Lilian Crina Ross

Alias: Her father called her Lilly since that's what both of her names come down to.

Age:27

Ethnicity: Romanian on her mothers side
Hair Color:Black

Eye Color: Dark green with flecks of amber around the pupils

Height: 5'6"

Weight:127 lbs

Qualities/Abilities:
  • Energy Blasts: this is normally down with a wooden like conductor to ensure accuracy. Though she has had a blasting rod for this purpose she had been forced to use other unconventional object. Her favorite one was a hockey stick.
  • Spell Casting: Spells are a series of words that, when said correctly in a certain order, alter the fabric of reality to varying extents.
  • Force-Field Generation
  • Healing: of minor sickness and wounds. Can not heal someone's severed arm but does know a great potion for blood rejuvenation.
  • Creation: Create anything and everything from nothing. This is limited to smaller object or simply restructuring something molecules. Think water to wine ((Super sorry if the reference offense you when referring to magic.))
  • Telekinesis
  • Illusion: The power to create illusions. Depending on how much energy she puts into it depends on how much of an effect her illusions can have on the physical world.

    Scrying: a magic practice that involves seeing things psychically in a medium it is also used for tracking other magical signals.
  • Magic users essentially have unlimited possibilities for how they use their power, with only their skill, personal power-level, imagination/knowledge, and/or morality to define the borders. So she is always training to master new forms of magic.

Bio:Before she was found by SHIELD and hired on as a consultant- consultant only as she had reminded them numerous times- Lilian ran a small Magical book store in Portland Oregon. The kind of place that caters to actual practices, teens going through their dark phases, and those of the Pagan religion but really had no magical talents to speak of. Hiring out her particular set of skills as a sort of psychic detective.While she still owns her shop one- her only- most trusted employee pretty much runs it while she is away on SHIELD business. Which is way more often then she would have thought but the money keeps her power on and the shop in her name so she can't complain.

Bio: Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes, was driven away from her homeland by her parents and sister Namaka for being too “ambitious” (although Pele suspected it had something to do with Namaka's lover falling for her instead). Since she had always longed to travel, Pele eventually accepted her banishment. Later Namaka pursued her seeking retribution and, after a brutal fight, locked away her Na'au (“heart” or divine powers) inside of a hill (Kawiopele) on Kahikinui. Afterwards, Pele fled to Hawai'i in a semi-mortal form, latched to the Earth by the spell and unable to return to Kuaihelani. She is a short-tempered, competitive, and vindictive seductress with a hidden soft side. She is chaotic neutral/good, but is prone to villainy due to her vengeful tendencies.[/SIZE]
As Pele, or Ka wahineʻai honua as she was sometimes known, wove through the assemblage of numerous lesser gods and goddesses at Odin’s feast, she began to wonder why she had even bothered to show up. True, she had a particular scheme in mind… But even once and a while she would be accosted by some pathetic man and blabbered at until she came up with an excuse to end the conversation. Her amber eyes scanned the crowd for her “quarry”, but up till now she had not managed to locate him amongst the rambunctious gathering of Norse and visiting otherworldly beings from all throughout the Nine Realms. Her kin, however, were not well-presented.

The Polynesian gods tended to keep to themselves, and due to the conquering nature of their Western counterparts, were not on the best of terms with the majority of them. She, and her people, resided on Midgard, for example, while Odin and his family resided on Asgard. They visited Honua, or Earth, very rarely. In fact, the last time they had done so, two of them had made a huge mess of New York City. Ah, but that was why she was here. She wanted to meet the man who had caused all that chaos. She had… A proposition for him.

“It is important to know how to care for the home,” the Asgardian woman continued, “It is our duty as women to look after our husbands and households. I am surprised that you are unmarried, at your age, particularly because you are so pretty.” This subject caused Pele to growl under her breath and fight the urge to either punch the woman in the face or light her on fire. If they remained speaking for much longer, Pele would burst into flames and not figuratively. The female's conversation was so dull that Pele had not even bothered to remember her name when she had introduced herself.

