"Yeah. Stew is easy. Throw things in a pot and let it cook for hours." Tina shrugged and went to go wash her hands. "And there's bread. White, sourdough, and a French roll. Take your pick of whatever you want, it should all be cool enough to handle now."

"Any particular reason for the marathon baking session?" Rachel asked as she helped herself to some stew and bread.

Tina scowled at an innocent pile of chocolate comfort cookies. "Gold is an ass," she grumbled, going to get drinks for them.

"Is this anything new?" Rachel asked cautiously as she sat down at the small table.

"Yesterday when Emma was trying to pin the murder on him I stood up for him and he did nothing," Tina grumped, sitting across from her, poking at her stew. "And he had been trying to make me sit it out and wait for him. And he was prepared to be an idiot and use magic to keep people out of his shop and give Emma even more reason to arrest him."

"She looked a bit rough when she got back to the station," Rachel ventured. "I think she was stumped for a bit. But I mean, she didn't seem out for his blood or anything, so maybe he's okay?"

"Probably, since I told her it looked like someone was framing him." Tina scowled at her soup, poking at it and pushing bits of it around. "I don't doubt that he'll be fine and shrug the whole damn thing off." Including her help.

Rachel sighed. There wasn't any point trying to get Tina out of her mood, she was going to be angry just as long as she wanted.

"Sheriff Swan asked me what I would do if I wanted to frame someone, so I'm guessing she's following the trail you pointed her at," she said instead.

"Good. I like her, but I don't understand why she was so set on blaming Gold." Tina sighed. "Oh well. I suppose it's not really our problem anymore huh?"

"I guess," Rachel said. She was quiet for a moment. "You know, I kind of get that nobody really likes him. I just don't know exactly why. Not that it really matters, I guess, but I'm curious."

Tina shrugged. "It might have something to do with who he was," she pointed out. "I know he mentioned that he was usually the one making deals."

"Making deals?" Rachel asked. For some reason, that sounded very familiar.

"Yeah. Like the sea-witch in The Little Mermaid? Not actually a witch. That was him, apparently." Tina shrugged. She still didn't really remember him, not from before.

Rachel blinked.

"There goes watching that movie ever again. Or reading the story."

Tina couldn't help but snicker.

"You have to admit, he looks great for some scraggly evil sea-witch."

"I think so," Tina said with a little shrug. "I mean, he never actually said how many things he'd been involved in, but for that many people to dislike him? Seems like he should have fingers in just about all the stories."

"Yeah, he did. Apparently what happened is you asked him for a companion, and he had some magical flowers so he planted one and I came from that." Tina shrugged, even though the thought was still vaguely disconcerting. "I guess it explains a lot about me."

"That... explains a lot about a lot of things," Rachel said slowly. She shook her head quickly. "And it just feels so weird to talk about things this way."

"Yeah, I know what you mean." Tina shivered briefly. "But we don't remember everything so this kind of is the only way to talk about it. Unless we write down stories about what happened to us and what we remember, but that could be even weirder."

"No kidding," Rachel muttered. "It felt kind of weird talking to Sheriff Swan earlier, too, because I was bringing up things I remembered and it kind of hit me like 'she's a real person and I'm talking about things she would have read about in grade school.' It was weird."

Tina nodded. "Talking to people in general around here is still weird, because almost none of them knew me but they still know about me and it's just..." She trailed off, shrugging helplessly.

"Yeah," Rachel said, nodding. "I get that. Though I still think it's weirder talking to the sheriff, because she's... normal, and she doesn't have that 'before' that everyone else does."

"Yeah. Her and Henry. I suspect they'd be the oddest to talk to." Tina shook her head. "Of course, the kid is a little odd to begin with, but."
