"It really is," Rachel said, nodding. She grinned. "I finally trimmed my hair some. It's not as unmanageable anymore."
"Figured out a good length for it?" Tina asked with a bit of a grin. "That's good. I'm sure Hook is glad you cut it too, you probably get him to help all the time."
"Sometimes," Rachel admitted. "I've gotten better about doing it myself, though. And I learned how to do a braid with magic."
Tina snickered. "Fortunately just a regular braid is pretty easy," she said. "A bun is too but you'd have to loop it around your head first, you just have too much."
"That's hardly my fault," Rachel replied, grinning. "But yeah, I can usually get it braided by myself, although Killian offers to help me brush it out sometimes."
"Good, just as he should. What about the crew? They haven't been saying anything bad, have they?" Tina pushed over the cookies so Rachel could have another one.
"The crew is fine," Rachel said, obediently taking another cookie. "I think they were wary, at first, but they've relaxed. And Killian's glad to have a crew again, I think. He missed it."
"Not surprising, I mean, he is a pirate," Tina pointed out. "So you've been off having grand adventures and collecting treasure and dealing with a ship full of dirty men."
"Well don't say it like that," Rachel said, wrinkling her nose a bit. "But yeah, off having adventures. Did I tell you we came across a nest of dragons? Oh! Speaking of!" Reaching into her bag, Rachel pulled out a medium-sized jar full of sparking, multicolored scales. "Dragon scales. I thought maybe Gold could find a use for them."
"He probably can, although I may steal one." Tina blinked at the jar. "Wow. Next time I need to go see these dragons."
"They were awesome," Rachel said, grinning. "I was tempted to nab an egg, but Killian doesn't want dragons around the ship."
Tina snickered. "If you do nab one, you can keep a dragon here. Gold would probably love that."
"Or try to smite me for bringing something so dangerous near you and the baby," Rachel pointed out with a grin. "One of the two."
"Nah, he wouldn't smite you, he's mellowing out a bit." Tina grinned. "Besides, it would be useful, so he'd overlook that. And he knows I might throttle him if he gets too protective."
Rachel couldn't help but snicker a bit.
"Well, dragon scales will have to do for now," she said. |
"I'm sure he'll be thrilled. But if you show up after the baby is born with a dragon egg as a present, you'll be the most awesome auntie ever." Tina grinned.
"I'm going to be the most awesome auntie ever anyways," Rachel replied, grinning. "But we'll see what I come across once we sail out again."
"You look for stuff for me and I'll keep growing stuff for you," Tina said with a grin. "Speaking of, are you planning on staying the night? It'll take me a little bit to get everything together for you."
"If you and Gold don't mind," Rachel said, nodding. "I told Killian I would probably be a day or two."
"Not a problem at all. I mean, we've only got a dozen guest rooms or so." Tina rolled her eyes. "You can stay as long as you want."
"Awesome," Rachel said. She stretched a bit in her chair. "I will admit, I'm looking forward to a hot bath I don't have to filter and heat myself."
Tina snickered. "Yup. That is one amazing thing here." She grinned. "I've got soup on for dinner already, so I don't have anything pressing I need to do."
"Well, I could probably use extra hands conditioning my hair," Rachel said, grinning a bit. "Or you have new plants to play with."
"I'll help with your hair first and get these planted first thing in the morning," Tina said. "Next time you visit, they'll be growing and quite possibly larger than you, depending on what all I have."
"I don't doubt it," Rachel said, finishing her tea and standing up. "Come on, a hot bath sounds heavenly right now, and I bet you could use a soak too."
