"I think he's young, but he'll be okay." Steve smiled a little. "Besides, I'd rather he have some people he can talk to if something happens."

"I think it might be good for him," Elaine agreed. She snickered. "Ugh, listen to me, I sound like someone's mom. I'm too young for that."

Steve chuckled. "I think you'd make a great mom," he said with a little grin. And he meant it.

Elaine smiled, although she couldn't help blushing a bit.

"I want kids eventually," she admitted. "Not right away, though."

"Not for a little bit," Steve agreed. Because the thought of having kids soon was a little too soon, still.

Steve smiled a little and settled in there, relaxing with her.

Elaine relaxed there.

"I should probably go and practice for a while," she murmured, "but I don't want to move."

Steve chuckled quietly. "Who said you have to practice every day? One or two days off won't kill you."

"He's pretty close, actually," Elaine pointed out, grinning. "Right behind Thor, I think."

"And yet Thor is here and has no delusions of grandeur." Steve paused. "Although I'm sure he'd accept offerings of Pop-tarts and drawings from little girls."

Elaine couldn't quite cover a snerk.

"I bet he would," she agreed. "But you have to remember he is technically crown prince. Next in line for the throne and all that. So technically..."

"Technically," Steve agreed with a grin. "Anyway, one night of ignoring Loki's orders won't hurt was I believe the point I was trying to make."

"Well, that should be interesting." Steve settled in there with her, listening to the others for a bit.

"Sounds like we're going to need to convince Tony that a bakery is not a good idea."

"If by convince you mean protest loudly and strenuously enough, then yeah, I can see that," Steve said. He grinned briefly.

"Besides, Bruce would miss her too much if she had to work in a bakery all day."

"This is true," she agreed. "And the Hulk wouldn't like it, either."

As was typical with superheroes and those they were close to, 'normal' only lasted about a week or so. There were no world-ending catastrophes to deal with, and Spider-man had taken care of the once incident that did happen almost before the rest of the group could even get there. So it stood to reason that it was time for something else to happen.

In this case, it took the form of an email from one Professor Charles Xavier.

Kae read the email from the professor silently and paled a little, handing the pad over to Bruce so he could read it.

"Alright, that was unexpected," she muttered. "I never expected anything to actually come of my training, apart from amusing myself."
