Kae just grinned. She'd find a way to make it work.

"You still want your coffee or shall we pack it up to go?"

"I know better than to waste good coffee," Elaine replied, grinning a bit. "And there's no god of thunder around to put onto a caffeine rush, either."

"Nope. Thankfully." Kae paused at that. "Oh I really hope Tony doesn't try to make Thor's hangover go away by giving him caffeine."

"His problem, not ours," Elaine said unsympathetically.

"It'll be our problem when they come into the library later," Kae said with a sigh. "Come on. Go get your coffee and then we can go."

"Right," Elaine said. Maybe Thor had some good information that would make dealing with his drunkenness worth it.

A little while later, Kae drove them over to the library, parking in her normal spot. "Alright, let's go see what work we can get done before they come interrupt our peace."

"Make an estimate, divide it by half," Elaine said teasingly. "That's how much work we'll get done."

Kae snorted. "Sounds about right, especially recently," she agreed easily. "Well, let's see how much we can get done before the chaos group comes through."

Elaine snickered a bit and nodded as she set herself up at her desk.

Not an hour later, she heard a familiar engine outside.

"That would be Tony," she called to Kae.

"Yup." Kae sighed. "And let the madness begin." She smiled a little.

Tony walked in first, grinning at the girls. "Morning. I see you both managed to get here just fine."

"And not get any work done," Kae snarked, although she was grinning.

Thor walked in right behind Tony, looking much more alert and aware and showered. He wasn't nearly so hung over, now.

"Meeting room's open for you," Elaine said to Tony, gesturing to the door.

Steve looked at the two girls as he entered only a few moments after the other two. "Morning," he said quietly to Elaine and Kae as he passed.

Kae nodded to all three, although she looked at Loki for a few moments, trying to figure out what kind of mischief he'd be getting into. Then she shrugged and went back to work.

Elaine hesitated for a moment, and reached out to try to grab his arm as she heard him walk past.

"Is something the matter?" she asked. "You don't sound like yourself."

Steve paused when she grabbed him, turning to look at her. "No," he said after a moment. "I'm just hoping Thor found out something useful." Because the idea of using someone as bait, especially Elaine, just sat wrong with him. And he didn't want it to come to that.

"I'm sure he found something," Elaine said, letting go of his arm. "He came back too drunk not to have."

Steve snorted. "He went to see you when he was drunk? How did that happen?" He suspected Tony had something to do with it, but he wasn't sure.

"Tony dropped him on us," Elaine said dryly. "Or rather, Tony pointed them in our direction and Loki dragged him to us." She smirked a bit. "Although I have to admit, I thought it was impossible to get him that completely drunk, but it made more sense in the context of 'the Roman god of wine got him that drunk.'"

steve shook his head, looking both amused and exasperated. "I doubt it'll happen again anytime soon," he said dryly. "We've got work to do now." Especially since he wanted to be sure that Elaine wouldn't have to get involved.

"I won't distract you any more, then," Elaine replied. She waved her hand in a vague 'shoo' motion towards the meeting room.

Steve nodded after a moment and headed over to the meeting room to see what the others had to say.

"Find anything new, Thor?" Tony looked at the god.

"Indeed," Thor replied, nodding. "Jove is a most gracious host. He shared his table and his mead freely. And we spoke of all things!" Here, Thor seemed to notice he'd been a bit side-tracked, and got back on the subject. "I mentioned our suspicions. Jove has not seen nor heard from Venus or Cupid in some time, and has not thought anything of it. Weeks, perhaps?" He shrugged. To him, it was a very short time, likely why Jove didn't seem to care, either.

Tony sighed. That wasn't really helpful, and he looked at Steve.

"No," Steve said, already reading his intentions. "Not going to happen, Stark."

"Come on. Plan A didn't work very well, so now we have to go to plan B."

"I won't put Elaine in danger."

"You see any other option?"

"What is this 'plan B'? Thor asked curiously, looking between the two.

"We get bait." Tony shrugged like it was nothing.

"He wants to use Elaine as bait," Steve said, his eyes narrowing at Tony. "Which is not going to happen."

"Alright, fine, you go find someone who has a crush on someone else but hasn't admitted it yet so that Cupid and Venus can screw with them."

Steve glowered at him.