Just then, two deities on the far side of the room parted their separate ways, and the Earth-Devouring Woman caught a glimpse of a man donning a red cape and steel-plated armor (or was it a metal she had never seen before) with black leather embellishments. Her insides flared with excitement and purpose. “I’m sorry,” she interrupted, lying smoothly, “But I realized I haven’t introduced myself to Odin yet. You will excuse me?” The Asgardian blinked, confusion sketched into her face. “Oh? Well…Farewell, then.”

Pele shot the woman a polite but abbreviated smile, and disappeared into the crowd. If Thor, prince of Asgard, had glanced but slightly to the left, he would have seen her approaching…Formidable in her flame-colored gown, cropped short in the front but fanning out in “tongues” behind her, with a confident smirk dancing on her lips. Alas, he was glancing in the opposite direction. She turned, resting her back against the wall, and sighed deliberately. “Boring, isn’t it?” She had tousled, waist-length hair that started as obsidian black at the top and faded into an auburn at the ends. Shocks of orange and yellow were streaked through the auburn. Like molten rock. Her skin was dark and her eyes were a startling amber hue. “Although, I am biased. No dancing anywhere...Except for stiff waltzes, of course, in the other room.

Thor was very tall, perhaps 6'4” or so, and quite muscular. He looked very much like the men Pele usually fraternized with, except for his lighter skin, blond hair, and blue eyes. She understood why so many women found him appealing, but today Pele had other concerns besides the god's good looks. Thor turned his gaze to her, and as soon as their eyes met, his mouth spread into a good-natured grin. He had a surprisingly kind face. “I do not know. I rather like seeing all the different people assembled here,” he said.

I am Thor Odinson, and you, my lady?” Thor took her hand to kiss it as propriety dictated, but hissed and dropped it before he realized what had just happened. Pele chuckled darkly. “I am sorry. My name...” She smirked again. “…Is Pele, goddess of fire and volcanoes. But I doubt you have heard of me. Polynesian gods are not… How do I put it? Popular.” She toned down the heat of her skin and shook his hand instead. “It is lovely to meet you,” Thor replied, smiling again, although this time confusion was also knitted into his fair features.

Just then, a servant pressed their way through the crowd and moved to Thor's side, whispering something intently into his ear. Or, rather, they would have if there were anywhere near Thor's height. If it had been anyone else, they might have not bothered to listen in on the words uttered between the two of them. But Pele did, and sure enough, she'd heard pieces of what she needed to know in order for her plan to progress—downstairs, cell, containment, Loki. She tried to appear disinterested, glancing out into the crowd and swirling her gin inside of her glass absentmindedly. Or, what was left of it. Perfect.

She touched Thor's upper arm gently. “Please excuse me for a moment while I get another drink.” Thor appeared astonished, and before she could stop it, he had taken her glass from her. “No, my lady,” he replied dashingly. “Allow me.” The blond Asgardian prince disappeared into the crowd, then, leaving a behind a very disgruntled Pele. “Ufa,” she cursed, “I do not have time for this. The projection is wearing off.” She hesitated, but finally decided to slip from the room unnoticed in Thor's absence. The hallways of Odin's palace were scarcely occupied outside of the gathering. Occasionally a servant, steward, or maid would pass... But for the most part, no one.

That was, of course, until Pele arrived at the containment wing low in the depths of the castle. Assuredly Loki would be here, and her suspicions were confirmed by a throng of armed guards standing just outside one of the cells. A large, closed off cell not visible from the hallway, she noted. How would she get past the guards? The female tapped a finger to her pursed lips thoughtfully. Finally she settled on a solution, resting her hand against the metal of the palace wall. Gradually, the temperature of the hallway began to increase... Not enough for the guards to notice something particularly amiss....But certainly enough for the Asgardians to become increasingly uncomfortable in their armor. Soon the lot of them were filing out of the wing from the smoldering heat, in order to check what had gone awry in the palace's air conditioning magic.

