"Put in Miyazaki," Rachel suggested. "As far from everything as possible."
"Good choice." Tina got up to go pick a movie and put it in, and then she settled back on the couch to eat and watch and relax.
Rachel sat back and relaxed, as well, trying to put the earlier thing with the pirate out of her mind for the moment.
Tina was quiet through the movie, and then she got up and stretched.
"Need me to braid your hair again tonight or in the morning?" |
"In the morning is fine," Rachel said. "It'll hold better if you braid it once I wash it."
"Alright." Tina yawned briefly. "I think I'm going to take my shower and go to bed, then."
"Alright, sleep well," Rachel said. "I'm going to head to bed as well."
"Alright. Night." Tina headed back to the bathroom to shower before bed, already planning the trip for the next night.
Rachel, on the other hand, just went to bed. She wanted enough sleep to be able to deal with Hook in the morning.
Tina did Rachel's hair in the morning and gave her a few croissants that came from seemingly nowhere (she'd hidden them on top of the fridge the previous afternoon).
"Good luck with the pirate," she said with a grin. |
Rachel rolled her eyes, but took the croissants and her coffee and headed to the sheriff station.
Hook was still there, laying on the cot staring up at the ceiling with his arms under his head. He wasn't asleep, but he didn't feel like pestering Emma.
She, after all, might actually shoot him. |
After poking her head into Emma's office to offer a croissant, Rachel sat down at her desk and booted up her computer.
Hook gave her a little while to get settled in again before he sat up.
"What in the world is that?" He eyed the baked pastry a little warily. Because you just didn't come across croissants in Neverland or many of the port cities. |
"Breakfast," Rachel replied as she tapped at the keyboard. "Tina made croissants yesterday, and shoved a few at me this morning as I was leaving."
"Croissants?" Hook snorted. "If you say so." He'd only heard the word a few times before, and that was not what he'd pictured a croissant would look like.
"Hey, you asked," Rachel commented, taking a sip of her coffee. She sighed. "Ahh, I love good coffee..."
Hook smirked faintly at that, making a mental note of that. Even he had had coffee before.
"What type do you prefer? Medium or dark roast?" Because once he'd discovered coffee he'd tried about a dozen different types and had learned a few things in the process. Simply because he could, and coffee was tasty. |
Rachel just gave him a bit of a sideways look.
"Medium roast," she said finally. "Light, with caramel instead of sugar." |
Hook blinked. "Caramel? I've never tried that before. What a brilliant idea, love."
"You like coffee?" Rachel asked, raising an eyebrow. "Huh. Learn something new every day."
"Indeed. I've been here long enough to learn about coffee." Hook grinned briefly. "Although I must admit I enjoy it more with a touch of port."
"That doesn't surprise me in the least," Rachel muttered as she got into her work. "Spiked coffee, of course."
"Just for a touch of flavor," Hook protested. "Believe it or not, love, I don't get drunk very often. Yesterday was... an exception rather than the rule."
Rachel just glanced at him and raised an eyebrow before going back to her work.
