"There is now. What color glitter and how big a sign?" Tony grinned, looking at her. Because, yes, he would totally do this now.
"Surprise me," Maeve said, grinning. Because she was totally looking forward to this, now.
"Excellent." Tony actually cackled as he put in the order.
"It'll be here tomorrow. And I'll put it up on Thursday." |
Maeve couldn't help but snicker.
"That's going to be fantastic," she said. "I can just picture his expression now when he sees it." |
Tony just grinned like the maniac he was.
"I should order another sign for Julie. Some huge sparkly obnoxious thing that I can hang over her head all day tomorrow, just to annoy her." |
"I'm not responsible for whatever she does to you in retaliation," Maeve disclaimed, grinning. "I will not lift a finger to stop her."
Tony just grinned. He'd save that bit for later, then. Two signs in two days was just too obvious, even for him.
"I'll settle for teasing her relentlessly when you bring her in the morning." |
"Sort of tying her down, I won't be able to stop her from showing up," Maeve said.
Tony just snickered. "You should probably make sure she's not trying to sneak out the window while she waits for you."
"Today, I doubt she will," Maeve said. "She's exhausted. Tomorrow, though, all bets are off."
"Fortunately it's rather hard to climb out the windows here, and I doubt Clint will let anyone else into the air ducts." Tony grinned.
Maeve snickered.
"I bet," she said. |
"It's amazing how possessive he is of those. Especially considering, y'know, it's my tower." But Tony was grinning. Clearly this was a normal argument.
Maeve shrugged, grinning.
"You're the one who let him in the first place," she pointed out. "You could have very easily designed them to be too small to crawl through." |
"I didn't realize I'd have an archer crawling through the vents when I helped build the tower," Tony said dryly.
Maeve just snickered.
"Booby-trap them," she suggested. "I don't know. He's not my asset, as Coulson about what to do." |
Tony shook his head, grinning. "Last time he was injured, Clint got in the vents after two days and didn't come back. Bruce kept feeding him."
Maeve couldn't smother a snort.
"Somehow, that doesn't surprise me," she said. |
"It shouldn't. There's a reason Coulson is the only one who can deal with him." Tony grinned as Clint walked in to get back to his video games. "Isn't that right, birdbrain?"
"What?" Clint asked, blinking and looking at Tony. "I didn't do it, whatever it is."
"Last time you got hit during a fight," Tony reminded him, grinning.
"What, the guy with the horde of Ursaring?" Clint asked. He made a face. "It's not healthy for someone to have that many of one pokemon, especially Ursaring. Or Beartic, even."
"I meant you retreating into the air vents. There's nothing at all natural about that," Tony pointed out.
"The air vents are a sniper's dream," Clint retorted, grinning. "Perfection in every way."
"You just say that 'cause you have a nest in one," Tony retorted, grinning. "One of these days I'll get someone in there to clean and then you'll be sorry."