Pele moved to the entrance of the cell, quietly, and paused before pressing her hand to the door. It slid aside with an antimonial whoosh and she stepped within before closing the cell behind her. The containment chamber was circular in shape and covered in all manner of strange scripts and symbols...Perhaps sealants to prevent Loki's usage of sorcery? Said male was bound at the center of the room, cowering on the floor, with his long dark hair draped over his face. A metal muzzle of sorts bound his mouth shut.

Loki of Jotunheim, Loki of Asgard,” she said, bemused. “I have heard such stories about you.” The woman walked towards him confidently, stooping beside him and reaching up to remove his muzzle from his face so they could...Converse properly. “My name is Pele, not that I expect you to know that. How are you faring, hmm, down here, while your family celebrates above without you?

Time.He had so much of it now. So much and yet it felt like it was mocking him. Memories played behind his eyes as he sat in the cold cell that he had resided in for the last...how long had it been since his last 'visit' to midgard?

Loki son of Od..no son of Laufey. Yes. Though he may sit in this cell, hands bound behind him, face masked he is not dead as he should be. As he would be were he any one else.

Thor, the idiotic muscle head that he had been raised with, may have pleaded his case. May have been the reason he was lock down in a room where he saw no one. At time he toyed with the idea of preferring death.It would have been far less humiliating for a king. A king.

The memory of Thor and him taking turn sitting on the throne passing new childish laws.

Tonight above his head a summit was being held. His isolation turned out to be full of taunting little whispers by a spiteful guard let him know what he was missing. thus in point a Summit for the 9 realms. No one from Midgard would be in attenders.Knees dug into the ground. His joints had gone stiff and he wasn't sure when was the last time he had moved his jaw.

His eyes were closed, no point in staring at the same empty walls. His magic had been locked away, blocked, unobtainable to him. Strands of greasy black hair hung around his face. Batching were few and far between as were his meals. Seemed as though he 'brother's' love only went so far.

A voice, oddly feminine for this deep of hell, had his head raised in muted curiosity. The release of his muzzle, warm hands on his face after years of no contact let a tingle. "Pah..." His voice seemed to be failing him after so long trapped in his throat. His tongue brushed the roof of his mouth. Popping noises fallow his attempt at sitting up a little straighter. Weak with out his power. Pele could be, probably is, another Black Widow. His brother truly is a fool.

ContessaLeandra 12-13-2012 03:25 AM

(( Yay, Loki! You've got his attitude down well! :3 Oh, and since I know Norse spelling is annoying... His Frost Giant dad is Laufey and then Midgard doesn't have a u. I tried it spell it with a u the first time, too, lmfao. Oh, and all the Hawaiian words I'm using really suck to spell, too, so yay! Language torture! ))

Pele appraised the younger Asgardian prince with her amber eyes, noting his gauntness, unhealthy pallid complexion, and greasy hair. He seemed unable to speak right away, his joints cracking as he attempted to straighten himself. From the looks of it, the god of mischief and lies had not gotten out of his cell regularly in the past three years. Pele contemplated how it must have felt, being confined to such a small space without so much as the ability to move one's limbs freely. She wondered how Loki's sanity, or what had been left of it since his Midgardian escapade, had fared under these conditions.

The woman stood, smoothing out her skirts and strutting around the chained male, and chuckled softly to herself. "I see words fail you," she continued. "Go on and adjust. I have plenty to say. Well...I suppose our only time constraint is when the guards decide to wander back and listen at the door." Pele had made a full circle around the god when she stopped in front of him, shifting her weight to one hip and resting a hand atop it.

"Seems the years have not treated you well during your time here," Pele said finally, and smirked. Something resembling fire smoldered behind her eyes. "On a scale of one to ten, how badly do you want to be free of your bindings? What you may not know about me is this: I am a goddess from Midgard, presiding over heat and molten rock. I can set you free and take you to a relic that will give you power beyond your wildest dreams. All I ask for, is a promise... A promise that you will not betray me."

