"You're going to get even worse about fussing now, aren't you?" Tina grumbled, although she did settle down.
"Most likely," Gold said, letting her settle in. "After all, the woman I love is now carrying a child."
Tina chuckled a bit and settled in closer to him. "Alright, I'll try to be good about it," she said.
Gold let her settle in closer.
"I will try to be reasonable," he said. "I make no promises." |
"I figured as much. That's okay. We'll just have to work on it." Tina smiled a bit and settled in there.
"Indeed," Gold said. With that, he settled in as well, content to just hold her and drift off for a while.
Tina yawned and settled in to nap for a while. She figured she had an excuse to, after all.
A few days later, Gold was mentally preparing himself for another round of magic lessons. Hopefully, he would be less distracted by worries this time around, now that he knew Tina was just fine.
Tina was also downstairs so she could keep an eye on the lessons and provide a distraction if one was needed. But she didn't leap up to answer the door like she normally would have, instead letting him get it.
Gold did go to answer the door, opening it and stepping aside so Bae and his family could come in. Because at this point, Emma and Henry were indeed Bae's family.
"Good afternoon," Bae greeted. "How's Tina doing?" Emma and Henry both stepped inside, Henry grinning, Emma looking rather wary still.
"Better," Gold replied, closing the door once they were inside. "Not as ill as before." He walked them to the room he'd set aside specifically for magic lessons.
"Good." Bae leaned back against the wall to watch lessons.
"Henry first," Emma said, going to stand next to Bae for now. |
"Very well," Gold said. He made a shooing motion with one hand. "Go amuse yourselves for a while. I'll find you once the lesson is over."
Bae and Emma both rolled their eyes and headed out of the room to go sit somewhere for a while.
Once they were out of the room, Gold turned to Henry and started the lesson. He was grateful that Henry was such a good student; it made the less go by faster, and break time was upon them sooner than he thought.
By then, Tina had tea and biscuits for the others. She grinned as she settled in at the table.
"How was your lesson, kid?" Emma asked, looking at Henry. |
"Awesome," Henry replied, grinning as he sat down. He reached for a biscuit. "Now it's your turn, Mom."
Emma sighed but got up and went to go head into the practice room. She didn't want to, but she knew she had to.
Gold knew exactly how much of a reluctant student Emma was and did his best to be patient with her.
Tina did check on them once or twice to make sure no one was about to kill anyone, grinning a bit when she saw the two.
Well, at least Gold didn't look too pissed off yet. |
Gold was just as frustrated as Emma by the end of the lesson and he took a few moments once she left the room to just try to calm down. It wouldn't do anyone else good to start magicking people, no matter how good it would be for his frustration.
"Bad lesson?" Tina asked as she walked into the room. "Emma looked like she wanted to throttle you, I figured the feeling would be mutual."
"Miss Swan seems to excel at light magic," Gold said. "Something I am rather fundamentally not. It is... Frustrating."
Tina grinned and slipped her arms around his waist. "All you need to do is get her to a level of competency, I doubt seriously that she's going to use her magic every day. Or even every week."
