Tina hugged her back before looking at the ship and grinning.
"So how do you like living on a boat?" |
"Much like living in a tower," Rachel admitted. She grinned. "But with a door."
Tina snickered. "And it moves," she pointed out. "Towers don't move."
"That part doesn't matter," Rachel said. "The most important part is it has a door." She looked at Tina. "A way out. Even better, a way out that I'm allowed to use whenever I want."
"Yeah, I can imagine that would be important, huh?" Tina smiled a little, rather sadly. "Guess I should bring your stuff by next time."
Hook chose that moment to grin smugly at Gold, waggling his eyebrows. |
"Maybe some of it," Rachel allowed after a moment. "I have some new things already."
Gold just gave Hook a flat look, far too tempted to do something more physical like hit the fool with his cane. |
Tina nodded. "I'll make a list of what all is still up there and bring it over sometime so you can let me know what you want."
Hook smirked. He rather liked getting on Gold's nerves. So he let himself drop down to the deck, leaning over the railing to listen in on the girls. |
Rachel nodded in return.
"Thanks," she said. Now here was something Gold could handle. Smirking just slightly, he flicked a couple of his fingers and a shimmering, near-invisible wall appeared between Hook and the girls to keep him from eavesdropping. |
Tina grinned. "No problem. I'd say you should come by sometime, but I don't think you really want to. Besides, you'd probably have just as many problems with him as I had with Gold." She nodded at Hook.
Hook glowered at Gold, tempted to go down there and sock him. But he restrained, instead figuring out other ways to piss off Gold. Like look Tina over rather obviously. Not that he meant it, but she was at least cute (though nowhere near as cute as Rachel when she blushed, he added internally). |
Gold nearly growled aloud and readied a spell. He wasn't going to let Hook get away with that. Not after last time.
Tina noticed and held up a finger, motioning for Rachel to wait.
"Gold," she said soothingly, walking over to him. "Calm down, you don't need to kill him, he's not doing anything." |
"I refuse to deal with him anymore," Gold snapped, the spell still in his hand. "He needs to be gotten rid of."
Tina looked at him for a moment. Nope, he wasn't going to listen to reason. So she sighed and leaned up, kissing him firmly.
Gold blinked in surprise. He had definitely not been expecting that.
Tina pulled back and looked at him. "Calmer now?" she asked, though she was smiling a little. "Or do I need to do that again?"
"I'm trying to understand why you did it in the first place," Gold admitted. "I hadn't expected it."
"Yes, well, I've wanted to do that for a while," Tina admitted quietly, looking off to the side.
"I see," Gold replied. "Then I suppose it's a good thing I don't mind." He gave her one of his almost-smiles. He wasn't about to show all that much tender emotion at all, not with Hook right there.
Tina smiled a little. "Calm down a bit, okay? I'm going to chat with Rachel for a bit and then if you want we can head home again."
"I make no promises," Gold replied, although it wasn't as sharp as before.
Meanwhile, Rachel had gone over to Hook. "Were you antagonizing him?" she asked. "Doesn't that strike you as maybe a bad idea?" |
Tina nodded and hesitated for a moment before she kissed his cheek quickly and retreated a bit.
Hook shrugged. "Love, that is what we do. We've been doing it for years, and we're not likely to stop any time soon." |
"I'll repeat my question," Rachel said. "Does it not seem like possibly a bad idea to piss off the guy wielding magic?"
"Maybe," Hook said with a shrug. "I don't really care if it's a bad idea or not, it's too much fun."
"There's this thing," Rachel said, "it's called a 'sense of self-preservation,' and I'm not entirely sure you have one." She couldn't help but smile a bit at him, though.
Hook grinned back at her. "It's quite possible I don't," he said pleasantly. "Now, love, I believe your fiend wants to talk to you again. Go on, have a nice conversation, I'll be here when you come back."
