The snow doesn't melt into the fabric of his pants, he lacks the body heat necessary to accomplish that feet.Blue eyes turned to the little fairy surprise covering the feelings they had reflected a second ago. When did baby tooth get here? Lifting a hand he patted the back of the little fairy's head with the pad of his finger. "When did you get here?"

A pale hand shoved his face away as he leaned in for another kiss. " Some of us had to wake up early for a day full of class." the red head took a step back into the spare bedroom that his parents had pretty much given to Joyce when he first brought her home. She was clad in a familiar set of bright green sleeps pants and one of his old shirts. "Fineeeee." Jamie dragged the word out pulling a laugh from his girlfriend. He needed to check on Sophie away.he had heard noise from the roof so he figured the guardians had left. "We can go out for breakfast tomorrow."He got a smile and another kiss as a reply before the door was closed in his face.

The first thing he noticed about Sophie's room was that it was freezing and second there was a lack of blond teenager. No way did she go with the guardians. Shit!

A man entered the room, just as Pitch had decided to roam the shadows of the house. Easily forgetting his plans, Pitch observed the brown-haired male. He looked to be somewhere in his twenties, and it took very little to convince Pitch that the man was Jamie. So this was the boy he had tried to kill. This was the light that he had tried to extinguish. A pang of distaste for his insane side that he was expecting to get used to twinged at him, alongside an old pain of the sad thought that he never got to see his own daughter grow as this boy had. This boy who he would have killed.

Sophie was walking back down the hallway, a comforter thrown up over her head, trailing behind her on the floor slightly, despite her efforts to hold it up. There were already a few blankets at the foot of her bed (years of Jack making her room cold had taught her well) so she figured just one more would be enough. She was humming a little, quietly, when she turned to enter her room and ran smack into someone. She fell back, landing on her butt, and the comforter falling over her face. She pushed it back and looked up at the figure. “Jamie?”

And there was the confirmation. That was definitely him. He wondered what the boy did now. What job he had, or if he was going to university. Pitch didn’t really understand too much about mortals’ learning schedule, but he did know that there were professions in which the boy would need more education than provided to him.

Baby Tooth stared at Jack with a condescending look, and rolled her eyes, flitting to his hood and yanking on it a little. Jack was luck he was cute, because he wasn’t always the sharpest icicle hanging about. She flew back to his cheek, her expression softening. He was going through a rough time. The Guardians hadn’t finished telling the story of the old Jack Frost, and now he was upset. Baby Tooth understood. It was definitely something hard to be faced with.

Turning at the sound of his name Jamie let his shoulder sag. So she hadn't run off with the guardians, he trusted them to keep her safe but he was still a little upset about the twins thing. They had crawled through her closet what was to stop them from doing it again? He didn't like the idea of things like that taking any kind of interest in his sister.

"hey soph. You..uh.. know it's freezing in there?" Lifting his hand he pointed to the open door behind him. Jack must have really done a number on her window. His dad really would need to take a look at it if the teen was going to make it through the early winter he was sure was coming. Jack wouldn't leave Sophie unguarded.

(( sorry it's short I'm dead tired.))

Sophie stood up, pulling the comforter closer around her, like a hood. “Yeah, I know. But it’s okay. I got another blanket.”

All of the tension that had built up in the last hour slipped out of his body at the utter cuteness of his younger sister.Reaching out he pulled the blanket off her head." How about you stay in my room till your window is fixed?" It wouldn't be the first time he had let his sister sleep in his bed. After the battle with Pitch, mostly because of the stories he and Jack told, she would get scared and crawl into his bed. Or she would simply fall asleep after listening to stories of the Guardians.

Continuing the motion of stroking the back of the little fairy's head Jack looked down at her, "You were in there this whole time?" worry laced his voice. He was sure that he hadn't been to careful getting from the Bennet's house to here, hell he had flown faster then ever when he was trying to reach Jamie and Sophie from the Pole. Not knowing that all that time he had a little tag along. " I bet tooth is going crazy right now."

Thinking about the guardians hurt. They had all shared so many stories with him, their first time as guardians, memories from their lives before they protected children, and they never once mentioned the old Jack. They kept that from him as if he didn't deserve to know the truth. Standing up winter blue eyes took in the scene around him. Chunks of ice had been ripped up and large abstract ice statues sprung up from the ground at random.