Pele knelt down once more, meeting Loki's intense emerald gaze this time. Her expression turned serious and she regarded him quite coldly. Or fiercely, perhaps, as a fire goddess was incapable of being cold at any point in time. "You will need my help to use the relic," she informed him, "And thus you cannot be rid of me. Besides..." She narrowed her eyes. "...As far as I know, the Jotun bear a weakness to heat, and I have plenty of it. What say you?"

Ever_After 12-13-2012 04:22 AM

(( I went back and made the changes. I really tried to capture him.He never acted like a real bad guy to be. Just a child trapped as an adult. Finding out that he was adopted had to have done a real number on him.))

A lovely trick, a tempting trick.Freedom right there at his finger tips. A vow and the thousands of plans that had grew in his mind would come to fruit. Revenge on the humiliation he received at the hand of not only those of Asgard but of those Avangers. Yes that what that clown in the iron suit said they called themselves.

More then just freedom and power were being offered. His true destiny was once again obtainable. He would be the King he was always meant to be. King of Asgard, King of Midgard. it had a nice ring to it. Slowly, muscles aching, his lips formed an expression his muzzle ad prohibited. A smile.

A trap she may be sent in from Thor to break him further. Though he highly doubted the blond had such intelligent prowess. No his brother would rather have had him rot in here, out of sight and out of mind.

As children there had been many times the two had gotten into trouble. Thor was head strong rarely thinking before he acted and Loki enjoyed watching the chaos that ensured after one of their pranks.

When they were but boys, 9 possibly, one of their pranks, against a particularly ugly son of a noblemen, had led to a brawl. Really what had let to the brawl was the boy- whose name had been lost in Loki's mind- had retaliated by striking the black haired prince across the face. Thor had left his face unrecognizable able.

Later that night when he had snuck into his older brothers room to ask why he had acted so. The blond, grounded for an undetermined amount of time, and smiled, "We are brothers."

The memory faded back once more into the Jotun's mind.

He would keep his vow. He would have his power, his rightful place, and his vengeance and he would stay loyal to her until the time came that she was no longer a necessity. Her heat was a threat but his power was more of one then she would ever comprehend.

Turning his head to let the black strands fall away from his face his tongue darted out to wet his lips.He had shown himself in a state of weakness to this woman. A Goddess from Midgard.

"Deal"

ContessaLeandra 12-13-2012 05:50 AM

The volcano goddess's insides twisted with an unstable mixture of pleasure and excitement. Still, she had to be entirely certain that the god of mischief would cooperate with her instead of trying to kill her when she released him from his bindings. The female brushed back wayward strands of her fiery hair from her face, reaching for the god's hands and the cuffs clasped around his wrists. "Sorry," she apologized in advance. "This might hurt." The cuffs were designed to keep the trickster from using his magic, and, she assumed, others' magic wielded with the explicit purpose of setting him free. Her lips stretched into a thin line, a secretive smile, as she knew that her essence, rather than magic, was comprised of heat naturally. And as such she could deteriorate the cuffs simply by touching them like she would any other metallic substance.

