The Hulk looked at the food warily, glancing at Bruce and Kae and then back at the food. Then, cautiously, he reached one enormous hand down and picked some of it up, sniffing it for a moment before cramming it into his mouth.

Kae put a hand over her mouth to hide her laugh. Okay, he really was kind of adorable sometimes, oddly enough. And he was learning quickly.

Once Bruce was sure that the Hulk knew the difference between the food and everything else (and he made a mental note to go find Tony's edible/not edible list, something he never thought he would need to do), Bruce sat back down next to Kae to keep an eye on both her and the Hulk.

Kae settled in there for a while, relaxing and enjoying her snack. Now she just had to figure out how things would work out over time. And how to keep Hulk from smashing his way out of the tower.

It only took a few minutes for the Hulk to work his way through the food and start to fidget again. He definitely wasn't used to having so much freedom and sitting still through most of it. He wanted to be out and moving and smashing things. He would be doing just that, if Banner and Kae weren't in the room. They were the only two that could and would make him stop smashing things.

Kae noticed the fidgeting. Yup, she knew exactly how that went.

"Bruce," she said quietly, leaning a little closer to him. "We need to find something for him to do."

"Like what?" Bruce asked quietly in return. "If he gets out of here, he'll bring down the whole tower and then start on the city."

"I know. He needs something he can smash and screw with in here." Kae drummed her fingers against her knees. "Rocks or boulders or something?"

Bruce was quiet for a moment.

"I'll talk to Tony, see what we can get up here," he said finally.

Kae nodded. "Good. The sooner the better, I think. He's behaving now but I don't know how long that will last once we leave."

"Not long at all," Bruce muttered as he got up. He held out a hand to help Kae to her feet, trying to ignore the prompt growl from Hulk at the contact.

Kae frowned a little at the growl but let Bruce help her to her feet. Okay, well, there was another issue to consider.

Man she had a lot to think about now.

Hulk frowned when Bruce and Kae started for the door.

"No," he rumbled. "Stay." They couldn't leave him, he didn't want to be left alone. More than smashing, he didn't want to be alone. Smashing took a very close second, though.

"Okay, buddy," Kae agreed quietly, motioning for Bruce to go. "I'll stay here with you." She knew she'd be safe with Hulk.

Bruce looked torn. He didn't want to leave Kae alone with Hulk, but at the same time he needed to talk to Tony about how to keep Hulk occupied and contained until everything could be fixed. That thought made him pause for a moment. He hadn't really known he wanted this fixed, honestly; he thought he'd be better without the Hulk. But now he just felt incomplete.

Kae noticed his hesitation and kissed his cheek.

"I'll be fine," she said quietly. "He doesn't want to hurt me. Go talk to Tony, we'll be fine until you get back."

Bruce hesitated a moment more, and then nodded.

"Call the instant there's trouble."

"I will." Kae smiled again and headed back over to keep the Hulk company for a while. She figured Bruce and Tony would be back in under five minutes.

When Bruce left, the Hulk got fidgety again. He was confused, and he wanted to smash and throw himself against the walls and make noise until things made sense, but he couldn't because Kae was still there and he had to be careful with Kae.

"You doing okay?" Kae asked, looking over at him. She knew Bruce was unsettled, so it made sense that Hulk would be too.

Hulk just grumbled without real words, one of his feet thumping against the floor as he tried not to start smashing anything.

Kae took that as him getting restless. Yup, definitely needed to give him something to smash.

So she was thankful when Tony arrived not even five minutes later with Bruce.

"Well, looks like you two are doing fine," he said with a brief grin.

"Restless," Kae responded promptly.

Bruce hung back slightly, keeping an eye on everything. He wanted to know as soon as the Hulk tried something, so he could get Tony and Kae out of the way in time.

"Want smash," Hulk grumbled. "Want smash!"

"Okay, buddy," Tony agreed. "We'll get you some things to smash." In fact there were some boulders on their way up to the tower, so Hulk would have things to smash in a few minutes. "Let's just wait for Kae to leave, okay? We don't want her getting hurt."

Kae would have been more upset except she knew it was a good idea.

Hulk nodded slowly after a moment. Be careful with Kae. Everyone seemed to agree on that, so it must be good.
