"I can make tea, honestly," Tina grumbled, getting up to put the kettle on. "I've been experimenting a bit with blends and herbs."
"Create any good ones so far?" Rachel asked. She grinned. "Since you have an entire greenhouse willing to contribute to your stash?"
"A few," Tina said with an unabashed grin. "And yes, I am now growing an herb garden. Not just for tea, either, although the mint blend I'm working on perfecting is fantastic."
Rachel grinned.
"I'm not surprised in the slightest," she said. "I honestly thought you'd have an herb garden before now." |
"I've had a smaller herb garden before now, but now I'm working on expanding it. It's taking some time, since I can't go get as many clippings as I used to." Tina huffed a bit.
Rachel grinned a bit.
"Well, I did bring you back some fun plants," she reminded. "And some exotic seeds. You can have fun with those for a while, right?" |
"Oh yes, I definitely can," Tina said with a grin that wasn't quite manic. "I am going to have so much fun with that fire plant."
"I bet," Rachel said, grinning. "I'll see what else I can find for you while we're out and about."
"And I'll just keep providing you with fruits and herbs and other necessities." Tina grinned. "Maybe we should just get you a wheelbarrow or a wagon or something to take stuff back and forth in."
"I might not even need the wheelbarrow," Rachel said, grinning a bit. "Magic might do the trick for me."
"That too," Tina agreed. "You just have to actually do it, is all." She grinned teasingly.
"I have totally been getting better about magic," Rachel protested, grinning. "I might actually be able to do this properly."
Tina snickered. "Well, you might want to practice a bit first before you get half-way back to the ship and something goes wrong."
Rachel made a face, but laughed some.
"I will," she said, nodding a bit. |
Tina snickered a bit at the look but didn't press further. Instead she set the tea on the table, motioning for Rachel to help herself.
Rachel grinned and poured herself some tea. She took a sip, blinked, and took another.
"I like this blend," she said. "I like it a lot." |
"Oh good," Tina said with a grin. "I'll remember this one, I can pack some up for you too. You do get to have tea, don't you?"
"When I make it myself," Rachel replied. "I don't get it all that often, though, since I don't find it often when we make port somewhere other than home."
"Want me to send some with you? So you can have some whenever you'd like." Tina grinned a bit, knowing she was bribing her friend a bit.
"That would be wonderful," Rachel said. She grinned a bit. "Now what are you trying to bribe me for?" She knew it as well as Tina did.
"Continued bribing for getting me a dragon egg? And or bribing you to come visit more often. Take your pick." Tina grinned.
Rachel laughed a bit at that.
"Well, then, I'll take the bribe," she said, grinning. "I'll do my best to get you that dragon egg." |
Tina grinned, really rather pleased with herself, and nodded. Good enough for her for now.
A day or so later, Rachel finally said good-bye to them and headed back for the ship. She needed to convince Killian that they needed to go back to the dragon islands.
Tina waved her off, grinning at the pile of floating packages behind her, before she shook her head and went back inside to make herself more tea.
