"Hi Steve," Julie said with a grin as she managed to monkey her way up onto the back of the Doombot he was fighting, twisting its head expertly so it fell limp to the ground. "You started the party without me."

"It's dangerous here," Steve said as he helped her up. "What are you doing here?"

"My job," Julie said, watching to make sure nothing tried to attack them. "I do work for SHIELD, we're supposed to help you guys and keep the public safe." She had to pause there as a few more Doombots approached them and she started disabling them.

Steve couldn't necessarily argue with her on that point, as much as he wanted to. He was thankfully distracted when Doom decided to show himself. With a quick word to Thor, the two descended on the Latverian dictator.

Julie was busy keeping Doombots busy for a while, and it kept her busy enough that she wasn't keeping an eye on Thor, Steve, and Doom.

Which was unfortunate because a stray piece of building that someone threw ended up hitting a Doombot, carrying them both into her.

Tony swore when he saw Maeve was on the battlefield. "Maeve, what are you doing?" he growled.

"They needed extra hands," Maeve replied as she directed Chandelure to go through a few Doombots to short them out.

Tony grumbled and shot down a few more Doombots, since Steve and Thor were taking care of Doom. "Lucario, you missed a few over here," he directed, shooting a repulsor beam at a few Houndoom to keep them away from Maeve. Lucario was quick to respond.

"Ditto, Poliwrath," Maeve ordered. She knew very well what Houndoom's weaknesses were, and a Poliwrath fit nicely. The Houndoom were taken care of quickly, but Maeve wasn't able to get out of the way in time when a stray Doombot knocked a chunk of wall free. The chunk broke up as it fell, but Maeve still ended up pinned under some of it.

Tony blasted the rest of the Doombots into smithereens and landed next to Maeve, throwing the pieces of building away from her.

"Maeve? Are you alright? What hurts?" He lifted the faceplate to get a better look at her.

"Don't--" Maeve hissed as pain lit up like fire along one of her ribs and her leg on the same side screamed at her. "Don't worry about me yet, finish things." She was still alive, after all, so things were still okay.

"Steve and Thor are handling it," Tony said dismissively. "No more Doombots around. I can worry about you all I want." He crouched next to her. "Tell me what hurts."

"Tony, go on and make sure the situation is under control," Maeve said, her words breathy and wavering slightly. "Worry about me once everything is taken care of." She tried (and failed) to look around without moving her clearly broken rib. "Where's Julie?"

"Don't know, don't care right now. Why am I answering you, you haven't even answered me. Jarvis, call my doctor, have him ready. Tell me what hurts before I pick you up and find out by trial and error." Tony gave her a look.

"Go find Julie for me and make sure she's okay," Maeve said. "I mean it, Tony, I'll be okay for another few minutes."

"I'll find her after I get you back to the Tower," Tony said stubbornly. "See, they're almost done with Doom, Steve will probably find her first." He carefully moved his hands under her to pick her up.

"Julie is my responsibility," Maeve protested. She didn't get the chance to say anything else before Tony picked her up and she went breathless with pain.

Tony was quick to get her back to the tower after that. He knew how broken ribs felt, and he knew that he had to get her back to the doctor so she could get on pain meds ASAP.

Elsewhere, Steve had finally finished with Doom and was looking for Julie.

"Jules?" he called, looking around for her.

Julie had been knocked out when she hit the ground, but Altaria was fluttering around not quite totally panicking. She saw Steve and zoomed over to him, chirping urgently and fluttering in circles around him.

Steve saw Altaria and followed her.

"Julie!" He checked her over before gently nudging her. He looked at Altaria. "Go find one of the medics," he said.

Altaria cheeped and darted off to go find a medic.

Julie groaned quietly as Steve nudged her awake again, blinking a few times to get her vision to focus. "Steve? Thought you were busy with Doom?" she mumbled.

"Doom is taken care of," Steve replied softly. "Try not to move, I think you got hit pretty hard. The medics are on their way."

"Oh." Julie blinked. "When did that happen?" She lifted her head a bit, looking around. Although she didn't move other than that.

"Turns out Doom isn't as lightning-proof as he wants to think," Steve said, helping her sit up. "Thor and I took him down a few minutes ago."

"So I missed all the fun." Julie grimaced as the world spun a bit and she felt vaguely nauseous.

The medic reached them only moments later, kneeling next to Julie and checking her over quickly.