"One more thing," she murmured, glancing up into Loki's eyes and placing her hands on the metal. Already it began to warp and melt from a simple touch. Luckily the man had leather sleeves to prevent him from feeling the molten cuffs directly against his skin. Once they had become reasonably softened, she ripped them off of the god's wrists. "This form is a projection of myself. Harming it will not kill me, and if you destroy it, you can be certain that you will not be able to leave Asgard." As if to emphasize the fact that she could do him bodily harm regardless, she grasped his shoulder suddenly and sent a white-hot heat jolting through him. He could not know that she only possessed superhuman abilities rather than divine at the moment...Otherwise he would overpower her. It was the same reason she had failed to mention that the aforementioned relic happened to be her lost divinity. "Behave. Now come along."

~~~
At first Thor had not thought much of the fiery-eyed seductress's absence from the gathering. In fact, he had not even considered Pele a seductress in the first place; merely some interesting and pretty female that he had never seen or spoken to before. As promised he had returned with a refilled glass of liquor. It had taken him a while to attain it, since many of the guests stopped him to converse and he was far too friendly to brush them away. Still, he eventually wove his way to the far side of the room near the wall, expecting to find Pele waiting there for him... But alas she had gone. He considered seeking her out when several Asgardian guards filed into the room. Their captain pushed through the crowd and came to stand at Thor's side.
"My p-prince," the captain huffed, as if he'd been hurrying to deliver the message. Also, his eyes bulged with horror. Thor's brow furrowed with concern. This could not be good news. "I-It's Loki." Thor hesitated, setting down the glass, and then followed the captain and his unit out into the palace hall...Away from scrutinizing eyes and ears. "What about Loki?" he asked slowly. Several of the guards exchanged glances. "Well, we left our post. It was suddenly very warm, and--" "Just tell me!" Thor demanded. The captain swallowed hard. "Loki has...Escaped."
Thor abruptly slammed his fist into a wall with a thunderous impact, causing the guards to jump in alarm. How could this have happened?! He was secure in there! Father, Odin... He would not be happy to hear of this. What was more, many people would be in danger. Loki would seek vengeance, if not against him, against the Avengers. They had thwarted Loki's previous attempt at dominating Midgard and single-handedly defeated the Chittauri army. "I must warn my friends," he said after a moment. "Tell my father I am returning to Midgard. There is no time. Others can determine how Loki went free." He must have had an accomplice. Thor knew Loki had been well-contained in that cell--for three entire years. The god of thunder turned and hurried through the palace, red cape billowing behind him. He needed to get to the Bifrost right away.
Ever_After 12-13-2012 07:25 AM
He wasn't a big fan of pain but if it was the price to pay for freedom then he would allow it.As the heat twisted the metal emerald eyes fell from those that reflected fire down toward his freed wrist. For years he had stared down at those blasted cuffs and now they lay deformed on the floor.
Her voice was lost in the sea of thoughts that flooded his mind. Moments before he had been offered his freedom and he had accepted. Part of him, a screaming demanding part of him that had clawed in the back of his brain through out his sentence encouraged him to stay put.Of course it was the whisper that was more seductive. The quiet voice that plotted the woman use. The voice of his revenge.
There was suddenly rising flashes of pain and heat slipping past the leather covering his shoulder. Emerald eyes darted up his pupils dilating from the pain. When his shoulders were released his body staggered backwards on it's own accord. He had shown too much weakness to this woman. Still he needed her. For now at least.
Standing Loki waited a breath to assure himself that his legs were still his own and under his control." Lead the way." He waved his hand out towards the door of his cell.He would regain the strength that had been stolen from him.
ContessaLeandra 12-13-2012 08:10 AM
The corner of Pele's lips curled upward and her eyes flashed, since, for the time being, Loki had not attempted to fight her. One word rang loud and true in her mind. 'Victory.' Pele carefully opened the cell door, glimpsing down the hallway for any sign of the guards. Fortunately she had been quick enough converting Loki to her side and now she did not have to resort to blatant violence. "Good, they are still gone," she breathed, gesturing with a nod of the head for the god to follow. She slipped out into the hall, her feet padding very lightly on the floor behind her... Her stealth almost feline. She did not speak to Loki until the pair of them had retraced their steps back to top level of the palace. Occasionally they would duck behind corners and crevices in the wall to avoid other guests or unsuspecting servants passing by.