' You're Jack Frost, you make a mess where ever you go.' Pitch's word from all those years ago played in his mind once more.

" That makes him even more dangourse. Who knows what he'll do in his state." He was still sore about what Pitch had done to his eggs all those years ago. He saw pitch like a wounded animal, dangourse and unpredictable. Sure he wouldn't try to bring attention to himself with the twins involved but that didn't mean he would try something.

Sophie’s eyes shined at Jamie’s offer, and she nodded energetically. “Is it too late to make a pillow fort?”

Baby Tooth put her hand on Jack’s cheek and chirped, turning him to face forward right before she flew in front of his face. She smiled, the most reassuring smile she could, hoping that he could understand how much she wanted to make him happy.

Sandy smacked his forehead and shook his head. His fellow Guardians would never understand. Of course, they hadn’t been around as long as he had, so he really couldn’t blame them.

Tooth looked at Bunny, really trying to comprehend what he was saying. Bunny thought Pitch was MORE dangerous injured. Of course. Of course. He had to be, right? There was no way she had thought that he would need help. Pitch? Need help? Ha! The idea was laughable. It was even more laughable that she of all spirits would want to help him.

North nodded. “What should our plan of action be? I cannot spare many Yeti, but I will what I can.”

"Of course not! You go grab some more spare blankets from closet and I'll set everything up. " Ruffling her head the older boy set out to his childhood room. He'd need to move the desk to the other side of the room and maybe open the closet door a little. They were much taller then the last time they had built a blanket fort.
It took some work dragging the desk over and he had to stop every so often so make sure that he didn't wake up anyone else. Once that was in place and the door was cracked, a chair moved over by the window it was time for the blankets. Pulling the comforter off his bed he set to making a pallet. They use to do this with Jack when they were younger.

"You should go back."
He brought his hand back down to the glittery snow at his feet. He didn't want to see them right now.

Sophie trotted back down the hallway, trying to balance the eight different blankets, five draping down off of her head and shoulders, and three in her arms. She made it to Jamie’s room and pushed it open with her foot, almost losing two blankets in the process. She recovered them and entered the room, before tossing the three in her arms to her brother. “Is this enough, Jamie?”

Baby Tooth looked at Jack, squinting. Did the lost-boy really think that she could get back to the tooth palace through this cold? He was in worse shape than she thought. She touched his nose and then sneezed.

Jack brought his hand back up so the little fairy could perch on his finger. How could he forget that the fairy couldn't fly in this weather. Shaking his head at his own foolish thinking he smiled forcing his legs to work again. How long had he been kneeling in the snow. "Lets get you home okay?" Moving the hand with baby on it into his pocket Jack made sure the small tooth collector was safely tucked away before calling to the North wind to take him to the Pole.He had a good feeling that that's where the rest of the guardians would be.

The flight back was longer then the mad dash Jack had made from the Bennett's. Of course he wasn't going back quiet as far. The winter spirit hovered in the air somewhere above South Africa . " Okay you should be good from here...I'm...I'm going to go check on Sophie and Jamie."

There was a mountain of blankest where his sisters voice was coming from. " yeah Sophie I think that's enough blankets."

Baby Tooth watched Jack fly away and shook her head. The queen would not like this. She’d be heartbroken as soon as her little fairy came back, minus one Jack Frost. She tried to imagine the scene at the North Pole, but decided, she’d just as soon fly and get there to see.

Sophie grinned at hearing her brother and dropped the blankets on the ground before throwing herself on top of the pile. “You know who makes a good pillow?” Sophie asked. She rolled off of the pile and grinned up at her big brother.

"Who makes a good pillow" Taking the top three blankets from her arms Jamie laughed at the mess that was Sophie's hair. It had been years since they had made a blanket fort. Sometime before he went off to college maybe. Tying the end of one of the blankets onto the bedpost he draped it for the makeshift pillar. The two went from the desk along the otter rim and then from the window to the middle. It wasn't the best job but it would do.

The little blond needed this. He wasn't sure what all had went down back in her room, the guardians were keeping things from them. Something important about Jack. He wanted to go to the north and find out just what it was that had made Jack fly off, He wanted to know just what in the hell those two monsters were that crawled out of his baby sisters closet.
