"Bahi saw you twitch a few times," Kali said, grinning a bit. "When Tam or I talked over her."

"I never said I was immune to weird," Harry pointed out with a brief grin. "I'm just more used to it than other people."

"Well, you're handling it well now, so I guess I have to agree that you're right," Kali said. She sipped at her tea. She grinned. "Bahi keeps asking why nobody's asking more questions. It unnerves her a little that nobody seems curious."

Harry shrugged. "I'm curious," he admitted. "But I figured if you wanted me to know, you'd tell me. Plus I've asked Bob a few things."

"What is Bob, anyways?" Kali asked. "We've been meaning to ask."

"He's an air spirit currently bound to that skull. He's been floating around for longer than he cares to tell me gathering information." Harry shrugged with a bit of a grin. "He's useful, when he's not being annoying."

"So he must have met other Tryad before," Kali said.

"I would guess so based on the information he's given me." Harry shrugged. "I wouldn't put it past him anyway, he's met a lot of different things over the centuries."

"Impressive," Kali said. She was quiet for a second. "Well, you said you're curious. I can try to answer some questions, if you want."

Harry was quiet for a moment. "Obviously you're three separate people inhabiting the same space, but I've noticed it's not exactly the same body?"

"No," Kali said. "We are, technically, three different people. We share the same core, and our forms are similar, but we're not exactly the same."

Harry nodded. "I noticed you all have to eat separately as well," he said quietly. "And you mentioned mothers and fathers. So there are men and women Tryads?"

"We don't have to eat separately, strictly speaking," Kali confessed. "One of us can technically eat for us all, major organs are part of the common core. We just take turns because we like to, and it's habit. The aspect that eats feels the effects of the food first." She considered his other question. "There are males and females, yes, just like in other races. A Tryad is either completely male or completely female, though, there are none who are some of each."

"That all makes sense. I can imagine it would be rather more difficult if there was a Tryad that a male and two females, say." Harry shrugged.

"A perfect example of the food thing," Kali added, holding up her mug. "I'm the only one of us three who drinks tea. Tam and Bahi both like coffee more, but there's still enough caffeine in tea to keep them happy when I drink it."

Harry snorted. "Now one of them needs to be a wine snob, and the other a beer aficionado..." He grinned.

Kali snickered.

"You want our mothers for that," she said. "Catranne and Shella. Lena doesn't care either way."

Harry snickered. "That's got to be an interesting debate to watch," he said, grinning.

"Not as interesting as you might think," Kali said. "Have you ever seen Tam and Bahi fighting over coffee flavors?"

"No." Harry blinked at that. Over coffee flavors? Really?

"Exactly," Kali said. "It's the same concept." She grinned. "And they fight over coffee flavors every morning that I'm not in charge. Tam likes sweeter coffee, like caramel and vanilla, but Bahi prefers things like cinnamon chai and such as flavorings."

"Ah." Harry shook his head, bemused. "That seems kind of silly."

Kali shrugged.

"We're sisters, not clones," she said. "We have different likes and dislikes. I dislike coffee. Tamara has a fondness for cream soda. Bahiti's favorite seasonal flavor is gingerbread."

"I meant the arguing over flavors, not that you have different tastes." Harry raised an eyebrow at her.

"If you shared space with two other brothers, wouldn't you argue with them over what went into the body?" Kali pointed out.
