"Light magic does not come as easily to me," Gold pointed out, putting an arm around her. "Nor dark magic to Miss Swan. Accommodations will have to be made."
"Find a middle ground?" Tina suggested. "There has to be some kind of middle ground for the two of you to work from."
"I need to look into it," Gold said. "I may have a book somewhere that might help." He made a mental note to contact Belle about it, since she likely knew if he had such a book. He sighed and pulled Tina close. "How are you feeling so far?"
"So far I'm good," Tina said, settling in there. "Henry and Baelfire have been keeping me entertained, and I've had maybe four cups of tea." She grinned.
"Good," Gold said, just holding her for a bit. The quiet was nice after having his castle invaded earlier. He loved his son dearly, but he was also used to his solitude.
Tina chuckled a bit at him but didn't say anything else. Oh yes, she knew he had problems with the regular invasions now, but she wasn't going to tease him about it.
Yet. |
After a few more moments, Gold reluctantly let her go.
"I believe the hot spring will do my knee some good," he said. "You're more than welcome to join me, if you wish." |
"Oh that does sound good." Tina led the way down to the hot spring. It was quiet and relaxing, after all.
Gold smiled a bit and followed, heading into the hot spring as well. Yes, it definitely sounded like a good idea.
Tina let him get in first and get settled. "I cannot tell you how much I love this hot spring."
"I think I have a good idea," Gold replied as he leaned against the edge of the pool and sighed. "This is the best I've found yet for easing my knee."
"True." Tina settled in next to him. "You get to relax for a bit now, at least."
"Indeed," Gold replied. Reaching over, he took her hand gently.
Tina settled in a bit closer to him, keeping hold of his hand. She was more than ready to just relax for a while.
It ended up taking Gold a solid couple of weeks before he was able to finally put together a decent lesson plan for Emma. Henry still proved easy to teach, since the boy had a stunningly overactive imagination, but it took a bit of trial and error before Gold was really able to figure out the best way to teach Emma.
In that time, Tina managed to keep anyone from killing anyone else, which was a minor miracle in her book. She spent a lot of time with Gold, and she even let him come up with a spell to help with her morning sickness.
"Hey, guys, come on in," she greeted when the three came over for another lesson. "Everything good?" |
Emma nodded.
"Yeah, everything's great," she said. "You finally look like you're feeling better." |
"Yeah, well, no more morning sickness," Tina said with a grin. "So I can actually sleep past sunrise now."
Bae made a face at the mention of morning sickness. |
"No kidding," Emma said. "So you're really having a baby with Gold?" Because she honestly couldn't picture it happening. She knew Neil was Gold's son, of course, but clearly Gold had been different back then.
"Yup, unless something drastic happens, which I really hope doesn't." Tina shrugged. "He seems pretty excited about it."
Emma raised an eyebrow.
"Excited?" she asked skeptically. "Alright, if you say so." She paused and looked over when Baelfire suddenly walked off. "Neil?" |
Neil didn't say anything, instead walking into the kitchen. Gold would either be there or in the practice room, after all.
Gold was in the kitchen, finishing a cup of tea before the lessons. He glance over when he heard someone come in.
"Ah, Bae, you're early today," he said. "I trust the trip was easy?" |
Bae didn't respond to that, instead standing with his arms crossed over his chest.
"You never said you and Tina were expecting." |
Gold studied Bae for a moment and put his cup down.
"Until now, Tina had preferred to keep the news quiet," he said. He stood up, planting his cane in front of him firmly. "I assume she is ready to begin telling others now." |
