Tina blinked. "Wow. I bet he was flabbergasted." She grinned. "I would have loved to have seen the look on his face." She was quiet for a second. "But you know you didn't have to do that."
"He looked pretty surprised," Rache agreed. "And yes I did. He had no right to upset you like he did, no matter who he is."
Tina hugged her before she moved over into the kitchen.
"So, any requests for food? Or do you want to see if we can go through some of what we've already got first?" |
Rachel thought for a moment.
"Let's try to counteract as much of the pastry as possible and go for a salad lunch," she said. |
"Alright. For that we have to go to the diner or the store, I don't have salad stuff." Tina shrugged. "Your choice."
"Store," Rachel said. "That way we can get what you need for those cherry tarts, too, since we don't have that. And restock on some things."
"Alright." Tina grabbed her purse again. "Let's get going, then."
Rachel nodded and put her shoes on, grabbing her purse on the way to the door.
Tina led the way down to the store and started looking around, grabbing flour and things for making more goodies later, as well as things for them for lunch.
"So... Did he ever tell you what his real name is?" Rachel asked after a little while. "Gold. Did he tell you, do you remember it at all?"
Tina shook her head. "No. He said that bit of information was still too valuable. And I haven't remembered on my own yet."
"Rumplestiltskin," Rachel murmured. She looked at her friend.
Tina blinked as the name registered and triggered a few more memories. She shivered briefly. "Okay, never going to get used to that feeling, but yeah. Now that you've reminded me I remember a few more things."
"What do you remember?" Rachel asked. She held up a hand. "Wait. Tell me when we get home."
Tina nodded, going to check out and pay for everything, letting Rachel take two of the bags and carrying the rest herself.
"I remember his house, maybe?" Tina shook her head a little, putting the bags on the counter. "It was one of the times I was wandering around and exploring, and I remember seeing him sitting inside spinning gold." |
"He tried to teach me how to do that, I think," Rachel said. "I don't think it worked, though. I'm not sure."
Tina nodded. "Yeah. I remember something else. Something about his magic and how he used it. Besides all the deals and things, anyway." She paused for a moment. "Something else about who he was, or what he was, or something."
"Something," Rachel agreed. "I don't quite remember it, either, and it's like it's right there."
Tina shook her head. "But I can't quite remember, and it's going to bug the hell out of me until I know." She sighed. "But I bet you he won't tell me a damn thing. Especially not now."
"I told him to apologize," Rachel admitted. "Or rather, I shouted at him to apologize, after spontaneously using his real name." She shrugged a bit. "It might be worth it to stop by the pawn shop later, he might actually have listened."
Tina nodded after a moment. "I'll take him some cherry tartlets and some of the leftover cookies," she agreed after a moment. "He might like that. I get the feeling he's not at all used to people just giving him things."
"I'd imagine not," Rachel said. "Given what we know so far, I'm betting he's had to barter and deal for everything."
Tina nodded. "Yeah, seems that way. Well I'll go visit him a little later."
"Alright," Rachel replied. She gave her friend a quick hug. "Let me know if I need to yell at him again."
Tina grinned. "You'll be the first person I call if I need help with that," she said, still grinning. "Now let's go make lunch and then I'll go tackle that hurdle."
