"You'd have to bring that up with Fury." Tony shrugged. "To us mere underlings, searching the local bars and swearing at cell phones and yelling his name seem to work best."

Elaine just turned to face him.

"You've hacked them once before," she pointed out.

"More than that," Steve muttered, taking a moment to hide behind his half-drunk scotch.

"Even better," Elaine said cheerfully, her grin just the slightest bit evil. "Just do it again."

Tony snorted and shook his head. "You'd better not let Fury know how conniving you are," he said with a grin. "Or he might try to really recruit you."

Elaine just gave an innocent smile.

"Thinking outside the cube is fun," she pointed out. "You have to, in our line of work."

"I can imagine," Tony said, his voice dry.

"So any other theories on how to find these roman gods?" And damn if he wasn't still having problems thinking that way.

"Most of my theories involve using the gods you're already acquainted with," Elaine admitted. It was the logical link, to her. Have the god you're friends with find the ones you're not friends with. She nudged Kae to see if she had any ideas.

"Well, there's that. Or we could try leaving bait out or something. I mean, it might work."

"Bait?" Tony blinked, looking speculative.

"Yeah, bait. Find a couple of people that like each other but haven't done anything about it yet. Might attract their attention." Kae shrugged.

"That's not a bad idea," Elaine said slowly as she thought it over. "Tempting the Fates, as it were. It could would work very well."

"But who would we have act as bait?" Steve pointed out, sounding a bit uneasy on the word 'bait.' He wasn't quite comfortable with putting someone into harm's way, even if they weren't really in danger.

Kae shrugged. "No idea. I just had the idea, don't ask me for details." She grinned though. "We'll just have to find a couple people."

"I think we should try to find Thor anyways," Elaine said. "The bait idea is good, so maybe we should have each idea be the back-up of the other? Find someone to act as bait and see if we can't find a connection from one god-of-thunder to another?"

"Sounds fair to me." Kae shrugged. "Something should work."

"Given what we know about the Greeks and Romans, we should be able to come up with something that will work," Elaine agreed.

Kae nodded and yawned briefly. "When do you want to head home, Lainey?"

"Soon, I think," Elaine said. The day wasn't quite over yet, but it had been fairly exciting and she was winding down, too.

Kae nodded. She'd figured that too. Hopefully tomorrow would be quieter and she'd have a chance to actually sit and adjust.

"Let's get you ladies home, then," Steve said, glancing at Tony to make sure there were no objections.

Tony shrugged. "I suppose you want him to drive."

"Yes," Kae said emphatically.

Tony snorted. "Fine, fine. Picky."

"Self-preserving," Elaine corrected as she got up and helped Kae up. She kept one leg touching the chair, though, to keep herself oriented.

Kae got up carefully, still not quite comfortable enough to actually use the leg to walk back out. So she grabbed her crutches again.

Tony wordlessly picked up the leg to carry it down. He knew he wouldn't get anything except maybe whacked with a cane or a crutch if he pushed any further just now.

Steve just picked up the keys and went to open the door for the girls. He knew Tony would follow them out, but the girls would be able to at least make it to the lobby on their own.

Elaine stayed just behind Kae, following the sound of the crutches and using her cane to make sure she wasn't about to walk into anything Kae went around. She sighed slightly when she made it to the elevator unscathed.

Kae made it down to the lobby easily and then moved over to the doors. Fortunately everything was fairly quiet and she relaxed, heading over to the car.

Tony got in the car in the passenger seat, leaning back as well. He was content to just sit there.

Elaine got in next to Kae, behind Tony. Steve was the last to get to the car, and made sure everyone was in before he started it and headed back towards the girls' home.

"Well, this was interesting," Kae said once Steve parked, getting out carefully.

"Yeah. We'll see you Monday and then we can talk more about your brilliant plans."

"Like you had a plan at all."

Steve just rolled his eyes and opened the door for Elaine. Elaine jumped slightly and looked a little surprised, but took it in stride and got out. She even managed not to jump when he took her hand and helped her to her feet.

"Thanks," she said.

"My pleasure," Steve replied, unintentionally old-fashioned. Elaine grinned, and went to follow the sound of Kae's crutches into the house.

Kae and Tony exchange a Look but said nothing. Yet.

"Bedtime," Kae said brightly, unlocking the door and opening it. Tony got out briefly to leave the leg for her, and then he went to go get his keys from Steve.
