Bahiti nodded.
"Alright," she said, "as long as you do the same." |
Niko nodded his agreement. That was a fair trade, after all.
Bahiti hesitated slightly.
"If you stop by," she said, "ask for Tamara, rather than me, alright?" |
Niko nodded after a moment. "I will." That was curious, but he didn't ask why. He figured he wouldn't get an answer just yet.
With that, Bahiti left again. After a moment's contemplation, she headed towards the motel to see if the wizard was really there. May as well spread the love, if they were all going for the same goal.
Dresden was indeed back at the hotel, jotting down notes furiously and talking with Bob. Because of course he'd brought Bob along.
After asking at the front desk about him, Bahiti was pointed at the proper door. She knocked firmly and waited for an answer.
Dresden blinked and went to go open the door, looking down at her.
"Oh, hi." He moved aside to let her in. Bob whistled as soon as he saw Bahiti. "Wow, a Tryad," he said, grin clear in his voice. "Haven't seen one of you in a while." |
Bahiti tensed, glancing from the wizard to what seemed to be a talking skull, and back.
"Bob," Harry said with a sigh. "Sorry about him, he has no manners." He politely ignored the Tryad comment, though he was going to ask Bob about it later.
"Well..." Bahiti muttered. "Since the cat has been let so completely out of the bag..." She looked at the wizard. "Harry Dresden, right? You met my sister Kali earlier?"
"Right." Harry smiled a little. "And in this case, sister means?" Because Bob wouldn't have said anything if she was just a normal human.
"Sister means sister," Bahiti said. "We're just... closer than other siblings." Gently, she tugged Kali to the surface, although she stayed close just in case. She wanted to be able to switch places with her if anything happened.
Kali blinked at suddenly being in control and took half a step back. |
"Oh." Harry blinked. So that's what Bob meant. "Hi again," he said, a little lamely.
"H-hi," Kali squeaked. Then she hid behind the first sister she could, and Bahiti was pushed back to the surface. They weren't used to someone else knowing about them, and it unnerved Kali the most.
Hary blinked again. "Okay, that's pretty neat," he said with a little grin. "Why don't you come in and we can talk."
Bahiti nodded and went inside, closing the door behind her.
"I suppose, since you know now, I should probably introduce us properly," she said. "Our name is Kali Bahiti a Tamara. In particular, I'm Bahiti." |
"So the one I haven't met yet is Tamara." Harry nodded. "Well, that's Bob. He's a spirit that inhabits the skull."
Bahiti nodded to the skull, and then glanced back at the wizard before letting herself get pushed aside by Tamara. The third sister shook out her red curls briefly.
"I'm Tamara," she said. "And if you're going to know about us, then it may as well me be exchanging information with you, rather than Kali or Bahiti." |
Harry nodded. "Alright. I haven't had a chance to figure out much. Bob and I were talking over what it could be."
"We have a theory that it might be demonic in nature," Tamara said, sitting down on the edge of the couch.
"Demonic, huh?" Harry looked at Bob.
"It's possibly," Bob agreed. "There's no shortage of demons who could do this, especially if they teamed up with a higher power." |
"We're not completely certain that that's what this is," Tamara admitted. "It just seems most likely."
"It does make sense," Bob piped up again. "That or a pissed off old-world deity, that happens too."
Tamara blinked.
"What?" she asked. |
