"Yes, but I don't know if he expects you to show up today," Tina said with a shrug. "You never really scheduled your next lesson."
Rachel nodded. Tina was right.
"I should probably do that," she said. She paused for a moment, hesitating. "And I should probably go through the tower, make sure there's nothing important that we missed before." |
Tina nodded. "Well, I can go with you up to the Tower," she said. "And I'll be around whenever your next lesson is, so you don't have to worry about that."
Rachel grinned.
"Thanks," she said. She studied Tina for a moment. "You know... something seems a bit different about you, but I'm not sure what it is. |
Tina shrugged. "I dunno either," she said with a bit of a grin. "Not much has changed with my life recently."
Rachel gave her a bit of a Look.
"Tell me what it is," she said, grinning a bit. |
"What?" Tina asked, although she wasn't able to keep herself from grinning. "What did I say?"
"No, you've got this look," Rachel said. "Something's different, I know it is." She nudged her friend. "Tell me~!"
Tina huffed and shook her head.
"Gold thinks I've got a bit of bleed-over magic from spending time around him, or something like that. In short, my plants actually mobbed me and tried to keep me in the greenhouse." |
Rachel blinked.
"Green magic, really?" she asked. Carefully, she reached out with a tiny, delicate tendril of magic and blinked in surprise when it rang against Tina's magic. "Yeah, there's definitely magic there that I don't remember being there before." |
Tina made a face. "That's what I was afraid of," she muttered.
"It's not a bad thing," Rachel said. "Really, it isn't. I mean, it's not just general magic, like I have, you actually do have green magic, I think, but that's not a bad thing for you."
"It's weird~," Tina said with a bit of a pout. "I don't do magic, I do plants. Magic and plants just seems... weird."
"But that's why it suits you," Rachel pointed out. "Magic with plants. It'll make it so you can take care of them even better than you already can."
Tina grumbled a bit. "I don't really need it," she said. "I manage well on my own without magic."
"It'll get away from you if you don't learn how to use it, though," Rachel said. "What happens when your entire greenhouse comes to life because everything absorbed the magic you give off?"
"The plants trap me in there and won't let me out?" It was a fair guess, really. Especially since the plants had tried it already once.
"Or they break out and start trying to overrun the place," Rachel said. "Or mutate somehow."
"Also possible." Tina sighed. "Fine, I suppose I'll just have to learn. I don't like it, but I will."
"You'll be more comfortable with it once it's under control," Rachel said, giving her friend a quick hug.
"I hope so," Tina muttered, returning the hug.
"You don't even have to use it once it's under control," Rachel added.
"Right." Tina huffed. "I'll talk to Gold about it once I get back."
"Alright," Rachel said. She grinned. "And then maybe you can sit and watch my next lesson, see what else I manage to blow up."
Tina laughed a bit and shook her head. "Well, that has entertainment potential, at least," she said with a teasing grin.
