"Don't let him hear you bashing Brooklyn," Clint retorted, grinning.

"He'll live," Tony retorted mercilessly, going over to pour himself a cup of coffee.

Clint just snickered and turned back to his game.

Maeve edged her way over to Julie.

"Oh good," she said to her friend, "you look about as overwhelmed as I feel."

"Yeah. Just about." Julie was still busy processing that Clint Barton played video games and Steve Rogers had an apartment in Brooklyn.

And that was even before Natasha entered the room.

Natasha walked past the girls without so much as a second look, having been aware they were there the whole time, since she actually read the things that Coulson gave her and Clint.

Maeve just blinked.

"Okay," she squeaked, "that was Agent Romanov." She looked at Julie.

Julie nodded, looking a little more overwhelmed.

"Yes. Yes it was."

"Natasha! Let me introduce you to these two! They're--" Tony started.

"Julie Stone and Maeve Whitmore. Yes, I know." Natasha looked both girls over quickly before returning her attention to the coffee.

Maeve blinked.

"That's frightening," she whispered to Julie.

"Just a little," Julie agreed in a whisper.

Natasha's lips twitched before she took a sip of her coffee, reached past Tony to snag a pastry someone had left on the counter, and headed back out of the room.

"My mind is officially blown," Maeve muttered to Julie. "Could this day get any more awesome?"

"Friends!" a voice boomed out. "Have I missed the introductions with the proteges of Son of Coul?" Thor grinned widely as he came into the room.

"Not entirely," Tony said with a grin. "That's Julie, and that's Maeve. They're the ones Coulson recruited."

"That's Thor," Julie squeaked, her eyes huge.

"Greetings!" Thor said jovially to the girls. "I am Thor Odinson!"

"Oh god it's Thor," Maeve breathed. She blinked. "And there's a Joltik on his head."

"And a Pichu clinging to his shoulder." Julie blinked. Somehow the cute little pokemon made him less intimidating. "Hi, Thor. Nice to meet you."

"An honor to meet you as well, fair maiden!" Thor grinned brightly at her.

Julie grinned and watched as the Pichu surveyed them all, standing on Thor's shoulder and puffing itself up. "Looks like you've got a few hangers-on."

"Yes! My little warriors!" Thor replied, grinning.

Julie grinned. "Well, they look really happy. Makes sense, I mean, I'd guess you kind of give off electricity all the time."

"Indeed," Thor replied. "They are most pleased with it!"

Julie couldn't help but grin. Thor was too enthusiastic to dislike. Especially with two adorable pokemon using him to look around.

Maeve, on the other hand, was still a bit overwhelmed. She had really just met the Avengers. Her life was pretty much complete. Even Kirlia looked a little awestruck, but that was also partially because Maeve was.

Tony decided to rescue the girls and steered them over to a couch, making them sit. Because he knew Pepper would find a way to blame it on him if the team broke the girls, and then Coulson would be mad.

"Jarvis, order Thai food for lunch. Plus extra for these two."

"Of course, sir."

Clint looked at the girls when they were plopped on the couch with him, and held out a second controller to whichever girl grabbed it first.

After a moment Julie took the remote, shaking off her awe long enough to remember the rules and how to play. And, really, playing Mario Kart with an Avenger? Beyond awesome.

Maeve just kind of sat back and watched. Yeah, this was really kind of awesome.

Julie lost the first two games, won the third one, and then handed over the remote to Maeve to play for a bit, grinning hugely. Oh yes, life was good.

Even better since lunch had just arrived and there was somehow now a pile of cute pokemon gathered around Thor, including Rotom and Cyndaquil.

Litwick had joined the circle of cuteness, as well, right between Cyndaquil and Rotom. Maeve turned down the controller, though.

"I'm not so great at video games," she said.
