"It's the best lead we have," Iris replied, finishing her second piece of toast and pushing the rest away. Two was enough for now.

Anna nodded and got up. "Alright. We'd better get going, then. She glanced over at Ezio before she headed for the front door.

Ezio seemed a little wary about going to find the people with his family name, but he got up and followed Anna all the same.

Iris got up as well, going with her friend. Time to get down to business.

Anna led the way to the villa, glancing over at Iris before she knocked.

Altair stayed at the back of the group, keeping an eye on everything around them. His attention shifted, however, when a young woman opened the door. She was about the same age as Anna and Iris, long hair pulled back.

"Can I help you?" she asked in perfect, albeit accented, English.

Iris blinked. Even five hundred years later, she could still see a bit of resemblance to Ezio. It was actually kind of weird.

The resemblance was even more uncanny for Ezio, because the girl resembled his sister quite a bit. He looked at Iris and Anna to see what they had in mind from here.

"Yes. We're historians, my friend and I, and we were in the area and thought we'd ask..." Anna glanced at Iris before forging on. "We were going through some really old records, like late 1490's, and there was a mention of an Ezio Auditore, but we couldn't find anything more about him later. We were wondering if maybe you could tell us some things?"

The woman paused at that, and Anna could almost see the mad scrambling going on in her head. "Really? I don't think I'm familiar with that name... Ezio, you said? How odd."

Altair's eyes narrowed. The woman was clearly lying, but she hadn't become unreasonable yet. He'd give the girls a few more minutes to try to get the information their way before he went his way.

Ezio could tell the girl was lying, as well, and that interested him. All things considered, since he was the one involved, he wanted to know what the girl was lying about.

"The information we found led us here," Iris said. "Are you sure there isn't any way you can help us? We want to get the records as complete as we possibly can."

"I'm sorry. You could ask my father when he returns, as he's the one who keeps track of the records. But I don't know anything." The girl shrugged.

"Well, that's a shame. When will your father be back?" Anna raised her eyebrows.

"An hour, maybe two?" The girl shrugged again.

Iris's lips thinned a bit and she glanced at Anna. They weren't getting anywhere like this.

Anna nodded, just a little. "Well, we'll be sure to stop by later, then," she said with a pleasant smile. The woman nodded and closed the door, and Anna started moving around the side of the villa, taking note of the windows and the shape of the building.

Iris saw what Anna was doing and did the same, going around the other side. They could collaborate later on about how difficult it might be to get in.

Ezio nodded a bit, approving. Anna had learned well during her training.

Anna paused when she saw a curtain twitch over one of the upper window. Well, well. There was more than one person there. Now to decide if it would be easier to get in now or later when people were presuably asleep.

Altair followed Iris, letting her take the lead for the moment. He had to admit he wanted to see how well she put her training to use.

Iris saw a similar thing on the other side of the house. So, they were being watched. And the fact that the people knew to watch them in the first place made her think that yes, they were on the right track coming here. She went back to find Anna.

"We definitely need to get back here," she said softly to her friend. "Legitimate excuse to come back, and then we need to take a look around."

Anna nodded. "Alright. Well, we can come back in a few hours and see if the father's home yet. We can talk to him and see what he knows." Without actually outright asking, anyway. There would be none of that until she'd determined how much he knew about the Assassins.

Iris nodded. That's what she was thinking, too.

"Then let's go see what else is in the area," she said. "Maybe we can find a few old landmarks."

Anna nodded and started walking, looking around. She recognized the basic layout of most of the streets, and she mentally noted all the changes since last she'd been here.

"It's kind of nostalgic, huh?"

"Kind of," Iris replied. She glanced at the guys. "Maybe you should keep Ezio company... It's probably worse for him."

Indeed, Ezio was looking around as if trying to recognize anything from his own time, and looked a bit let down when he didn't find enough of it.

Anna nodded and strayed back over to him, looping her arm through his.

"Holding up alright?" she asked quietly.

"It... is a lot to take in," Ezio replied, moving his arm from hers to her waist. "It is familiar, but not enough so to find anything I know."

Anna nodded. "Yeah. It's kind of a lot to take in at once." She was quiet for a few moments. "I bet we could bully the Apple into taking us back home, if you'd prefer. We can keep looking for the Order in the US, instead of out here."

Ezio seriously considered it for a moment, and then shook his head.

"I want to help you in any way I can, first," he said. He put an arm around her. "And I don't want to leave you. So either I will stay here, or you come with me."

Anna nodded. "Well, maybe we'll get lucky and later one we'll get some hint about where the Order is and we can go investigate," she said quietly. "So we don't have to stay in Venice. Well, the two of us don't. Iris and Altair can do whatever they want."

"I'm certain you know your friend better than that," Ezio said, looking at Anna. "She will stay as long as you do, as you would for her. And Altair will stay with her."

Anna shrugged. "Yeah, but that doesn't mean they'll necessarily follow us. I guess it depends on what we find out." She moved a bit closer to him.

"And in the meantime maybe we should find somewhere out of the way to relax for a bit. I don't see the point in continuing to search around the city; it's too big. I doubt we'd find anything in one day without some help."

Ezio nodded.

"Unfortunately, I can't help you there," he said. "As familiar as it seems, Venice has changed too much for me to know where anything is anymore."
