"I do. They still freak out a little bit when I suddenly join the conversation, they're not used to it yet." Tony shrugged. It didn't bother him, but he didn't like upsetting his bots, so he tried not to.
"What do they talk about?" Elaine asked, interested. She absently set her smoothie on her stomach so she didn't have to hold it.
"Me," Tony admitted. "Things going on around the tower, all the new people here. They have access to the internet, so they talk about things they find there."
"Fun stuff," Elaine commented. She grinned. "Makes me want to print out bunch of memes and leave them down here."
Tony snorted. "They know some of them," he said. "They're very curious bots now."
"Moon Moon?" Elaine challenged, grinning. "That one's new. I'm betting they already know about Epiphany Stoner and Philosoraptor, and all those, but Moon Moon is new."
Tony snorted. "Someone's been trolling tumblr," he teased with a grin. "Sure, print some of those out and bring 'em down if you want."
"You gave me a tablet to test out, and I've been bored sitting on the couch for the last month," Elaine defended, grinning. She sipped at her smoothie and resettled herself in her seat.
Tony just snickered and shook his head. He didn't mind, not really. "Almost done with this code," he muttered, typing rapidly.
"And then you have to somehow corral Dummy and make him sit still?" Elaine asked.
"Yup. I'll probably get You and Butterfingers first, just because they're easier and provide a good example. Not that it's ever helped, but still." Tony shrugged.
"Fun." She rubbed her belly a bit, being careful of the bruises, and watched Tony with his bots. The twins shifted and squirmed, but didn't actively kick.
Tony finished the software upgrade and got You and Butterfingers without a problem. And then he went after Dummy.
"Dummy, I swear, if you don't get back here I'll take off those wheels and donate you! You would not like Boston College, you'd be sitting there and people would stare at you and you'd never get to make a smoothie again." |
Elaine tried not to laugh, she really did. And her laughter ended up waking the twins, and one of them started to kick her again. So she sat there rubbing her stomach, trying to get them back to sleep and trying not to laugh at Tony and Dummy at the same time.
Tony managed to grab Dummy, holding onto some wires while he did the upgrades. And then he let the bot loose to roll away again.
Elaine was slightly more focused on the twins, trying to get them to calm down. They weren't kicking hard enough to hurt, anymore, but they weren't asleep, either. She glanced over as Tony walked by.
"Come here for a second," she said. "They're kicking if you want to feel." |
Tony blinked but moved over to her, letting her place his hand. "Huh. Feels a lot like Kae's did, only two sets instead of one."
"They're not kicking full force right now, which I'm glad for," Elaine said as one of the twins kicked at Tony's hand. "They're strong, and I bruise like a peach on a good day."
Tony nodded sympathetically. "Well, a few more weeks and they can kick Steve instead of you."
Elaine snorted.
"No kidding," she said. She massaged her belly. "They definitely inherited his strength, at least. I'm taking that as a good sign." |
"Might as well. Good sign, except you'll have two kids two are going to be stronger and faster and possibly more durable than average. Although, hey, might be a good thing, won't have to worry about dropping them on their heads, right?" Tony grinned to show he was just teasing.
"Two kids with a father equally as strong and fast and durable," Elaine pointed out, rolling her eyes at his tease. "For now, I'm just hoping they take pity on their more fragile mother for the next six or so weeks."
"I'd offer to help but biology isn't really my thing. That's all Bruce." Tony shrugged.
Elaine waved a hand.
"It's just a waiting game now," she said. "I just need to try to keep them inside for as close to the next six weeks as I can." |
"A waiting game that would be easier if they just slept through it all," Tony said with a snort.
