Steve helped her balance again, and then let her go. He was curious to see what she was up to now.

Julie made her way back to the living room to get her bag, fishing around in it for a minute before she picked out a spare set of socks that somehow never left her bag. Hopping back to the kitchen, she lobbed the socks into the air duct, grinning when she heard Clint's muffled curse.

Steve grinned, although he managed not to snicker at the assassin. Clint had kind of deserved that one.

Still grinning smugly, Julie hopped back to the couch to flop over again. Now she was tired.

"If I ever find out who screwed up on the info, if they haven't already mysteriously vanished, I might help them vanish," she grumbled.

"I'm sure appropriate punishments are being handled," Steve said. Not that he didn't want the offender to disappear, as well, but he was still straight-laced enough that he thought things should be done through the right channels.

"Yeah, it's called Fury's Wrath," Julie agreed. "And Coulson's Wrath. Both are highly feared and to be avoided at all costs."

"So I've heard," Steve said. Though, this once, he wasn't too worried about that Wrath being unleashed on someone.

Julie grinned when she noticed how unconcerned he sounded. It was nice to know he wasn't totally perfect. Only mostly.

"Come on," he said, herding her back towards the couch. "Sit down and relax. I can get you what you need for right now."

"Alright," Julie agreed easily, letting him park her on the couch again. "Just maybe some water for right now?"

Steve nodded and went to the kitchen, coming back out a moment later with a glass of ice water for her. He handed it to her and sat down again.

"Thanks." Julie turned the movie on again, settling in to rest for a while. Although she was already debating cooking for everyone later.

Steve settled in as well, but he noticed that Julie had begun to fidget again near the end of the movie.

"Restless again?" he asked.

"Yeah." Julie sighed. "This is so frustrating." She made a face at the TV. Because man she really hated this.

"I understand," Steve said. He checked the time. "I was thinking we could come to a compromise about dinner, if you want to hear it?"

"You can call the shots in the kitchen," Steve said. "Give instructions and oversee everything. But you do it from a chair. I'll do the actual work."

Julie's eyebrows shot up as she looked at him, considering. "I'll help get everything out of the fridge," she said. "And then I'll sit at the counter and direct."

Steve considered it for a moment, and then nodded.

"Fair enough," he said.

Julie nodded and hopped her way over to the kitchen, pulling things out and setting them all on the counter for him before she moved into a chair to direct him.

Steve made sure she was settled in the chair comfortably, and then went over to the counter.

"Ready when you are," he said.

"Alright, go ahead and turn the heat on to medium, then cut the chicken into pieces approximately similar size, it doesn't have to be perfect." Julie watched him, admiring the view as well as making sure he knew what he was doing.

Steve nodded and did so. He may not have been the best cook on his own, but he remembered many, many nights during his childhood when he had helped in the kitchen with his mother. So he was no stranger to taking instructions at the stove.

Julie directed him through making dinner easily, grinning when he finished without a hitch.

"Well done. I admit I'm pleasantly surprised."

"You don't make it far in the Army if you can't take orders," Steve said, handing her a plate and some silverware. He grinned a bit. "Maybe you should taste it and make sure I did it right."
