the downlow and looked around nervous. He didn't know if she drunk soda or just tea and water. He was worried about the conversation that was about to come.

" Trust me. I like most types of soda." She said with a smile and put the plates down. Hikari noticed how nervous he looked and hoped he was alright." What kind of sandwiches did you get?" She asked, knowing what ever he picked would be good.

Renji was so relieved but why was he so worried? It wasn't like this was a date. "Well I didn't know what you would like so I got ham and cheese. I grabbed a couple random condiments just in case. What types of sandwiches do you usually get?" Renji sat down and gave a semi-nervous smile.

" Ham and chese is great. " Hikari said and sat down. " I usually get either get the spicy tuna sandwich or the egg salad. " She said taking a bite, glad that she was having another type of sandwich. " I don't want to ruin lunch. Maybe I'll say something about last night until after dinner. " She thought , wanting to put off what she was dreading.

Renji listened closely and made sure he remembered what she liked. "Time to bring it up. " Renji looked at Hikari. "Did you see me fight the hollows?"

" I did see you. " Hikari said solemnly and put her face in her hands. She hoped he wasn't angry that she did see him fight them. " I don't want to lose you as a friend Renji-San. " She said, not wanting to cry.

Renji wasn't shocked and he wasn't angry. "Hey, hey Hikari-chan..." He waited for her to calm a bit. "You won't lose me as a friend, Are you kidding me? Pull yourself together... I have to tell you some information." He would stay quiet until she calmed.

" You do? " She asked in a curious tone and took a deep breath. It felt good to calm down , not wanting to cry again.

Ren ji tried to start easy. "You have powers... The same powers your dad had. You dad was apart of the soul society like me..." Renji paused for a second. I should explain what the soul society is to her. "The soul society is a place where shinigami like me live and souls dwell until they are reincarnated. Soul Society consists of the Rukongai where souls live when they arrive in Soul Society, and Seireitei which is at the center of Soul Society. The life there closely resembles modern Japan. The Modern World and Soul Society are parallel to each other. Families separated by death are rarely reunited in the Soul Society unless they arrive in Soul Society together. People live nestled together like a family of strangers. Shinigami enter and leave Soul Society by unlocking the Senkaimon and using a Jigokuchō. Which is how I got here. Humans can also use such a gate through the use of Reishihenkanki ..." He paused again to see if she was following.
"The Soul Society is ruled by the Spirit King. We have several districts and several squads. I am the lieutenant of squad 6." Renji hoped she didn't mind the long speech. "Now that all of that is covered... To the big thing... Your dad is probably alive... Most likely alive. He is in hiding to protect you... or worse. He has been captured." Renji eyed Hikari, wondering how she would take all of this information.

It was a lot for Hikari to take in, and paid attention to what Renji was saying. " He could be? Is that why I still feel he is alive?" Hikari said, feeling numb. She knew her dad would do anything to keep her safe. " Who would he be hiding from? " She asked after some time had passed . Hikari was surprised about the information about Renji and her dad, though she had always thought her dad seemed different somehow. Maybe that's why she knew Renji was different too.