Oh, how Asgard would panic when they found Loki gone, she thought. She could imagine the pain on his brother Thor's face when he learned of his brother's escape. Pele supposed that she could have selected someone less dangerous to assist her; one who had kinder interests towards the mortals of her realm. However, at the top of his game, Loki's sorcery surpassed most others' that she could think of... And Pele did not care enough for the disrespectful humans to choose them over her own interests. She had killed quite of few of them herself in the interest of entertainment. A tale for another day.
Eventually Pele led Loki to the grounds outside the palace. It was a garden of sorts, with a grand view of the massive, snowy mountains framing the edges of Asgard. And, most importantly, empty. "This is going to be rough on me," she grumbled, falling to her knees and starting to draw strange symbols into the muddy grass with a finger. As she did so, the goddess chanted low under her breath in Hawaiian, speaking of a wind to come and take them away to her lands. She could easily take herself back to Hawaii. All she had to do was abandon her projection. However, transporting Loki along with her at such a great distance would burn a huge amount of her energy and she would need some days to recuperate afterwards.
The woman stood, patting the dirt from her hands. Before he could protest, Pele had stepped towards Loki and clasped her arms tightly about his waist. "Whatever you do, do not let go," she warned. And, suddenly, the two of them were ripped from their place in Asgard. The dark surrounding air streaming with veins of light rushed--no, roared--by fiercely, threatening to wrench them apart. Had it succeeded, Loki would have been lost to the depths of space and time. But Pele kept a firm grip on him, digging her fingertips into the dark leather of his armor. In seemingly no time at all, the world ceased its rushing. They stood in the darkness on the edge of Halemaumau Crater. Its eerie fire glowed brightly and gently illuminated their faces.
Pele seemed more feral bathed in Kilauea's burning. "Here we are," she gasped, and relented her hold of Loki. She staggered back a few steps. Tendrils of her hair whipped around her face from the wind of the plume soaring above them. "Home. If you were human, you would have asphyxiated by now." Pele dropped to one knee, panting. Her energy was spent. Out of almost nowhere, a girl not too much younger than Pele emerged from the shadows. "Sister!" she cried, falling to Pele's side. She had sweeter, more delicate features than the fire goddess, but they resembled one another. "Hi'iaka," she murmured. Her sister's hands coaxed down her hair affectionately. "...I did it. He's here." The goddess forced herself to stand, regarding Loki with fatigue. "You must be tired. Perhaps hungry. I will provide whatever it is you need at this time."
He had traveled by Bifrost several times in his life and once had traveled to Midgard by use of the Tesseract. None had left his stomach feeling so unsettled. That could be so because of his current state though. Stepping away from the woman who had freed him the god of mischief watched the two women interact with a short of detachment. He was free but still he as in need of this Pele woman.
What he needed was this relic that would restore his strength, provide him with more. He needed his revenge. The tremor that rocked up his legs disagreed. Power may be what he craved but he would be forced to admit that rest and nourishment was what he body needed. A long stand of black hair slid down into his vision. A good wash wouldn't hurt either. How he missed his magic.
" Ah...A ro...."
Seemed his throat had not recovered from it's years of neglect.He would require water as well then. "I require a room." Banished, sentenced to isolation, he was still a prince of Asgard. He would be treated as he deserved. " And water."
Another memory tickled at the back of his eyes but he was free now. He would not let a past that had been built on lies cloud his mind anymore.
----
The air pounded with the sound of piano keys and drums as Dustin Kensrue sang out about bells and the coming holiday. Tiny white boxes floated through the air following the dark haired woman as she wove around boxes and furniture. A small pine tree sat tucked away in the corner of the loft apartment.
The lights that circled the pine seemed to blend in with the lights that lined the window to it's left. And the blue star at it's top seemed to outshine both sets though. Most of the Christmas decor had a very clear and direct theme. Penguins.Penguins sledding,dancing, wearing Santa hats, you name it she had penguins doing it.
The village was the one thing that she had that wasn't solely about the cute little black and white arctic birds. it was a classic Christmas village that took hours to set up. Mostly because she enjoyed dancing around her apartment and singing while she worked.
Lilian understood that most would find it odd. A witch,sorceress, magic user - what ever term you wanted to use- would love a holiday with such heavy Christian tones. Her response was 'screw you I can celebrate any holiday I choose.' A fact of which had put a strain on her relations with her father's family.
