Altair nodded. "I will find something for you, then." Because he learned fast, and he'd watched the girls move around their kitchen the last few days.
|
"You don't have to," Iris said. "I don't mind waiting until Anna and Ezio are awake to go find some breakfast." Besides that, the hotel likely offered some sort of breakfast, anyways, so Iris figured they may as well take advantage.
|
Altair shrugged. "Your choice," he said quietly. He figured it shouldn't be hard to find food, not around here, but if she wanted to wait he didn't mind.
|
"We should wait for them," Iris replied, cuddling a bit closer.
|
Altair didn't quite make a face, but he still didn't like Anna much. Ezio wasn't so bad, but Anna he just didn't like.
"I still don't understand why I can't throw knives at her." |
"Because she's my friend," Iris replied. She gave him a bit of a Look. "And I meant it when I said if you throw knives at her, you won't be sharing my bed at all for the foreseeable future." And she would be completely justified in kicking him out of her bed; she was pregnant and hormonal after all.
|
"I never said I would actually hit her," Altair justified, although he wasn't exactly moving to get up either. Not that he had been before. But he rather liked where he was, and he knew better than to test a pregnant woman.
|
"Doesn't matter," Iris replied. She wasn't going to budge on the subject. "No throwing knives at Anna."
|
"Very well." For the moment, anyway. If she pissed him off enough intentionally, there were no guarantees that he'd behave himself, after all.
|
Iris snuggled in for a little while longer, and then reluctantly got up.
"I'm going to go shower," she said. |
Altair nodded, watching her. That hadn't quite been an invitation, and he knew better than to try to worm his way in without an invitation. Unless he started convincing her now.
That in mind, he got up and followed her, securing his arms around her waist from behind and kissing the side of her neck gently. |
Iris heard him get up, so she wasn't surprised to feel his arms around her waist. She tilted her head to the side a bit when he kissed her neck.
"What are you planning?" she asked softly. |
"Nothing," Altair murmured against her skin. "I'm not planning. I'm just doing." He kissed up her neck slowly.
|
Iris sighed softly when he did that.
"And what are you doing, then?" she asked. |
"You'll find out." Altair moved them both forward slowly and gently shut the bathroom door after them.
|
A while later, Iris decided it was finally time to head downstairs to meet up with Anna and Ezio. They had to start looking around Venice for the Order.
|
Anna was having a great time trying to make Ezio try things. Since cereal hadn't existed in the fifteen century, and neither had sugary things.
"Come on," she wheedled, cutting a danish in half. "Just try a bit." Altair made sure he was properly dressed and had all his weapons on him before he followed Iris downstairs, keeping close to her, but not quite stiflingly close. |
"I refuse," Ezio replied, looking at the pastry warily. "That does not look like something any human should consume."
"It's harmless," Iris commented as she went and got herself a few pieces of plain toast to nibble on. "It's sticky and shiny," Ezio retorted. "And it looks like-- well, nothing I can say in public, certainly." |
Anna snorted. "Better watch that tongue," she warned with a grin, taking her half of the danish and taking a bite. And then she pushed the other half over to Iris.
Altair snorted at them and claimed the seat next to Iris's, eyeing the various foods that Anna had brought over to the table. Nothing looked really edible. |
Iris considered the danish for a moment before shaking her head.
"I don't want to tempt fate," she said. "Not with something like that. If the toast stays down, I might try some eggs." |
Anna blinked and then nodded. "Right. Well, here's toast." She slid another plate across to Iris, with toast and butter on the side. And jam.
|
"Thanks," Iris replied, still working on her first piece of toast. So far, it seemed alright, so she even ventured to put a little jam on the second piece.
|
Anna just settled down, finishing off her own breakfast and then amusing herself by tossing an apple back and forth between her hands, idly tempted to throw it at Altair.
|
Iris glanced at Anna, raising an eyebrow.
"Don't," she said. She had a fair idea of what was going through Anna's head at the moment. |
Anna just pouted but tucked the apple in a pocket instead.
"Well, we're ready to go whenever you are. I found a place a couple miles from here that says it's the Auditore villa, so I figured we could go explore that first." |
