Rachel slowly relaxed completely, snuggled in there with him. Gradually, she drifted off into a light sleep.
Hook didn't wake her until dinner time, and then he was reluctant to do so. But he sat up and shook her shoulder gently.
"Rachel. It's time to wake up." |
Rachel murmured a bit in her sleep as she stirred a bit.
"Do I have to?" she asked, blinking sleepily. |
"Only if you want dinner," Hook teased gently, grinning. "Come on, get up."
Rachel grumbled a little, but got up. She rubbed her eyes and brushed her hair back over her shoulders as she got to her feet.
Hook had picked up more food while she was away, so he had a full selection now.
"Whatever you'd like for dinner, love." |
"Thrill me," Rachel replied, smiling a bit. She felt better having slept for a little while.
Hook grinned briefly but started cooking. He was a passable cook, at least. Not great, but certainly not bad.
Rachel sat and watched him, offering herself as an extra pair of hands every so often when he needed more than just one.
Eventually they got dinner ready and set it on the table, and Hook sat across from her.
Rachel smiled a bit.
"Looks great," she said. "Thanks." |
"My pleasure." Hook settled in to eat with her.
"Although, you know, love, next time I must ask that you stay away from islands." |
Rachel looked down a bit.
"I was curious," she said. "It was uncharted, I wanted to know what was there." |
Hook chuckled after a moment.
"I can't blame you for that. But next time, at least wait until I can go with you? I may not know magic, but I can fight." |
"If I waited for that, I'd never get anywhere," Rachel pointed out. "You said yourself, without a crew you're stuck here."
"And as you yourself pointed out, a crew can be substituted for magic," Hook said. "You could learn how to do that, if you wanted."
"I don't think Gold will be all that keen on teaching me, at least for a while," Rachel said quietly. "Not when this is the second time Tina was in some sort of trouble because of me."
Hook shrugged. "He'll get over it. We'll give him time to stop having his little hissy fit."
Rachel looked a little dubious, but nodded a bit and nibbled at her dinner some. Them she ate a bit faster; it really was good.
Hook couldn't help but grin at that, taking his time with his dinner. At least he knew she liked the food.
Rachel finished quickly, although she didn't make any move to get up. She didn't feel like going anywhere just yet; she just wanted to spend more time with Hook.
Hook was perfectly fine with that idea, just stretching out in his chair and relaxing.
Elsewhere, Gold was still annoyed at Rachel and Hook, but not quite like before. Tina was back, safe and sound, and just having her around was helping him calm down more easily.
Tina was still curled against his side, trying to decide when would be the best time to tell him about Neil/Baelfire. She figured if she didn't tell him soon he'd be angry for her not saying anything. But she had no idea how he'd react.
So she decided to just bite the bullet. "When Rachel and I were out, before we went to the island, we met someone who said his name was Baelfire." |
Gold tensed at the name, although he didn't quite flinch.
"Baelfire, you say?" he asked quietly. "And where, pray, did you meet this person?" |
