"Good," Emma said. "You said everything is going well with you and Gold? How can you stand living alone in such a big castle?"
Tina grinned a bit. "It's really not lonely. I spend most of my afternoons in my greenhouse and garden, while he's in his workshop." She paused. "Besides which, we really don't use most of it."
"That's right, you do that thing with the plants," Emma said. "How's that all going?"
Tina shrugged. "Fine," she said. "I practice when I want to, Gold doesn't bug me about it, and my plants are doing a little better than they normally would be, in general."
"We're probably going to be invading pretty often for a while," Emma said, making a bit of a face. "I just made a deal with Gold for lessons for Henry and I. So I guess we'll be practicing with you sometimes."
Tina blinked before she grinned. "He's not too bad," she said encouragingly. "He's really not. But he might try to piss you off because he seems to be very amused by pissing you off."
"Great," Emma muttered. "Just perfect." She sighed. "Whatever. Deal's made, so we'll just have to see how things go."
Tina snickered. "You will learn, I can guarantee that," she said with a bit of a grin.
"That's the plan," Emma said, nodding and grinning a bit. "Learning from Regina wasn't working out."
"I'm not surprised," Tina said. "It does take a certain kind of person to teach others, and I don't quite think Regina is that type."
"I have to admit, she tried," Emma said. She shook her head a bit. "It didn't work." She sighed. "I don't even know where this magic all came from, it's not like Snow or David have magic."
Tina shrugged. "I have no idea. I have magic because apparently I spent too long around too much magic. It makes no sense to me."
"I've spent barely any time around magic," Emma pointed out. "I don't exactly live with Regina or anything, you know."
"I know. I was just demonstrating that I really don't know anything about magic in general." Tina shrugged. "So I have no idea."
"Either way, it's there now," Emma said. "In Henry, too." She sighed. "At least the kid's pleased about it. He was over the moon when he started the accidental stuff."
"I can imagine." Tina laughed a little, shaking her head. "He's going to have fun with this. And you never know, having magic might come in handy."
"We'll see," Emma said. She made a face. "This is definitely not what I signed up for."
Tina laughed a bit. "I don't think we ever actually get what we sign up for," she said with a little grin. "Seriously."
"No kidding," Emma said. She paused when there was a knock on the door before it opened.
"Mom?" Henry peeked inside. He grinned when he saw them. "There you are." He looked at Tina and grinned. "Hi, Thumbelina!" Then he looked back at Emma. "Mr. Gold says it's your turn." Emma made an exaggerated face, and Henry laughed a bit. "I know, but you have to learn too, right?" "Yeah, yeah, I'm coming, kid," Emma said, getting up. |
Tina grinned. "Have fun!" she chirped at Emma. She was feeling better, and debating heading back downstairs to watch the fireworks.
Henry hung around once Emma was out the door.
"Do you want to come downstairs and watch?" he asked Tina. "Ooh, or even better, I've always wanted to see the plants you grow!" |
Tina grinned. "Well, then, let's go take a look in the garden," she said, getting up carefully in case her stomach decided to rebel. It didn't, so she smiled and headed for the door. "And we can check in with your mom and Gold after the garden."
"Awesome," Henry said brightly, beaming. He followed her outside, practically bouncing as he walked.
Tina was careful to make sure she didn't make herself sick, but she did get down to the greenhouse, glancing around. With a brief grin, she focused on a few bushes on one side and had them flower, bright orange and red flowers blooming across the bushes.
"Wow," Henry said as he saw the flowers. "That's amazing!" He looked over at Tina. "Did you do that? I thought you didn't have magic. What changed?"
