"Good!" They got to the park and she walked them to the lake.

He sat and pulled her in his lap.

Jade blushed and looked back at him.

"What?" He seemed worried. "Was that wrong?"

"Oh, no it was fine" She smiled and took one of his hands in her own.

He sighed contently and nuzzled her neck.

"I'm glad you convinced me to skip..." She said softly, enjoying how close he was.

"Mmm. Me too.." He was lazily resting against her.

"I.. I really was afraid that you saw me as more of a sister than anything else..." Jade admitted after a few minutes. "I was actually expecting that for a reply..."

He shook his head. "Naw. I really like you...I just..didn't know how to say anything."

"I wonder how long you would've lasted if you never got that note from me...?" Jade asked, looking at him from the corner of her eyes

Dave thought. "Probably not to long...it was just a matter of finding the right words and time."

"would... You have considered right now to be a good time, cool kid?" she turned slightly in his lap so she could face him better.

Dave smiled. "This would be a great time." He started to lean in. "Because. I could just lean in..." He got closer. "And do this..." He pressed their lips together very softly.

Jade's heart fluttered as Dave's lips touched her's and she kissed him back very softly, a pink blush tinting her cheeks.

Dave pulled back. "You're so cute..."

She blushed more at the compliment. "And you're extremely handsome..."

He laughed. "Thanks...I'm glad you think so.."

She rested against the blonde-haired boy. "I've always thought so.." she smiled up at him.

"Well, I've always thought you're gorgeous."

She laughed softly and rested against him. "wonder how John is gonna react when I say that you and I are dating..."

He thought for a moment. "Dunno.. He'll probably be suprised though."

"that'll be an interesting conversation... 'hey bro, yeah I feel much better, also, I'm dating your best friend now!'" she laughed at her own joke

He snrked. "He'll get over it. He's cool."

She laughed. "right, right..." she shook her head slightly an rested against Dave.