The shop had already been decorated though it was subtle compared to her private living space.Some holy, a wreath and of course mistletoe. Tis the season and all.
Best of all she had told that slave driver Fury in no uncertain turns that she wasn't to be bothered until 2013.She was way behind on her shopping and was only now a week into December decorating. From his perch by the kitchen her turtle shelled cat Hallow watched her as he cleaned his paw.
---
It was a hard season. Everyone anyone turned there were happy couples, families, all out just being together.For a man far out of his time it left a stale taste that not even the eggnog that he had bought of the street vender could wash away.He wasn't going to be alone this Christmas, he hadn't been for any holiday for the last three years, Miss Pepper Potts had seen to that. Steve had learned that she wasn't a woman you said no to. Tony had just laughed.
Still being around the earth bound Avangers- Thor came by sometimes but Steve wasn't even sure they had Christmas where he was from- it still wasn't the same. He missed his mom's Christmas diner or his mother in general.
Crushing the styrofoam cup in his head he let it drop into a near by trash can.He had a few stops to make before he headed home. This next one would be the most important. She had passed when he was a teen, before he had joined the army though he knew she would have been proud. A smile touched his lips though it didn't reach any father. She would have told him that he was going to worry her into an early grave. She had never approved of violence.
The pier glowed with lights and the sound of laughter filled the air as children ran by dragging their parents. Ah Christmas in New York. Sarah Rogers had loved taking him here as a child.
(( it's kind of a depression note to end this post on but really his mom died when he was a teen after raising him by her self his whole life, they were bound to be close.I'll do the other two in the next post.))
Very well,” Pele replied, though her voice sounded faint from exhaustion. She, with some assistance fom her sister, managed to open a dimensional rift atop Kilauea. The rift led to an underground cavern of sorts that glowed with the same orange hue as Halemaumau Crater. It had a vaulted, rough ceiling, and vaguely resembled a lava tube. Perhaps that was the true nature of the cavern. The inside contained a clustering of several large 'hale', or traditional thatched Hawaiian houses. These were the buildings in which she and her favored brothers and sisters lived, away from the scrutiny of humans.
On the outside they appeared nondescript, but on the inside (especially inside of hers) they were luxurious and accommodating. “There is one guest hale,” the fire goddess informed Loki, massaging her temples with a sigh. “It should be nice for you, in relation to your previous living arrangements. It contains a bedroom and bathing area. The water is heated geothermally, of course. My hale has a dining room as well, so if you are hungry at any point you are welcome to come there to eat.” Her gaze drifted longingly in the direction of said building. “After I rest, we can discuss...Plans.
Go, Pele,” Hi'iaka cut in. She could tell her sister could hardly stand. “I will see your guest to his room.” Hi'iaka, the patron goddess of hula and clouds, did not have powers that could compare to her older sister's by any means. Their only likeness was physical appearance, save for Hi'iaka's long silver hair and pale gray eyes. But Pele still favored Hi'iaka above all others, and she trusted her sister to exercise caution in the god's presence...Especially seeing as Loki had a reputation for violence. Unlike Pele, though, Hi'iaka had not had her divine abilties restricted. She could escape if needed. The fire goddess said her farewells to the pair and wandered off in the direction of her quarters, her steps echoing in the large cavern.
Hi'iaka gestured for Loki to follow her, and she took him to a hale on the far left of the settlement. After opening the door, she pointed out the bathing area and the ample, modern bed at the center of the room. The hale was also filled with a variety of nicely-carved koa tree (with red wood) furniture in case a guest had clothing or other items they wished to store in the room. Hi'iaka poured some water from a filled pitcher into a cup and handed it to Loki. “There you are. If you need anything else, do not hesitate to find me or one of my siblings. There are several of us wandering about here.” With that, the goddess of clouds departed and left Loki to his own thoughts.
Are you absolutely certain of this?” Nick Fury asked. He leaned back in his seat with his fingers touched together. Thor bowed his head solemnly, apologetic towards the man with the eyepatch. “I am sorry,” he said. “I cannot help but feel that it is my fault, somehow. I should have known that things would go awry eventually. I should have been prepared for it.
