"I'll be okay. And if I decide I don't like it there, I'm taking my car and my phone, and I can always drive to Chicago." Christine shrugged. She wasn't overly worried.

"Alright," Kali said. "Make sure to call us, alright?"

"I will. Same to you, alright? Call or text or whatever. We'll keep in touch." Christine set the rest of the pancakes on the table, sitting down to eat as well.

Kali nodded.

"We will," she promised. Cal came down the stairs a few seconds later, following the smell of pancakes.

Christine pushed a plate over to an empty spot for Cal, eating quietly.

It didn't take her long to be ready to go after she cleaned up from breakfast, glancing over at Harry, who also seemed to be ready to go.

Kali ate a bit slower, but it didn't take long for her to be finished, either. She didn't rotate with her sisters this time, but she was a bit more awake after she finished, anyways.

Cal took his sweet time with the pancakes. He was going to enjoy them, damn it.

Niko let Cal take his time, since he didn't often get home-cooked food like that, before he started loading their car.

"Ready to go?" Harry asked Kali quietly.

Kali nodded, hefting the duffel bag and checking the sisters' shared purse.

"We've got everything," she said, looking at him.

"Good." Harry dumped everything in the car and let Mouse get in the back before he got in. "If we're lucky we'll be there before dinner. Without traffic."

Kali got into the car, settling in. She wanted to pull out her iPod, but it seemed much safer to just leave it turned off and in her bag. She didn't want to have to buy a new one later.

Harry was quiet for the trip, though he occasionally made comments or started a bit of conversation. He parked in his normal spot, though, and led the way down to his apartment.

"Here we are. Home again, home again." He pushed the door open with some difficulty, and Mouse went in first.

"Kind of a heavy-duty front door, isn't it?" Kali commented as she slipped inside.

"It's also come in handy more times than I can count." Harry grunted as he shoved the door closed again.

"A door that could double as the entrance to a bank vault?" Kali asked. "What could that possibly come in handy for?"

"Things trying to break in," Harry said dryly. "Mouse is a rather good deterrent, too."

Mouse just looked up from where he was letting Mister rub against him.

"Things?" Kali asked, curious. "Things like what?" She looked around the small apartment, although she didn't touch anything. Tamara was surging with curiosity, but Kali managed to keep her hands in check.

"Angry pseudo-wizards, trolls, demons..." Harry shrugged and dumped his stuff on the couch.

"Oh, that's Mister. He usually behaves. And you can have the bed." He nodded back towards his room which he was (fairly) sure was (reasonably) clean.

Kali blinked as she sorted through the sudden influx of information.

"We can sleep on the couch, it's no problem," she said after a minute. "And don't say you'll take the couch, you have to be at least a foot too tall for it."

Harry shrugged with a grin. "I can always take the floor," he said. "I'm not too tall for that, fortunately." He kicked one of his rugs back into place.

"Harry, we're not taking your bed from you," Kali said. "Any of the three of us will fit on the couch well enough, and we only need the one place to sleep. You keep the bed."

Harry sighed but gave in. He moved into the kitchen to make sure Mister had food before obediently scratching the cat for a minute.

Kali followed, her attention now captured by the cat. Hey, furry thing. She liked furry things.

Harry chuckled and watched Mister bat at the new person. "This is my tomcat that I think is half bobcat or something."

"He's really impressive," Kali said, letting Mister examine her.

"That's one word for him," Harry said with a grin. Mister determined Kali was fine and purred at her.
