Sam sees why Cas and Dean have this bond when he doesn't have it with the angel. So Sam tries to ruin things between Cas and Dean (even though nothing is there, except friendship) but he winds up making things between everyone awkward and worse. Dean finds out what Sam is doing and confronts him about why... - - - Start Off - - - Castiel had heard Dean calling him, for some reason he had always answered, unless it was Sam that had tried to call him. Which he has tried before, but, the angel wouldn't answer him. Dean called out again "Come on Cas, I know you're up there" he said in his usual tone, but, Cas didn't show up right away. He was busy trying to figure out something, why was Dean calling him when there was no danger, or was there? Cas heard him yell this time and Cas obeyed as he appeared in the room "What" he stated, he sounded annoyed by being called so much. |
Sam settled down in his seat on his bed, his laptop situated in front of him. He was mostly able to tune out Dean, but he had to admit that it was starting to get annoying that Cas wasn't coming when called. He found it odd, but there was a part of him that was glad, and that was a part he couldn't explain. Instead of thinking too much about it, he shoved the thought to the back of his mind so he could focus on what was in front of him. Which was finding them a hunt. He glanced up instinctively though at the faint sound of wings entered the room. It was about time the angel showed up.

"We need to know if you know anything about a demon called a dream eater?" Dean said as he remembered killing the demon earlier, but, it said something to another demon about a dream eater. Dean assumed it was a demon, though it could have been something else, everything was evil to dean, even angels because of their twisted ways or views of life. Cas looked from Dean to Sam "How did you find out about the dream eater and live?" Cas was confused he knew all about the dream eater creature.

Sam looked from Dean to Cas before pulling up newspaper articles onto his computer. "There have been some suspicious circumstances that point towards the creature being a dream eater. We were going to learn all we can about it before hunting it down." It had seemed like the best idea after all. What good would it do either of them to run in to a fight unprepared?

"The dream eater creature is nothing to take lightly, as legend goes, you just have to be asleep before it can get to you." Cas spoke remembering all humans needed to sleep in the end they would both be in trouble. Cas wanted to keep the brothers safe like he always tried to do, even if they walked right into the middle of something, or where the creature was. Cas knew most of the adventures...hunts...the boys went on. He actually kept an eye on them here and there, but, they became the talk of the heavens when they started out or ever since the crib fire incident. |
Dean nodded slowly. That made sense. That was basically the same as the last dream eater demon they had to face. "Alright. So, do we have to be asleep to kill this thing, or what?" he asked. It was better to make sure this demon was the same as before than to just charge in. Sam ran through the list of items they have and trying to remember if they had any dream root left from the last demon. It's not easy to find and he hoped they did. If not, then he was going to have to start seeing what he could do about finding some.

"The dream creature looks human during the day, but, once night comes it shows its true form. Very few keep their lives after seeing it, if it looks you directly in the eyes while using its powers, then you'll go into a deep sleep. The best way to kill one is to be asleep. Though no one has been able to do it in centuries, it's supposed to help keep the day and night balance, but, this one seems to be taking a different path" Cas answered thinking back to all the times they were killed and he found out about them from another angel brother of his. There was stabbing them, burning them, drowning or crushing them, however, they always had a way to escape into the dream world crossing the line between awake and asleep keeping themselves unharmed and alive.
