Tony ended up getting bored one day and went to go gather up Bruce and the girls so he could take them up to the top floors.
"Oh Maeve," he called in a sing-song voice.
Julie ended up working with Bruce a lot, and she volunteered to be the first test subject for the antihistime.

Maeve paused her fiddling with the TM and glanced up.
"Yeah...?" she answered warily.
Once the formula for the antihistamine was done, Bruce let Julie be the first to test it.
"How do you feel?" he asked once Meganium really got the pollen going.

"Come on, we're going upstairs." Tony walked over and tucked her arm through his, steering her into the nearest elevator. "And no, you don't actually have a choice."
"Stuffy," Julie said with a shrug. "But not like my throat is about to close or anything, so a definite improvement." She sneezed and grabbed blindly for a tissue.

"Why are we going upstairs?" Maeve asked, just barely being able to put her work down before she was pulled out of the room. "There's pollen upstairs, I don't want to be in that."
Bruce handed her a tissue and gestured for Meganium to stop the pollen.
"Then the formula needs a bit more work," he commented. "It's supposed to stop the symptoms completely."

"It's not all over upstairs, just in the Green Lab. And we're not going there, we're going father upstairs." Tony hit the button for the main Avengers floor. "You're going to meet the rest of the team."
"Not quite there, then," Julie agreed, her eyes watering just a little as she went to go turn on the vent. "But it's a definite improvement, so it's better than nothing."

Maeve blinked and she stopped.
"Wait, what?"
"Just a few more adjustments, I think," Bruce said.

"Come on, it'll be fun. And easy. And did I mention fun?" Tony grinned and texted Bruce to come up to the upper level too.
Julie nodded and then blinked when Bruce's phone buzzed. "Anything important?"

"Fun," Maeve repeated. "You and I have different definitions of 'fun.'"
Bruce checked the message and sighed.
"Apparently, Tony decided he wants to take you and your friend to meet the others," he said.

Tony grinned. "Fun for me," he clarified as the doors opened. "Clint, get off your video games and come here."
Julie paused at that. "Others?" she asked, her voice only a little squeaky. "Which others?"

"'M almost done," Clint replied distractedly from the couch.
"The others," Bruce said. "Steve, Clint, Natasha, and Thor. At least, if they're around."

"Come on," Tony whined. "I have someone here for you to meet. You need to get off your butt and come say hi."
"Oh. Those others." Julie was definitely a little squeaky now. "Um."

"Tony, I'm doing something," Clint said as he worked his way through a level of Mari Kart.
"They're not as scary as they seem, I promise," Bruce said as he gathered his things. "In fact, you'll like them, I think."

"You won't be for very long if you don't pause the game. I can have Jarvis shut it off, you know." Tony led Maeve over to the couch.
"Yeah, it's the "I think" that worries me," Julie grumbled. Because, really, normal people just didn't get to meet the Avengers.

Maeve hesitantly followed him, her pokemon following her. When Litwick saw the video game, however, it trilled happily and floated over so it was in front of the TV.
"What is that?" Clint yelped as he stopped the game.
"It should be alright," Bruce assured her. "Come on, over to the elevator."

"That would be a pokemon," Tony pointed out. "Litwick. Really, Clint, what rock have you been living under?"
Julie nodded hesitantly and followed him over to the elevator. "You better be right about this..."

"It'll be okay," Bruce said. Once she was in the elevator with him, he pushed the button for the Avengers common floor.

"No, it's hers." Tony pointed to Maeve, smirking.
Julie fidgeted the whole way up there, clearly nervous about meeting the rest of the group.

"And who is she?" Clint asked. He looked at Maeve. "Who are you?"
"Maeve Whitmore," she replied. "I... guess I kind of work for SHIELD and for SI at the same time."
And that was about the point the elevator opened to let Bruce and Julie out.

"Hi," Julie said awkwardly.
"Julie, this is Clint."

Clint just raised an eyebrow.
"Newbies?" he asked. "Since when do we babysit newbies?"

Clint rolled his eyes.
"Maybe you need the babysitting, but I don't," he said with a bit of a grin. This was a long-standing joke between them. Going back over to the couch, he picked up the controller again. "Is this thing going to be in the way the whole time?"
"Litwick," Maeve called. The pokemon looked from the screen to her and back again, but reluctantly moved off to one side.

"Hey!" Tony pouted. "I do not need babysitting, I lasted this long without any of you. Besides, you all are in my tower. My tower. Where would you be otherwise, in some tiny twelve-by-twelve-by-twelve cell that passes as a room on the helicarrier?"

"Cap has an apartment in Brooklyn," Clint pointed out. He conveniently left out the fact that Steve was the only one with somewhere else to live. Not counting Thor; Thor was an alien, he automatically had somewhere else to live.

Tony snorted. "Yeah, an apartment in Brooklyn. Brooklyn is not a place to live, it's a black hole that swallows up everything around it from which you never return. Cap not included because he's Cap and he's apparently immune."
