Xavier nodded.

"I would be glad to accompany you," he said. He wheeled his chair around.

Bruce just nodded a bit as well and followed them.

Kae nodded and kept pace with Xavier, looking around the school while they essentially got the tour. The mansion wasn't as crazy as she'd expected, yet. She couldn't help but grin at Bruce.

"Okay back there?"

"Fine," Bruce replied, nodding just a bit. He glanced at Tony briefly to see how the genius was faring.

Tony was eyeing Xavier's chair like it was a personal affront, but he didn't look upset.

Kae just snickered, guessing what he was thinking, and shook her head. So far everything looked okay, although she did want to sit in on a class to get a better idea.

"Mr. Stark, if you would please refrain from scheming to build another chair for me, it would be greatly appreciated," Xavier commented, looking at Tony.

"That thing is ancient," Tony said, not at all surprised. "I could make a new one so much more efficient. And faster. And easier to handle."

Xavier just raised an eyebrow at Tony. He could tell that something important was on Tony's mind, something that was bothering him, but Tony's thoughts were moving too quickly for Xavier to really sort them out just from overhearing.

Tony rolled his eyes and went back to following them around.

Kae paused when she noticed the only other mutant she knew wasn't around. "Where's Jean?" she asked Xavier quietly, frowning a little. Because that hadn't been covered in the email.

Xavier was quiet for a moment.

"Jean is... elsewhere, at the moment," he said at last.

Kae just nodded after a moment. She knew better than to push.

"Alright," she said easily. "Any classes we can drop in on, for a little bit? Or should we wait until a little later?"

"I believe Hank is teaching a literature class as we speak," Xavier replied, gesturing down one hall. "If you would like to take a look, I'm sure he wouldn't object."

Kae nodded and moved over to the room, slipping in and sitting down in the back, just watching. Hank glanced at her and smiled faintly but didn't point her out, for which Kae was extremely grateful.

Bruce hung back, not about to put himself into a room with twenty other people. That was just a disaster waiting to happen. Xavier waited outside the classroom with Bruce and Tony while Kae sat in on the class.

Kae slipped out again a little while later, looking thoughtful.

"Thanks, Professor," she said quietly, shooting him a quick grin. "Mind if I make some coffee? Tony looks like he's starting to go through withdrawals."

Tony made a face at her. But of course he would never turn down coffee.

"You're free to do whatever you like," Xavier reminded her. "Come, the kitchen is this way." He turned his chair around, and headed in the direction of the kitchen and common room.

Kae followed him, grinning briefly when she saw the kitchen. She turned on the coffee machine and glanced at Bruce.

"Need any tea yet or are you still good?"

"I'm alright for now," Bruce replied. "You go ahead, though."

Kae nodded and floated a cup of coffee over to Tony when it was done, taking a bit longer with her own cup. The mansion was oddly comfortable, and she really couldn't help but relax a bit.

Xavier let them enjoy their coffee quietly for a little bit. When the clock hit the hour, he looked at the group.

"If you'd like," he said, "some of the more experienced students are going to start the day's training. You're welcome to observe."

"Training?" Kae blinked.

"Oh this should be fun." Tony grinned.

Xavier nodded.

"Follow me," he said, wheeling towards the observation platform of the Danger Room.

Kae got there and watched, idly leaning against Bruce as she watched the kids.

"That's some training," she murmured.

"Very interesting." Tony smiled. "Bet I could improve it."

"I'm sure you could, Mr. Stark," Xavier replied, glancing at Tony. "Fortunately, the Danger Room doesn't need any upgrades at this time." He looked back at the students going through one of the courses. "And Miss King, to answer your comment, all of the students in residence here have to go through training this way. It helps them hone both their gifts and their control over them."

"Okay, I get that. That makes sense." Kae watched for another few minutes, her head tilted to the side. "Looks like a challenge."

"It's designed to be a challenge," Xavier replied. "There are a wide variety of settings that can be manipulated, and the Danger Room can adapt to simulate just about any sort of situation imaginable."