Thor had come to see the founder of the Avengers immediately after arriving on Midgard. Fury had a direct line to every member and he could contact them far quicker than Thor could. Thor still struggled with surviving day-to-day in Midgard, what with all the "cars" and "buses" and other things to learn about. As successor to the Asgardian throne, he rarely found time to visit and play mortal as often as he preferred.
Fury rubbed his eyes with a gloved hand and then got to his feet. “All right. I guess this means we have to assemble the team and let 'em know what we might be up against.
Thor debated whether or not to mention an additional alarming piece of information. “There is...Something else.
Fury threw his hands up, annoyed. “Well, then what is it? By all means, tell me the whole story!
Thor massaged the side of his neck sheepishly. “Loki... Someone must have aided his escape. We had him secured for three years before he disappeared. I doubt he would have stayed contained if he had a choice in the matter. No..." He looked to Fury. "I truly believe that he was set free.
So what you're telling me,” Fury retorted, “Is that my planet may have another crazy-ass motherfucker to worry about besides your brother?
Not in those precise words, but yes,” Thor said.
Fury stood still for a moment, closing his one eye and taking a very long, deep breath. Finally, he turned towards the far wall, which was comprised of a very large high-definition telescreen. He pushed a button on the intercom system perched on his desk and spoke into it. “Get me Stark.
At the goddess's departure he gave into his thirst bringing the metal to his lips greedily taking the water from it. Cool relief moved down his throat followed by a burn that hinted of sweetness. He might have forced the water down too fast. With his thirst quenched he would rest regain his strength and plot. Yes that right plan was needed to punish that rag tag band of 'earths mightiest heroes'
The room was smaller, simpler, then his room back ho...at the palace. Nicer though then the cell he had rotted in for three years. The sight of the bed made the him well aware of the ache still wrapped around his joints. Rest would need to come first. Rest in this unknown place with this unknown Goddess who called her self Pele. Loki was unaware of why she had freed him.In his experience one rarely did anything with out a motive.
His legs cried out in relief as he lowered his body down upon the soft comfort of the bed. It had been ages since he had felt something so soft. Thor would pay for what he had forced him to endure. THEY will pay for what they did.
The airport was as busy as one would expect for this time of year.Sitting in the last row in a seat tucked into a corner Bruce watched a little boy and his sister coloring on the floor of the terminal. He was waiting for Tony's personal pilot, arrangements had been made for him to spend the month at Stark Tower in New York. Like every year he would be there when Tony and Pepper few in. Then the three would greet the others as they slowly joined them before the Christmas Charity Ball that Stark industries hosted. Really it was more of a time for them to gather as a well team out side of a world crisis.
" Dr. Banner."
Adjusting his glasses the physicist looked up into the smiling face of one of Stark's flight attendants." let me just get your bags and you can follow me."
"oh I can get my bags or well bag actually. " Standing he lifted the strap of his single duffel bag, one didn't need to carry much while in the jungles of Africa. Anything of his that resembled personal items was kept at a room in Stark Tower.
" Very well Dr. Banner. Right this way."
Making sure not to step on the children or there...was that suppose to be a drawing of the Hulk? He followed after the uniformed female. He had a bottle of Benadryl in his coat pocket that he planned on downing before the flight took off. Better safe then sorry.
Heels clicked against the floor as the red haired CEO paced back and forth in the modern kitchen. She was wrapping up thee last minute details before they made their way to New York while trying out a new recipe for apple pie. Though he hadn't said anything Pepper had seen the look Steve had given the last store bought pie she had gotten for the dinner.Now she was trying to add baker to her already long list of jobs.
Tony was of course hiding down in his lab-his witty little comments about her last two attempts hadn't been appreciated. It always seemed that they were always so busy before trips to the big apple. Last minute meetings, new ideas,some crisis that needed her immediate attentions. She would have liked to get there before Dr. Banner. They never did. Secretly she didn't mind. It was still hard not to look up into the new york sky and not see a suit of red and yellow disappearing into the nothingness of space.
"Miss Potts Director Fury is calling."
What could he possibly want. Normally Agent Barton or Agent Romanoff did the monthly make sure Tony hadn't blown him self up check. She preferred Natasha. Most of the time Clint just encouraged Tony, not that he needs much.
" Thank you Javis. Patch him through to the lab."
"Yes Miss Potts. Also your Pie is done."
(( So not happy with this post.))
