"Alright, we'd better run back to the apartment and grab our stuff." Julie grinned briefly. "So we can be back before Tony decides to leave without us."
|
Maeve nodded.
"Meet you back here in 45," she said. With that, she rushed home to pack a quick overnight bag. |
Julie nodded and ran back to her apartment, getting her overnight back before heading back to the Tower. She even got there a few minutes early.
|
Maeve got back right on time, a bag strapped across her back.
"I've got what I need," she commented. Steve was also there waiting, having gotten there a little while before. |
"Great, we're all set then." Julie grinned.
Tony chose that moment to join them. "Ready? Excellent. Time to go." He headed up to the roof so he could get the Quinjet running. |
Maeve grinned and followed Tony. Steve gestured for Julie to go first, and followed the other three up to the roof.
|
Julie settled in the Quinjet, fairly comfortable. She'd been on longer flights in these, after all.
Tony moved up to the pilot's seat, settling in easily and waiting for them to get settled before he started the engines, getting them up in the air and heading for LA. |
Flights didn't bother Maeve, either, and she settled in comfortably. Both of her pokemon were in their pokeballs for the moment, and she idly checked the handler boards through her SHIELD phone. She grinned.
"They made it to the handler boards," she commented. She knew Tony and Julie would know what she was talking about. "About an hour ago, and the thread linking to them already has over a thousand hits." Steve looked between them all, confused. "What?" he asked. |
"Damn. I owe you lunch," Julie said though she was grinning. She checked her own phone and found no messages. "So far we're still clear."
Tony laughed at that. "And now you'll be on the other side of the country," he pointed out helpfully. "So Coulson can't start interrogating you immediately." |
"He can try," Maeve said, grinning. She watched a few more messages pop up on the boards. "Oh, there's one that says Coulson just saw them. Apparently some idiot already on Deadpool duty showed him, and HR watched him storm past. He must be on his way to Fury's office."
|
Tony cackled. "Should I hack into the security feeds?" He was already pulling out his phone.
|
"I thought you were driving," Maeve pointed out.
|
"Flying is a little different than driving, but I am. I can do both, I'm good at multitasking." Tony grinned as he hacked into the security cameras on the helicarrier, putting the view up on his phone and Maeve's phone.
|
"Wait a second," Steve broke in. "What, exactly, is everyone talking about?"
|
"A few videos of Coulson turning into a fanboy were posted to the field agent online board last night," Julie said with a grin. "They've now circulated to the handler boards."
|
"And the other handlers are eating it up," Maeve added, grinning. "Half the agents in SHIELD think he's some sort of ninja god, so this is gold."
"Videos?" Steve asked. "Where did the videos come from?" |
"Where do you think?" Tony asked, twiddling his fingers over his shoulder at Steve.
|
"Granted, I got them from Tony and gave them to Julie," Maeve added. "Things just went from there."
Steve just sighed and shook his head. |
Julie grinned, totally unrepentant, and leaned over to look out the window when they got close to Malibu. "Ah, Southern California, how I've missed you."
|
Maeve went to look out the window as well. She'd never been off of her own coast before, so this was a treat.
|
Tony landed the Quinjet next to the Malibu house, since it actually hadn't been built to withstand Quinjets landing on the roof, and he opened the back hatch.
"Welcome to Malibu." "Again," Julie muttered as she grabbed her bag, heading off the Quinjet. |
Maeve got off the Quinjet and stretched a bit, sighing.
"It's nice out here," she commented, slinging her bag over her shoulder and checking to make sure she had both of her pokemon with her. |
"It is," Julie agreed with a grin.
"Yeah well I picked the location for a reason." Tony grinned. "Feel free to let your pokemon out, make yourselves comfortable." He left the door open for them, letting his own group out again. |
Maeve nodded and let Chandelure and Gardevoir out. Gardevoir stretched and sighed, pleased, but Chandelure immediately floated through one of the walls to go explore.
Steve was a bit more hesitant, but eventually let out Arcanine, Eevee, and Shieldon. Braviary didn't usually stay with him. |
Julie let out Electrike, Vulpix, Altaria, and Typhlosion. Altaria and Typhlosion wandered a bit, while Electrike bounded off to explore. Vulpix trotted over to Arcanine, looking up at him with a curious tilt to her head.
Tony went ahead and let his group roam, moving outside to let Metagross stretch out fully again. He grinned at the appreciative rumble. |
